John Goch, one of the owners, was a building contractor in Northeast Ohio. His company, PROPS Consulting (Medina, Ohio), replaced all of the windows in my home. The windows came with a 10-year guarantee. I selected Mr. Goch and his company because he seemed reputable and honest. Within a couple of years, one of the plastic window mechanisms broke and I contacted Mr. Goch by cell phone.

We discussed the fact that the window manufacturer had gone bankrupt, but that he could still get parts. Mr. Goch went on to say that he would take care of it through a local contact, even though he (Mr. Goch) opened up a pizza business in Kentucky. I have repeatedly emailed both Mr. Goch and his wife (Kelly), and I have also repeatedly texted Mr. Goch, in order to get the window repaired. He just ignored me and ignored me. After waiting an inordinate amount of time (months!) for him to be a stand-up businessman and to honor his word, I finally got in touch with a local window repair company and they repaired the window at a cost to me of $320.33.

So much for a 10-year warranty and so much for Mr. Goch being a reputable and honest businessman...!

Seeing Props Consulting at the 2019 Akron Home and Garden Show, I was impressed by he quality of the products they install. I needed an entire exterior renovation and hired them to removed my old siding, replace my insulation, install new patio doors and nearly all windows with Marvin products, and then side the house with James Hardie fiber cement siding. I was keeping environmentally friendly choices in mind, as well as home maintenance. Since fiber cement board can fail and the warranty be voided if guidelines are not followed, having an experienced James Hardie preferred installer like Props do the job was really important to me. The owner, John, worked for Hardie and helped write the guidelines on the installation. Props aims to please and exceeded my expectations in their attention to detail and willingness to work with me. The interior window sill and trim replacements on the interior now look as if they were always there, despite house settling and issues with fitting new windows into old openings. On the interior, some windows, doors, and trim were carefully stained to match my woodwork. Everyone at the company had my satisfaction as their goal—John the owner, Dylan my crew manager who checked in daily, Kelly in the office, and the crew members whom I saw for hours every day and worked hard despite the cold and snow of 2020 winter. A special shout out to Luis, my crew leader, for aiming to please, for his carpentry skill, and going above and beyond. Dylan had a very calming influence despite the chaos of such a huge detailed job, and even helped out at the end by installing house numbers and a nesting shelf. I couldn’t be more pleased with how my house turned out, and neighbors have texted raves!

We contracted with Props Consulting to install Hardie Board siding and Fiberon decking. They did a fantastic job. Of course, the quality of the project is very important, but just as important during construction is communication. They were 5 star communicators - we always knew what was happening and when. I strongly recommend Props.

The salesperson, Chris, was knowledgeable and very personable. The timeline for the job moved a few times. It is great to be able to come home and LOVE the look of the house.

The communication they provided with me on the project, as well as the billing detail given, was top notch and unlike anything I've ever experienced when dealing with contractors. I consider myself very particular about workmanship and ensuring I get what I pay for from contractors. Props takes their commitment to customer satisfaction very seriously and ensured I was happy with the finished product even if it meant modifying their work at their expense to meet my expectations. Although the installation crew were absolutely amazing and I 100% recommend them, the administrative staff fell far short of our expectations for professional communication. We paid them in June for the job and didn't hear anything. Every time I'd ask when they would start, I'd get a message back about how he'd find out at Monday's meeting. Finally, at the beginning of August I asked for a 3rd time and got a reply from the CEO, who told me that our contact person was no longer working with them and that the project would start at the beginning of the next week. Everything was dropped off the following Monday--materials, Dumpster, portajohn, blocking our driveway and sitting on our lawn. No workers showed up for the entire week, with no word until I contacted them again. After they were finished, the portajohn was not picked up until I waited a week to email and ask when it would be removed. When they showed up, the workers worked quickly, efficiently, cleanly and for 12-hour days, 6 days a week. They were always friendly and polite. Once the work began, I spoke with our contact person several times to confirm what work was to be done. I don't speak "work order" language, so I was asking for confirmation that the crew would be doing the stuff we had added to the original order on the sides of the house. Guy said yes, yes yes and that the project would be done by the middle of the following week. However, after the crew had only done the front and back of the house, he called to say that they were wrapping up. "What about the sides?" Guy said it was the first time he'd ever heard of that and denied that I had asked him about it previously. Then, when he came to do the final inspection, he surprised us at the last moment with the bill for the extra money we were owed. Although he is correct in that it was listed in the contract that we might owe extra money, he never mentioned it in all of our previous conversations, so we were unprepared and shocked. We were clearly irritated at his unprofessionalism, and he had the nerve to say that he hoped that it wouldn't interfere with any future business! Last, I want to specially mention how our contact person treated the workers who did such a great job. He took credit for everything they did! "They really work well and work hard, and they're so friendly," we said. His reply was always something along the lines of, "Yeah, we've really worked on them to be good." In addition, he called one of the workers by the wrong name--imagine Juan being called John. It's my opinion that the people who actually do the work of the company should be treated well by the company.

We were extremely satisfied with the installation crew and the James Hardy material. Great Job!!!

Beyond my expectation.

Props Consulting replace cedar shake shingle siding on our home with Hardie Board shingle siding. From the office staff to the salesman to the installers, all of the people associated with the company were responsive, professional and courteous. The cost was reasonable and the quality of the work was excellent.

The entire Props crew is amazing! From start to finish they addressed everything on our behalf and any potential issues were handled quickly and efficiently. Even the installation crew answered all of our questions and explained what they were doing so we understood. We could not have asked for better service and I am so happy with the way our home looks now. We have already received a ton of compliments and our project was just completed. If you need windows and or siding definitely go with Props.

PROPS Consulting did a beautiful job on our house. The details and craftsmanship have been commented on by several people. The crew was knowledgeable and professional. When they discovered that a supporting beam under our solarium had rotted out, endangering our glass curtain wall, they propped up the floor and replaced the beam before continuing with the siding.
