I would definitely recommend America’s Home Place. They were great to work with. Everyone was professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about me getting my forever home.
Ryan, Brian, Joe, and Elizabeth where very helpful from the beginning to the end.
We are very satisfied with our decision to have Americas home place construct our new home. The out come was as we expected and are willing to refer others to go with Americas home place
From the moment we walked into the show room for our appointment. Jennie was on POINT!!! Her customer service and genuineness is TRULY UNMATCHED!! From that appointment we really didn't want to speak or meet with any other builders!!! My brother had the opportunity to speak with Jennie as well and his sentiments were the same. Unfortunately, for now the building process was a bit much for him and his wife and the commute for her to work would have been unbearable, but they know they will be back..
I can’t imagine a build process being easier
We had a wonderful experience building our first home! Have recommended AHP to friends!
Great experience with an awesome team at AHP. If we build again ourselves, we will be coming back!
They did a great job. I have recommended them to several others looking to building a new home.
The build part of this experience was great, the person who was our sales person was an absolute nightmare. He didn’t write down any notes, he told us we were getting name brand Equiptment like Trane air conditioning and we got a sub par ac unit.
I wanted specific things like a manifold system for the plumbing and he denied us.
The electrical is another issue, I wanted Square D
And they put in what they wanted which is sub par
Eaton.
Every thing is an up charge even if the Equiptment is cheaper, and I proved it!
The Roof was a complete disaster, took them three different times to get it right, wrong materials, wrong underlayment and then they tried to put OSB strand board down when I paid extra for CDX PLYWOOD.
I have been in the construction industry for 20+ years and I knew what we wanted.
Harry my project manager was great, he tried to defuse the issues the best he could but his hands were tied.
Great quality, great communication and exceptionally responsive.
Went completely off the rails with multiple project managers, and a general manager who didn’t know anything about building houses. Our first PM (Phillip) was great. Second one didn’t stick around long enough to make a difference and third (Greg) is an absolute nightmare.
Honestly, it felt like we were working with family. Everything was so easy and smooth.
Building my home with AHP was the best customer experience I have had in my lifetime! From the very first day I walked into the Fredericksburg, VA AHP office, the team went out of their way to teach me about the process, show me examples of their work, introduce me to other customers to talk about their experiences with AHP. That level of dedication and open communication continued through the design engineering, contract and construction phases of my home build. They kept me informed every step of the way, immediately notifying me when issues arose and providing me with multiple alternatives for resolution with hard data to back up each so that I could make an informed decision about how to proceed. They were courteous, professional, and fun to work with throughout the process and never once got frustrated with my “lists” of questions I had at every meeting. I would highly recommend AHP to anyone interested in building a home! Thanks to the entire Fredericksburg AHP team (Greg, Dale, Howard, Julia and Steve)! I am loving my new home!
Tanner & Terry were awesome!!! Great team!
I would highly recommend America's Home Place. Amanda was great as helping us make the changes and she has great ideas to help you get it right. She is also very good at helping pick your interior choices. The project manager was great at explaining the process from start to finish.
Mike at the Mount Juliet office is the worst. Everyone else is great. He held our out of pocket for lawncare, after closing, that took 3 months for him to anything. That is after I went up and demanded for something to start on the lawn or my lawyer was going to connect him.
I discovered AHP on the internet as a I was seeking plans for a home to be built on lakeside property. When I found a couple of plans with the great room on the back of the house (view of lake), I began to explore the website with pictures, video, comments by customers and liked what I saw. I found out there was an office with sample houses in Oxford, Alabama, about an hour away so I went to visit and again, liked what I saw. It was a couple of months later when my husband and I returned and began what turned out to be an easy and even fun (for me) experience. The salesperson, Kurt, was friendly, helpful, and sincere and he and Danny (?) who joined us later, made the process easy. I have spoken highly about our satisfaction with AHP to friends and anyone who asks.
It was a good experience. Everything went quickly with very few issues.
I had a great home building experience with Americas Homeplace. I would highly recommend them.
They were extremely professional, courteous, and always on time. They finished our project ahead of schedule with complete satisfaction.
I have recommended AHP to people who are thinking of building in our area. When making comparisons with other homeowners in the area, it was not uncommon to hear other builders end up over budget $$$. We were very happy to be within $500 of the original budget. We did not create any change orders during the build process.
There were several issues during our build that I would tell anyone building with AHP to be mindful of:
1) The fiber optic internet needs to have a conduit run from the box at the street right next to the electrical box up to the house. This was not done during the trenching for the electrical and cost us approx. 4k to complete after the fact. I'm sure the cost could have been mitigated if it had been run by AHP during the electrical run.
2) The data ports that were planned and Cat5 cable was run however no actual terminals were added to either end. AHP staff told us the internet service provider would add these. When I discussed it with BTC Fiber they said they would only do one. I ended up doing it myself and discovered a wire that had either been cut or damaged during the remainder of the build.
We have purchased spec homes in the past that have terminal ends on data cables.
Regarding the fiber conduit, this is the first time AHP has built in this community and possibly this is a regional issue. As for the data cable terminals, AHP had to send an electrician back out. We ended up running another data cable to an opposite wall because access was an issue to the original location. I think having the cables properly terminated and tested as part of the final walk through would have saved AHP money for the repair labor and made us happier and saved us the expense in tools and time to do it ourselves.
Both of these things may be regional building processes but being up front about them with the customer would be suggested in the future.
I just don’t know. We love our new home but weren’t satisfied with several things during the building, and we have never built a house before so I don’t have anything to compare it with. As of now, our feelings are still raw.
When I decided to pull the trigger on building, I did not take it lightly. I researched and met with several builders to bring my vision for my forever home a reality. From the moment I walked into the office to meet with Heather Mitchell and Ken Jackson to the last steps of Doug Smith handing the keys over to my dream home was for the most part a smooth ride. Of course, there were bumps in the road mainly with contractors but having Doug as the project manager over the build process really streamlined the process. His communication was impeccable, and he kept me in the loop with just about every aspect of the job, of course I lived at the location where the house was being built so I stayed on top of everything going on so when something went wrong or was not right, I could send my concerns to Doug. If there was a hold up or something wrong Doug was upfront and straight with me letting me know exactly what the hold up or the problem was. Anytime I had issues with the contractors work he would make sure they were back on the job correcting any problems and there were several mishaps in the process but in the end it all came together.
Heather was so patient and very Intune to every step of the design. The communication and her commitment to the project made me feel like I was her only customer. She took the time to research, make calls to vendors and help me design the dream home I had visioned for so long. I could not have done this build without her expertise in the design and her suggestion in selections of the fixtures.
I also need to give a big thanks to AJ the fixer.. He has been very responsive with those small mishaps or adjustment that are found after moving in. He has been very responsive and eager to make sure they are taken care of, and I am satisfied.
AHP is dedicated to their clients and committed to satisfaction at every level of the build . If I had to do this process again, I would absolutely choose AHP. Thanks to a committed team of experts for building my forever home.
Overall the process with America's Home Place was great. Everyone from Cindy, Kayla, David and George were helpful and patient. This is the second house that we have had built, but first from America's Home Place and we definitely had a better experience with them than the first. They listened to our concerns and answered our questions quickly, which was very important to us. We would definitely recommend.
I would strongly recommend this team efforts from start to finish to anyone looking at building a house!
