They do quality work.

This addition/renovation was large in scope. It included
-Two-story addition: living room with gas fireplace and built-ins on first floor and master bedroom/bathroom/closets/balcony on second floor
-New central air conditioning/heating
-Renovation of the original second floor: new bathroom; new walls, doors, and windows; wood floors refinished; new carpet and railings for stairs; and closets added
-New porch: flagstone floor with thin veneer stone surround and new cedar columns
-Chimney and front of addition clad in thin veneer stone.

All of the work met and often exceeded our expectations. K Squared kept within the budget and finished on time. The original house is about 160 years old, so there were some issues that came up (which we anticipated as the layers were peeled away) that added to cost and time, but all were discussed and agreed on.

As in all large, complex projects, there were problems--with missed details, misunderstandings about details, or communication--which sometimes caused a lot of anxiety and frustration for us. However, all of the problems were ultimately resolved to our satisfaction. When we would point something out that wasn't quite right or didn't turn out as we expected, it was fixed with "We want you to be happy with this." Apparently, not all contractors have this attitude, and we really appreciated it.

The project manager Chris Foster was very professional, on time, and reliable and worked very hard. He was easy to work with and discuss project details with. He did great work and is an all-around great guy! That professionalism is reflected in all the K Squared team members. We were at home the whole time they were working on the house (5+ months), and we were happy to have them here.

The subcontractors all did outstanding work--cannot emphasize this enough. The flooring subcontractor was not working out, but K Squared was on top of it and resolved it quickly by hiring another flooring firm.

Overall, the project went smoothly and the house is really beautiful and functional with highest quality details. The inspector who did the final inspection was very impressed with the quality of the work done. We truly love our new old house!

Overall we were very happy with the professionalism of the team at K Squared. They were very thorough in the preparation phase of the project, beginning with the project estimate, and presented a very clear breakdown of the job and payment plan. During demo, the team did a very good job cleaning up the site each day so that we could live with some sense of normalcy, especially on weekends. The subcontractors who worked on the project were mostly excellent in their work and clean up. We did have some concerns about the flooring subcontractor and those issues were addressed promptly. They were the only part of the project that we had some challenges with, but again, it was resolved. We have had several neighbors visit our home since the renovations and a few others ask about our experience. While we did not disclose cost for the project, we gathered from speaking with some neighbors that they are not willing to spend a similar amount for such a project. There is a lot of competition out there among reno companies, and many of our neighbors are looking for the "best deal" which sometimes translates into "joe handyman" quality. Lots of HGTV ideas with best intentions but poor execution. We wanted a project manager and renovation specialist that we would have confidence in, whose finished product would stand the test of time, and that would most importantly pass all inspections and be up to code. We received all of that and the investment in our home was worth it.

Additional Comments - Our original project, remodeling the master bath, ran into a significant delay in the advent of Covid19. For a period of time, we couldn't have anyone in the house other than immediate family members. Once given permission to allow essential workers in the door, K Squared follow all health and safety requests. Thank you.

The project included a new window on the 2nd floor and they set up scaffolding and used that for daily access and egress so as not to 'track thru' our home. BRAVO! Courteous and willing, they even took care of an "O, while you are here could you. . . " extra item for us. VERY PLEASED with their work; not just 'satisfied'!!

Professional, and very easy and pleasant to work with on our kitchen remodel. Their designer and subcontractors were all equally good. They did a beautiful job, on time and pretty much on budget.

A year after completion, I say the same: it works for us.

Dale and his team completed a major renovation on our house. Dale designed and executed the plan for our kitchen, laundry, master bath, garage and screen porch remodel/addition. It was a big job! We had a hard target date that they were able to meet. The entire project came out even better than we expected. Chris Foster our project manager was excellent to work with, patient, and always knowledgeable. He ensured that what we wanted was what we got, and the workmanship was top notch. While it's nice to have it done, we will miss seeing Chris, Steve, Landon, and Jake on a regular basis. I know our dogs will miss them too! Great job guys, Thank You!!
