They forgot to order the tile for the kitchen backsplash and didn’t even realize it until it was time for installation! which delayed the project 6 weeks and they wouldn’t pay the appliance installers to come twice to install all the appliances except the stove in the meantime. The punch list should have been done during the 6 week delay when nothing was being done at all but it got passed off to a new project manager and punch list took 6 more weeks after tile…

We have used Marrokal twice for two separate remodeling projects, and have referred them to several friends and family members. Our second project involved the kitchen, and four new windows were installed. After about ten years the windows became foggy, so we called Marrokal to inquire about fixing them. Within one day we received a call from Frank to arrange to come to the house to check out the problem and see what could be done. He quickly made arrangements for a representative from Milgard Windows to come out to replace them. We are delighted to have our beautiful windows back and are very grateful to Marrokal for making the repair process so easy!

The entire experience was great, I would definitely go through Marrokal again personally if I ever need another large remodel. However, the price is a big consideration since Marrokal services are expensive.

The remodel is gorgeous and hope the photos will show it off for Marrokal. I don’t think many of our friends would pay the price of our remodel, it was a very expensive project for outdoor living space.

Well, we got caught in the Jan 22, 2024 Atmospheric River (Whatever that NEW phrase is) that invaded our home and flooded 5 rooms. we have lived in this house for 37 years and have never seen this kind of weather before. we immediately called 2 people: A restoring company that moved all the furniture, cut 12 inches of drywall, etc, etc. Meanwhile my wife called Marrokal and Frank grabbed a crew of guys that immediately began digging a trench 4 feet deep and put 7 drains in and created enough fall that will forever protect us from future damage. Frank did a marvelous job ramrodding his guys to work fast as another rain storm was coming. Frank won the race and all the rocks that he put around the area has done an excellent job. We have used Marrokal 3 times for remodeling our home and the last remodel was about 25 years ago. We love our home and are happy that this disaster will never happen again.

My recent repair was handled expertly and satisfyingly; however we had a poor experience with the original remodel work in 2019. Answers below refer to the repair only.

While we went over our budget, we are very happy with our remodel!

This is our second major project with Marrokal and they did not disappoint. While no project goes exactly as planned, we were blessed to have a team of professionals there on a daily basis to support and guide us through the challenges. The project manager, Pete S, was outstanding and truly made the decision to trust Marrokal with our home absolutely worth it. We love our newly remodeled home and appreciate all the hard work from the team at Marrokal to make it happen.

They make it right!

The quality of the work performed was excellent. The project manager followed up with me to make sure the project was being completed in a timely manner and to my satisfaction.

I felt ignored for multiple months.

I can’t recommend because of the lack of oversight and repeated change of personnel which resulted in numerous errors, redos, and additional time beyond what was promised. As a result the project cost much more than anticipated.

Architecture planning was a good process with John and Steve, but the design process was not a fun experience. We did not get any value from it. It cost us more time and aggravation and the fees for this service were not utilized.

Marrokal is more expensive than other options for a project like ours. We knew that. With that premium, we expected a more premium experience. Instead we had a typical experience where “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. Delays are inevitable in construction, however many of ours could have been avoided with better planning and communication. But the several periods of weeks with no progress, or even any communication, disappointed us.

The architect and interior design team was topnotch and listened to our ideas, implemented them and provided their expertise and guidance in areas where we had questions and doubts. We would highly recommend!

I would recommend Marrokal without hesitation. My project took nine months and entailed so much more than just a basic kitchen remodel. It involved gutting the kitchen, knocking out two walls, getting rid of the popcorn ceilings in the entire house, replacing some windows, adding new flooring throughout the entire home, installing extended lighting which included canned lighting and other new lighting fixtures, adding new plumbing runs, and installing a beautiful new entry door. And, not to mention all the little details like adding new base boards, door trims, door hardware, entry door combination locks and painting every inch of my home’s interior. Marrokal met or exceeded my expectations.

Open Ended - Project Manager - My project manager was a very nice person. He was considerate about us staying in the house and working around our schedule. We appreciated that. He was a very personable person. I truly believe he had my best interest. We were not just a number or money sign to him. Our project manager truly wanted to make sure we were happy with the home. That was really important.

Great communication, quality contractors

We are very satisfied with the professionalism and communication throughout the process, and we are happy with the end product. In particular, the design process took into account our needs and how we would use the space.

This was our second project with Marrokal. Just as with the first, the design exceeded our expectations and the execution was professional and of the highest quality. Because this project was going to involve a near complete re-build our home from the foundation, we did talk to several firms to get a better feel for what we were getting ourselves into. Marrokal was the only candidate that gave us the confidence that the job would be done to our satisfaction.
