From day one, they were upfront and transparent about everything, and they made no apologies for the fact that they were more expensive than other companies, but justified it, due to the quality of their work. And that turned out to be 100% true. They communicated exceptionally, showed up on time every day, and did amazing work. The quality of the work, and the professionalism of every single person from the company was worth the extra cost. Zero regrets. I would refer them all day long. When I moved in, I dealt with several contractors from several different industries, including plumbing, electricity, general, construction, landscaping, etc. By far, Alan Smith was the most competent, professional, and trustworthy contractor I dealt with.

The quality of work performed by Alan Smith Pools on the remodel and renovation of our swimming pool was outstanding. The attention to detail and craftsmanship demonstrated throughout the project exceeded our expectations. From the initial demolition to the final touches, the workmanship was consistently excellent.

Workers' Professionalism:

The workers assigned to our project were not only highly skilled but also remarkably professional. They approached their tasks with dedication and efficiency, demonstrating a strong work ethic and respect for our property. Their courteous demeanor and willingness to address any concerns or questions were greatly appreciated.

Salesman Involvement:

Rob Penticoff, the salesman from Alan Smith Pools remained actively engaged and accessible throughout the entirety of the project. His excellent communication skills ensured that we were always kept informed of the project's progress and any relevant updates. His commitment to customer satisfaction was evident, and his presence added significant value to the overall experience.

Project Manager Performance:

However, we were somewhat disappointed with the performance of the Project Manager assigned to our project. There appeared to be a lack of investment and proactive involvement on his part. Unlike the salesman, the Project Manager did not demonstrate the same level of awareness or engagement with our project. His apparent disconnect and limited communication left us feeling uncertain and overlooked.

Handling of Change Orders:

We experienced four change orders throughout the course of the project, one major and three minor. While the communication regarding the major change order was satisfactory and justified, we found the communication regarding two of the three minor change orders to be lacking. The sudden introduction of these minor changes without sufficient prior communication was unexpected and could have been handled more effectively.

Overall Assessment:

In summary, while the quality of work and professionalism of the workers were exemplary, the experience was somewhat marred by the lackluster performance of the Project Manager. Despite this, we are appreciative of the efforts put forth by Alan Smith Pools and recognize the exceptional contributions of the salesman in ensuring the project's success. Moving forward, we hope that Alan Smith Pools will address the shortcomings identified in our evaluation to further enhance the customer experience and maintain their reputation for excellence.

I probably would have reservations about recommending Alan Smith. They are very expensive.
