On May 21, 2023, three floors of my house were flooded due to a faulty shut off valve from a toilet on the second floor. My experience with the Insurance company and the Construction company started off very positive. The Insurance came out immediately and the claim was settled without difficulty. Construction zone was selected because it was on the insurance company preferred list. I met with the Construction Zone Supervisor (Mike) approximately 2 weeks after my incident. He performed an assessment and told me that the Project Manager (Nick) would come out to further assess the work that needed to be done. Nick indicated that they were 8 weeks behind in their work. I understood this delay up front. Measurement was taken at this time. He asked for pictures of the previous kitchen because my kitchen had been totally gutted. These pictures were provided. I was ordering new appliances and so I scheduled the appliances to be delivered August 19th. I had an appointment scheduled for the selection of the Kitchen Cabinets, I picked out the bathroom vanity and sent my selection to Nick. Things at first seemed to be moving right along. My appliances were due to be delivered and no work was started, so I called Nick and he said to tell them September 30th. Nick had to come back to the house to measure the granite counter -top (that was not damaged by the flood) a total of 4 times. He indicated that the Sims- Lohman was having a hard time coordinating the cabinets with the countertop and the measurements had to be exact. By this time 5 months had passed, and no work had been started at my home. I called the claim adjuster, and he referred me to Acuality. I placed a call to them and informed them of the concern I had. 5 minutes later I received a call from Nick stating that my cabinet was being ordered and that they would be delivered Oct 30. I asked when the walls, ceiling and flooring would be started I because you can’t put up cabinets without it. He stated that they would start appx 2 weeks earlier than the delivery date. Close to Oct 30th, I received a call stating that the cabinet delivery was being delayed by several weeks. Once again, I had to reschedule my appliance for Nov. 19th. Finally work got started at my home, the crew that came out took more smoke breaks than that got work done. Walls were finally completed. Another crew came out to do the floor. The subcontract company (Shannon) did the ceramic tile and the basement flooring. These people were excellent. They came in and did their job. I have no complaints about that work. Shannon’s people that did the carpeting had to come back because they did a substandard job, but they came back immediately and corrected the problem. On November 19th, my appliance was due to be delivered but due to all the rescheduling my order was misplaced and had to be rescheduled for Nov 30th. I admit that at the last minute, I decided I wanted another countertop. I ordered it from Granite City and it was delivered and installed within 5 days. Construction was finally finished on December 19, 2023. Two days shy of 7months.Overall, I think the company needs better organization, scheduling and better project managers. Nick was very nice, but I think he was over his head managing multiple projects. Some of Construction Zone was overheard expressing some of the same concerns. The cabinet that was installed was much smaller than what I had previously, and spacer had to be used to make the cabinet fit correctly. The workmanship was good when it finally got completed. If you are not in a hurry to get the work done, then this is not a bad company to choose. Finally, Mike the carpenter was excellent, he was very conscientious about making sure the work was completed correctly. He needs to be commented for that.
I would like to see more diversity on the team.
Construction Zone was terrific. The guys were professional and courteous. I would and will highly recommend this company to all of my friends.
Construction Zone was sensitive to my schedule and always arranged a day and time to come to my home. The employees respected my furniture and employees were careful when moving my belongings, especially my piano.
Completed project despite being closed because of COD 19 virus. We were notified at the closing day and contacted later as the project was restarted again to completion. Good communications. Thanks.
Greg, Russ, and the rest of the crew are very good at what they do.
I was always able to get thru to the boss to get questions answered (which was not true of another firm I decided not to hire) and in addition to doing a really good job they went out of their way in a couple of instances to do a bit more than necessary.
Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. We are satisfied.
They were very professional. The folks showed up on time. I was very pleased.
WE WOULD RATE A 4 STAR.
They were very professional. They got out there immediately through our insurance company. They were all great guys!
This unfortunate experience was softened by a caring and efficient adjuster, Kelly! She was efficient, professional and thorough.
They were very polite and synthetic to my needs and I loved everyone at Construction Zone. They were very nice and everything they did was pretty much perfect.
Absolutely not.
Some of the work I found to be quite unsatisfactory.
Everyone I worked with at Construction Zone was very friendly.
This company was extremely unprofessional. Having an insurance claim that was relatively common, and the process being outlined by my insurance company, I thought the process would have been extremely painless and smooth. I was wrong. The initial plumber who came in was FANTASTIC and held onto his word with his scheduling, the rest of the construction process did not go the same way.
I am pretty much thoroughly happy.
You can leave your house and feel good your home is safe
Such a great team, excellent customer servicr, stayed on schedule and keep me informed throughout the process, best restoration company anyone could ask for!
Everybody was wonderful to work with. Everybody was courteous and professional. They did great job.
Everything was done to my satisfaction and they were very courteous.
Workers had to come out 3 times to finish one room that was painted. They missed so many spots that I had to mark them with tape. There was paint on the carpet. I home was in disarray for over a month. We are still waiting to have someone come out an correct the errors that they made in another room. Unprofessional, unqualified "handy men". Would NOT recommend them.
The project manager, Frank Gray, was absolutely excellent. You couldn't ask for a better project manager.
They responded to repairs but the initial quality was not done well. The foreman I spoke to never came out to see the job.
