This great basement boasts a huge media room for gaming, sports, and entertaining. For more fun, you can move to the game room complete with a custom bar, its own huge flat screen TV, pool table, and foosball table. For those who like technology, the whole space can be controlled by a smartphone. With the touch of a button, homeowners can adjust the blackout blinds, the complete cutting-edge a/v system, lighting, fireplace, and more. Everything is concealed too, with custom a/v locations and hidden storage compartments built right into the front feature wall.
When our client moved to this area from Mexico, they wanted to bring with them a piece of home that would serve as a reminder of their family. Their basement was unfinished, which provided them the opportunity to design it the way they wanted. They asked us to design an exercise room, a bar, and a bathroom with a shower. Since our client's family designs and builds movie theaters around the world, they asked us to create a cinema in their basement to remind them of home. The standard was set high for us to create a cinema that compared to what they are used to!
We worked with BAAN Design to create a one-of-a-kind, upscale cabin on the shores of Camano Island in Washington state. It acts as a meeting place for a globetrotting family, who can spend quality time around the sleek fireplace and wall-mounted TV in this open-concept home. It boasts an enormous La Cantina 23' x 12' sliding glass wall and an open plan kitchen and loft to take advantage of the spot's gorgeous water and snow-capped mountain views. The homeowners decorated with a global flair, matching pieces they've brought back from their travels. It's the perfect spot to cozy up on the couch and cheer on Olympic winter athletes from around the world!
We designed the bar area to entertain Navy servicemen. Multiple televisions and a Bose home theatre system rivaled the best sports bars. We installed a huge arched mirror on the wall to create visual depth for the space. The coolest element was incorporating the name of the bar "Bloody Alibi" into the design. We came up with the idea to etch the name of the bar into the large arched mirror and backlight it with color changing LED lights. New and additional LED lighting were added all over the basement ceiling.
A beautiful 4 Seasons Room with lots of entertainment value. Enjoy watching the games on the three TV's wired to integrated speakers, with a beverage in your hand from the bar, all while the fire is going! The space is trimmed with large format tile, beadboard ceilings, and full glass panel doors to watch the snow fall while you cheer on USA!
The homeowners wanted a place to entertain guests. They wanted a cozy space with a bar and television. The project started with a wet basement. We had to dig out the walls to the foundation, remove the existing slate floor, and then waterproof the concrete base. We then stripped the walls down to the original brick, put in new flooring, custom cabinetry, and lighting to create a space that is perfect to watch their favorite team.
As your family grows up, so should your fun. In the case of this game room renovation, the clients wanted a space that met all their family entertainment needs, while also showing off their style and personality. Games and a bar were requisite; so was customizable lighting for movie nights, along with plenty of storage. However, the central challenge was unifying two very different tastes into one dynamic, fun and very grown up game room. Before renovation, the game room was cavernous and drab with only a tiny wet bar and no grounding aesthetic. After, a study in balancing styles, shapes and proportions, the new space is visually upscale and adult without sacrificing attitude or playfulness. Thoughtful design, on the other hand, ensures that no amenity is lacking to create an atmosphere of relaxation and entertainment. With form and function playing so well together, the future is looking a lot more fun.
This deck and sunroom combo includes a transition sunroom with Fortress decking board and RDI railing. We installed Armstrong ceiling planks to give it a more elegant look. We also did a concrete pad for the hot tub. The happy customers have been wanting a sunroom for years to have a place to spend time with family and friends.
The client installed a backyard swimming pool and wanted a portion of their walk-out basement to serve as a swimming pool changing room for parties, kids, family and friends. The client wanted to design something functional but fun, so Hopkins & Porter came up with the concept of an interesting, industrial-looking locker room. The space has lockers for storing dry clothes, showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Floor-to-ceiling sliding barn doors were used to give the space a unique feel, and refurbished and unusual details were used for the faucet and oversized sink to give the space a farmhouse feel. The benches were also repurposed for that locker room vibe.
This modern, new home construction is on a very small lot, so we tucked the screened-in porch in between the main floor and the master suite crow's nest up top. The space Iooks over the pool in the backyard and has screens over the openings. It also has retractable plastic screens to use during the pollen seasons.
This was a new house build project designed with an open living area. From the front door, dining room, and kitchen, the TV mounted above the fireplace can be seen. The TV above the fireplace is the perfect focal point for entertaining guests! Die-hard Olympic fans can camp out on couches and chairs in the living room. Semi-social foodies can migrate around the kitchen island snacking, talking, and eyeing the Winter Games every couple of minutes. Lastly, the non-sports fans can socialize around the dining room table; only looking up at the TV whenever shouts are heard from the U.S. taking home another gold! Just by the flip of a switch the fireplace can be turned on to feel the warmth in case guests are sensing the wintery air of PyeongChang through the screen. And for commercial breaks, the powder room is right around the corner from the kitchen. There is so much to see just by standing in one place! This living area is entertainer friendly and most definitely the hub of the house.
We created an outdoor entertainment area, adjacent to the pool, where family and friends can catch some shade, while grilling up their favorite summer (or winter) BBQ. With plenty of seating for entertaining and watching the games, this gathering space with a custom vaulted ceiling and fan is the perfect place to retreat to when a break from reality is needed.
The customer first came to us to talk about a building that would be multi-functional. They wanted a garage for vehicles, a basketball court for their three boys, a bathroom, a kitchen, a mezzanine, and a place for a golf simulator. They also wanted to be able to use the building for a large family gathering place. One of the main objectives of this build was to make the garage look like the house by using the same exterior materials. The finished product was the garage our customer envisioned and his garage dream come true.
This is a lower level remodel with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a workout room, a family room, and a game room. This project was done for a very active and athletic family that needed space for their two teenage boys and all of their friends to play pool, ping pong, floor hockey, and workout.
This custom multi-level, diverse outdoor living environment was built and completed to take advantage of the beautiful mountain views and extend the families entertaining and relaxing space. The Superior vinyl white railing with Black Aluminum balusters complement the Trex Transcend Spice Rum decking in an angled pattern with a border, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The upper level is shaded by the Superior Pergola adding detail and comfort for entertaining on the top level. The beautifully designed spiral steps bring the family and their guests to the bottom level entertaining living space with the installation of the under-deck drainage system allowing for a seamless living space transition. The beautifully overlaid and extended finished concrete accents the stone outdoor fireplace, which completes this stunning and versatile outdoor environment.
Our client wanted to convert their unfinished basement storage area into an Irish pub-style bar for hanging out and entertaining. The client's favorite pub, McKeever's Pub in Mclean, closed it's doors for good. Our client decided to buy as much of the furniture, memorabilia, etc. as he could to repurpose it and recreate the McKeever's atmosphere in his home.
This project included building a large outdoor covered living area so that the client can truly enjoy the stunning views. This area now includes new hardscaping, a fire pit, beautiful outdoor lighting, and a warm-feeling sitting area for family and friends to enjoy and entertain for years!
This Chicago home was completely remodeled from the main floor to the 3rd floor, with the goal of creating an open floor plan. We tore down the dividing walls allowing for entertainment to be artistically effortless. Picture warming up next to the fire with friends and family on a cold snowy Chicago day as the Winter Olympics entertains and brings everyone together. A room big and open enough to host many, a stunning and trendy spacious kitchen with bar stool seating offering plenty of countertop space to present appetizers and a mobile mini bar for drinks. The simplistic and quality materials of the space are inviting and appealing waiting to be shown off for the perfect occasion.
Sierra Classic Custom Homes is proud to present our extremely popular “Four Seasons Room.†This versatile living space can be added to many of our custom floor plans. The room is designed in a way that it can be opened to the conditioned living space of the home to provide additional room for larger gatherings or parties. The room is outfitted with a separate HVAC unit to allow for individualized climate control. Conversely, the room may also be closed off from the living space and opened up to the outdoors on good weather days. Finished with wood-look tile floors, a stately, stone fireplace, stained wood ceilings, multimedia speakers and a flat screen television; this room definitely qualifies as an exceptional entertaining space.
Located on the second floor of the Gabriel Builders Showroom, this handcrafted theater is a beautiful addition. The comfy leather seats are perfect for relaxing with a nice bowl of popcorn while you watch your favorite film. The rustic wood details mixed with the traditional brick bring a warm feeling to the space. State of the art technology delivers the full theater experience from the comfort of your own home. There's not a bad seat in the house! The only downside to this custom home theater? Trying to decide which movie to watch first!
This updated family room is the ideal entertainment space. The focal point of the room is the TV and modern, 6 ft. linear fireplace. Flanked by built-in cabinets, which include a wet bar, everything you need for entertaining is right at your fingertips. The entertaining area extends beyond the living room to the deck, where the TV is still visible through the large sliding glass doors.
The elevation changes in this backyard offered both challenges and opportunities. The client found a photo of a multilevel outdoor entertainment space that they liked on Houzz which we used as a guide as we designed their space. They wanted a pool that was different from any of their friends and family had so we were able to really have some fun with the project. Other elements that they were hoping to incorporate into the project included a gas fire pit, a pergola, sunken bar, and built in spa with a waterfall.
Lakeside Exteriors, Inc. was hired to help design and implement the design on the rear of the house. After a comprehensive design period, work began as we started the demolition and excavation. First, we started building the retaining walls using a Versa-Lok block. The pedestals were constructed with the same block with electric for lighting the lantern style fixtures. The concrete was then poured using an aggregate mixture with a brick border to tie in the front of the house. The shed style roof and framing of the screen room started to take place. We used the Screen-Eze material in order to get large openings on the face of the room. We installed 2 Provia storm doors on each side. The ceiling of the room was a pine tongue and groove material and was stained and sealed with a polyurethane. A decorative ceiling fan/light combo was installed. The interior floor of the room was completed with a stamped and stained concrete.
This original fourth bedroom was underutilized as square footage in this beautiful home. With a hobby of music and love of movies, the homeowners decided to create the ideal home theatre for listening to music and watching movies as a family. A comfortable space with high-level design, optimal viewing and sound quality was essential. Additionally, the homeowner desired a unique, private space, free of interruption during a great movie or during an empowered listening session. Sourcing a variety of materials such as the maple triangle diffusers to triangulate the room's sound perfectly and layered lighting such as the LED and fiber optics for ambiance and function achieved the necessary requirements the homeowners requested. The large hidden door and side bookcases, custom created to coordinate to the high end speakers, was designed not only for storage and to give a private 'cool' entrance but inadvertently opened up a zone for a lobby area.
This amazing transformation is truly an entertainers dream! This kitchen and living room addition has changed the way these homeowners live, and now they live to entertain! A gorgeous gas fireplace is flanked by custom built-in shelving and cabinets to include wine storage and a beverage fridge. Enjoy cozying up while watching the huge flat screen TV mounted on the custom tiled fireplace that spans from floor to ceiling. This great room is open to a custom chef's kitchen with a massive island that comfortably seats six. There is no shortage of space in this amazing kitchen, with its double sinks and custom gas range. There is plenty of room for guests to mingle and snack, grab a drink and chat, or watch the game and snuggle up by the fire. Invite all of your friends for your big event...you'll never miss a moment while watching the Olympics here!
This amazing basement transformation created an entertainment area that is flexibly used for other purposes in the clients' basement. This client wanted to create an inviting but still resilient space that could put up with the wear and tear of being a rec room for a young family, yet still look and feel like an extension of the rest of the home. It was important for the design to maximize the use of natural light as much as possible for a basement, so a new skylight and windows were added over the reimagined mudroom area in the new stair. The wanted to have extra living space with an easier transition to the backyard with more hidden storage, which was achieved completely. They also wished to add a heat-cooling system, which was done and hidden away.
Gather your friends to watch the 2018 Winter Games in this fully remodeled basement! No dark and damp basement feel here; this is a space for pure entertainment. Enjoy the natural light of the winter sun, the cozy feel of the fireplace, and the convenience of a kitchen just steps away from the couch! This gorgeous basement has it all, and not to mention a workout room and full bath on the same floor. What more could you need?
