I would recommend Criner for any remodeling project. They were the most expensive bid for our project, but the quality, good communication and attention to detail were worth it.

We interviewed 3 contractors for our remodel and can not imagine having selected anyone else. At that first interview, Paul and his colleague really took their time listening to our needs and reviewing the property - they went up to the attic 3 times! Their process of putting in the time to plan properly up front made perfect sense to us. When overwhelmed by the cost of the project, Paul took the time to explain in writing, what was involved to make our vision a reality. He also helped us figure out ways to reduce the scope of the project and some of the cost.

It would depend entirely on the needs of the friend. Criner is expensive and someone who has the knowledge and expertise to make his or her own decisions about appliances, fixtures, finishes, etc. might not need the services Criner provides. Would recommend Criner only for someone who isn't comfortable making those decisions and would like careful hand-holding all the way. Would also point out that Criner's scheduling was impeccable--no long delays before the next subcontractor did his bit. If that was important, it would be a good reason to choose Criner.

The high quality of Criner Remodeling's workmanship and communication made our first remodeling experience a positive one, and we look forward to hiring Criner Remodeling again for other projects. This is the second remodeling project that we have employed Criner Remodeling. Like the first, on this project Criner exceeded our expectation. Paul Criner and his staff put together a comprehensive plan to address the infrastructure issues and 'nice to have' desires for our new home. Rich Padilla as Production Manager and Alex Hill as Project Manager, flawlessly executed the plan. They met the established timelines, and each day left the work site (our house) clean and orderly. In addition, they addressed emerging issues with solid recommendations, and timely execution. The routine (daily) communications with the team was excellent. No surprises. At the conclusion of the project, the Criner team conducted a walk-through with us to insure we were satisfied with all their efforts. We will engage Criner for any future remodeling project that we may have!
