This home, once the perfect bachelor pad for a busy surgeon, had to re-invent itself STAT to accommodate a new marriage, including the addition of two teenagers. While the majority of the open living space was originally designed for entertaining large groups of friends, it quickly became chaotic and noisy for this family of four. In addition, the bedrooms were small and there were only two bathrooms-a nightmare for the teenage boy and girl to share. Furthermore, there was little breathing room for the doctor's work at home, or for the couple to enjoy some private time together.
Since the home was located on a modest-sized lot, there was a limited footprint for expansion possibilities. After researching the available options, the clients chose to add a two story addition to the rear of the home while updating all existing interior areas. The result was a beautiful and functional layout that perfectly compliments the family's lifestyle.
