We love out new home on the lake! The fact that my wife, Nancy, was able to use an existing home plan and modify it to add a walk-out basement was a huge positive for us. The team at the Anderson location were great to work with. They listened to us and provided constructive feedback and responses to all of our questions during the planning and building of our new home.

Charlie, Janna and team did a fine job from design to CO. Janna was a joy to work with as she brings practical expertise in design options that AHP can offer and incorporates these quickly for impact to final pricing. Project management was a real soft spot but Charlie stepped in mid project and lead the build to successful completion.

PM Problem Resolution - Charlie started as PM then handed off project to incompetent PM who was subsequently relieved of his duties and Charlie lead project to completion. The coffered ceiling and living room beams were rebuilt 3 times but ultimately corrected.

Sales Process Satisfactory - It would be nice to go over more of the design details when going over the plans. Example, I got a shower which I would have assumed had a shower door. I didn't know that was extra till almost completed. Then too late to add without change cost. Also, I assumed the deck was made with screws, but yet that was extra, found out in time to make the change.

My husband and I walked into AHP randomly. Caitlyn Morgan and Ryan Shumate greeted us and explained what we could expect. This was the first builder we had spoken to, we were thinking we could only get a modular home placed on our property. After speaking with Caitlyn and Ryan about the possibilities,we were convinced AHP was for us. They continued to make us feel comfortable and were able to answer the many questions we had.

PM Professionalism - Tannner was absolutely amazing! We would have questions and because of his extensive knowledge he was able to guide us in making a decision that was perfect. We are extremely thankful for his input in our discussions.

Working with America’s Home Place (AHP) was a very pleasurable experience. They were professional and courteous in all aspects of our build. The deciding factor to use them was the ability to move interior walls at no extra fee.

We built in Alabama while still living in Texas. The fact that this was a long distance build required effective communication. “AHP” was exceptional in this area with weekly updates along with pictures.

They worked with me in adding gas appliances and furnace even though they don’t do gas, helping coordinate with the local gas company.

They also worked with me in adding a wood burning stove, also something they did not provide as an option. I wanted the stove vs. a fireplace so they worked with the third party I selected to install the stove during the building process vs. waiting until after I moved in.

Our overall experience with AHP was, and continues to be, a positive one.

Project was complete on time and under budget. We haven’t had the 1 year revisit, yet, so I cannot comment on that process, yet.

Areas For Improvement - Sitework phase - foundation PM (pre-handoff to the building PM, Aaron Connell) was not efficient, communicative, and made a lot of errors in layout and materials orders. Once Aaron started onsite everything was fantastic.

Recommend Salesperson - Angel was patient and so helpful, she used floor plans from other models and created the kitchen of my dreams. She was so knowledgeable and responded quickly to any questions we had.

Recommend Project Manager

Recommend Project Manager - John was awesome, knowledgeable and available whenever we had questions. He patiently explained the process and was gracious whenever I panic about delays due to weather.

Greg, Dominic, Steve, and Howard were all personable and remained in contact the whole process and several weeks after. For a new home owner, it was great that they were communicative and willing to help us out often. I understand this might not apply for all of AHP, but the fredericksburg branch seems good to me.

Trust

Trust - Other than the schedule getting pushed due to rain and general soil problems, they completed work in a timely manner and they didn't drag us along, or at least I didn't get that feel

Scheduling - Dominic kept us informed, though the project went long and we had to stay in a hotel for a bit, I don't blame them too much. They worked with us in the end to keep us happy and moved us in asap.

Areas Of Satisfaction - After care service and delivery service. Dishwasher was faulty, they full on replaced it new when the warranty service was taking weeks to even get out and take a look. Dominic had the unit replaced before the warranty people even came by, honestly, and I had contacted the warranty people a week beforehand too.

Overall, very happy with the finished home

We would absolutely recommend AHP to family and friends and already have. From start to finish, this has been the best home build experience we have ever had. Cathy is wonderful and made the design process easy and fun and was in constant contact with us. Our project manager, Andrew, is phenomenal. His attention to detail and constant communication and photos throughout the build went above and beyond our expectations. We have been in our new home for 2 months now and love everything about it. Thank you so much AHP for making our dream home a reality!
