Creative Property Restoration

We have personality plus . . . a commitment to beauty, strength and great living. We work with you and your home the way we would work with our own. In fact, owner Stephen McNiel has. In 1991, Stephen McNiel purchased a run-down Montrose bungalow and converted it into what the Houston Post called “the jewel of the neighborhood." Creative Property Restoration (CPR) was born.

Over the last seventeen years, CPR has grown more and more successful because we operate under the same simple philosophy that Stephen followed while restoring and remodeling his own home: Always uphold the integrity and quality of the work, for it is the ultimate expression of who we are.

Stephen McNiel has earned the exclusive designation of Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), one of less than 2,000 remodelers nationwide to achieve this designation from the NAHB (National Association of Homebuilders). CGR remodelers are recognized for demonstrating exceptional business integrity, technical competence and building a solid track record of customer satisfaction. Stephen has also been designated a Certified Remodeler (CR) by NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry). NARI Certified Remodeler are professional remodelers who provide a full range of remodeling services. To become a CR, candidates must posses skill and knowledge in a broad range of business management and technical skill areas.

In 2006, Stephen McNiel was elected by his peers to serve as president of the Houston Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), which he did until 2008. His commitment to ethical practices and member education combined with his years of experience and expertise made him a very successful leader, and he continues to contribute his time and talents to NARI.
