We love our home and feel it is built with quality. The sales process was unfortunate. The ending was unfortunate.
From what we have heard from builders who use Dani Homes, Romanelli and Hughes, Old World Homes, it would seem as though our experience with 3 Pillar was less than smooth and
3.5 out of four best describes our overall experience.
Thank you all so much!
We truly love our home. The quality is top notch and the design works perfectly for our family. It has improved our quality of life and made many things much easier and more enjoyable.
A company is only as good as the people who work there so if you are looking for a great home you will be happy if you choose 3Pillar Homes. 3Pillar has a dedicated staff who are professional, knowledgeable and work together as a Team.
Incredible craftsmanship, design options, and flexibility throughout the build process.
I am so glad my daughter referred us to 3 Pillar. Everyone we interfaced with was so competent, professional, polite, and focused on our home. I have suggested to several people that are planning on building to use 3 Pillar. They built the home we wanted in our price range range that other builders would not.
Three pillars does an excellent job designing a home for using ever sq inch.
3 Pillar built us a beautiful home and made the process so easy. We lived out of state from our build and our project managers did a great job keeping us updated on progress. We received weekly email and photo updates. When we were in town for walkthroughs they were always thorough and all our questions and concerns were always addressed. The house was completed on schedule and final product exceeded all our expectations.
Very good quality with nice, professional people.
The entire 3 Pillar experience was amazing and we would recommend them for anyone wanting to build in Central Ohio. Their staff was very knowledgeable and more importantly communicated throughout the process and after closing.
We would not hesitate to use 3 Pillar Homes again and to recommend them to our closest friends and family. We had such a great experience.
My husband and I were very excited to build with 3 Pillar after falling in love with one of their model floorplans. However, that excitement turned to frustration as we moved through the construction process of our new home with the poor communication, number of mistakes from plan to execution, and inconsistencies in service from the builder and nearly every vendor partner. And, to this day (8 months post-close) we have never heard from 3 Pillar leadership thanking us or asking us how we like our new home. We are happy with our home now but it has taken time and a lot of anxiety to get us to where we are today.
Way overpaid for what we got. There's no difference in quality of materials between 3 Pillar and MI or a Dominion home. They all use the same vendors. Unfortunately. Besides being a custom home, don't see the benefit of choosing 3 Pillar. Feels like they build to the price point. Even though ours was a full custom home, still feels like a spec home. Several homes have already popped up looking very similar.
They treat you like family! They are the best service company to work with. We appreciative their attention to detail and thoughtfulness. Every step of the way felt like we were there most important customer and friends. They didn't ever treat us like business associates.
We have felt that the team at 3 Pillars genuinely cares. Though there are still some bigger issues we are working through, I've felt that the effort on their side is genuine.
We had great expectations when we started our construction process and did recommend them to some of our friends. However, that definitely fell short towards the closing and do not feel comfortable recommending to any of our friends or family.
The Custom building process was terrible. We used 3 Pillar architect to design our custom home only to find out that after the plans were submitted to the Design Review Board, there were things in our design that weren't allowed in the Development deisgn. We signed the contract and paid the downpayment and it took 4 additional months of back and forth to get a design that the Development would approve. Given we lived out of town and were only able to see the building every two weeks, there were things that weren't done correctly and it was difficult to get them corrected. We had several things that were never corrected and we were forced to accept as is. We had a final walk throught several weeks prior to closing and NONE of the items identified, were fixed. After closing we were assured that all the punchlist items were to be completed. The COVID-19 created another layer of complexity because items that were lingering, never got completed are still not completed. At the end of the building, there was a rush to get the exterior of the house painted. It was the middle of the winter when the work was completed. The paint is peeling on the house in many places and the front door is peeling. We are still waiting for any of the outside items to be corrected and the inside items will be completed when the COVID-19 restrictions make it safe to enter into our home. The end product is beautiful but unfortunately, tainted because the process was so rocky.
If I was to build again, there is no doubt they will be the builder again.
I would not recommend 3 Pillar to a friend. This was a very painful process and similar to having another job.
Additional Comments - This is our third time to build and 3 Pillar was the best builder by far.
Great experience. Very professional team.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Delivering the achitecture. Managing time as best as they could. Providing great value for the money and working hard to deliver results
I will strongly recommend 3pillar for my friends.
We love 3Pillar Homes. Great home building experience.
The Team at 3 Pillar did a great job. All the staff, supplier, crew and subs were professional, respectful and responsive to our project. They did a great job, thanks!
Quality of work is inferior to neighbors who have similar homes by different builders.
We have issues with water retention in our backyard. We have noticed and spoken to 3 pillars several times with no resolve. They sent someone out to look at it, confirmed it shouldn’t be like that and said they would speak to the owner. That was 6 months ago and we haven’t heard anything from them.
Recognized Excellence - I would like to recognize Brooke for her exceptional service.
Areas Of Satisfaction - My husband thought they worked hard to resolve problems.
I would let them know what 3 Pillar did well, along with their weaknesses.
We hired 3 Pillar Homes to build our dream home. The contract specified the contractor would use commercially reasonable efforts to complete the construction within two-hundred forty (240) days. Ground was broken on January 17, 2013. We moved into our home 485 days later.
In March 2014, Zenios presented a settlement agreement. It included a Non-Disparagement/Confidentiality clause that prevented us from disclosing the terms of the agreement.
When we rejected the settlement agreement, he modified the clause to state “may verbally provide honest feedback regarding owners building experience and builders quality of workmanship to anyone who may inquire of owner”. We still refused to sign.
We consulted an attorney and in February 2016 filed a lawsuit. The Arbitrator’s Decision and Award is available online through the Delaware County Clerk of Courts. Click on Records Search. Enter 3 Pillar in the Company Name field. Click on Case 16 CV H 02 0087. The document is the Miscellaneous entry on 9/05/2017.
In January 2018 our bathroom pipes froze for the 5th time. 3 Pillar's remedy stretched into May with our bathroom toilet sitting in the shower for 3 months. 3 Pillar finally agreed to have an outside contractor complete the demolition and reconstruction of our exterior bathroom wall. That work is almost complete, hence the completion date entered above.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with the communication and keeping us informed with what was happening.
Lead Source - We had a friend who built with them and they recommended them.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with the workmanship and the customer service.
Lead Source - I just wondered into the model home and I did have a couple of neighbors from my old community to recommend 3 Pillar Homes.
We have built 7 homes in the last 20 years and this was by far the worst experience and poorest finished product we have ever had.
