This was the fifth (!) remodeling project I hired Beyond Kitchens for (3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining room). I’ve been very happy with their work in the past and this time was no exception. They are easy to work with, communicate clearly, and work with a talented and thoughtful group of subcontractors. They are very thorough and address any underlying problems head-on (for example, structural concerns regarding the room being worked on). Their design skills and willingness to incorporate my preferences are amazing. They also do a great job of anticipating any delays and do their best to keep the project moving along. My most recent project, my dining room, turned out better than anything I could have imagined or accomplished on my own.

I’d had previous experience with Beyond Kitchens and knew I could rely on them to use skilled subcontractors and address any issues that might come up with subcontractors. I suspect I could have remodeled at a slightly lower cost but for me not having to deal with these issues was worth any extra cost. They certainly know more about all aspects of remodeling than I do and I knew I could trust them.

This was our first experience with an extensive home remodel of our kitchen, primary bathroom, and powder room. We especially appreciated BK’s design expertise, their skilled subcontractors, and careful review of completed work. We enjoy cooking, and our beautiful new kitchen has a much more useable and functional layout.

My experience with BK was very positive from beginning to end! I spoke with several other firms and individuals before I selected BK and when I met with BK it was hands down, the place for me. I felt we connected from the beginning and there is definitely a relationship that needs to develop in order to start, endure, and land a successful remodel. I liked their process (they had one)! I liked their ability to listen to what I wanted and needed out of the project. Finally, I liked their honesty about what to expect and not to expect. Throughout the process I always felt they had time for me and were willing to respond to my questions. In other words, their customer service was impeccable and the success of a remodeling project of this scope requires that, to say the least. This is the second time we've used Beyond Kitchens for a remodel project. We really appreciate the time and effort they spent listening to us and putting together a fabulous that exceeded our expectations. We were remodeling a mud room / laundry room / pantry that was unattractive and not functional. They helped us put together a room that is not attractive, efficient and that works. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. The price for the work done and the project was completed on time.

The staff at Beyond Kitchens is extremely creative and competent in their design ability but at the same time they really listened to us and considered our preferences. They fully understood what was possible and practical in remodeling our space and came up with a final plan that we really liked and fit within our budget. They were also very committed to and successful in solving the inevitable remodeling problems as they came up during the construction. The photo gallery on Beyond Kitchen website gave me inspiration for an updated kitchen in my townhouse. The basic layout was functional, but I wanted space for a larger fridge and other updates. I did not want to make one change now to rethink it later when wanted another change. Instead I made decision to work with professionals to remodel the kitchen and accomplish everything on my wish list.

Beyond Kitchen did an excellent job explaining the service they provided, what to expect during the remodel and time and cost expectation.

As a retired project manager I appreciated the company's attention to detail during the remodeling project.

Construction Quality - The sub-contractors did a great job. There a few things that had to be adjusted after initial installation, but Katie immediately contacted the sub-contractors and issues were resolved in 24 hrs.

This provided excellent continuity during project. Everyone was very prompt in answering my questions. When there was a problem (example plumber and electrical) Katie was quick to get sub-contractors there to resolve. Loved the attention to small details, I never thought about heating vents or outlets, yet those were taken care and that made finish project look polished.

Wow! What can we say. We chose Beyond Kitchens for a master bath remodel. They exceed our expectations in every way. Prior to choosing them, we talked with several other designers/contractors. We decided to choose Beyond Kitchens as they were the only one who really listened to us. We provide more details in the comments below. Suffice it to say, we would definitely go with them again.

Scope Of Work - The scope of work was meticulous and clear. One of the nice things Beyond Kitchen does is they bring all the subcontractors together at the job site before the project is even started, to assess the project, make sure every thing that can be is assessed, and to clarify which subcontractor will do what. The team is more than just Beyond Kitchens - it includes the subcontractors, a great group of people who work well with each other, with Beyond Kitchens, and with us.

Schedule

Schedule - This remodel occurred during the COVID pandemic. There were suppliers who unexpectedly shut down due to COVID. Child care providers were exposed, causing difficulties for subcontractors. Despite all this, Beyond Kitchens and the subcontractors worked so well, they finished only 3 days after the scheduled finish - except for the one component where the supplier couldn't deliver until a couple of weeks later. This was truly remarkable work.

Construction Quality - Everyone working on this project was a true craftsperson, and they all took pride in their work. It shows in the true quality of the final product.

Communication

Communication - We were told of everything going on in a timely fashion. Katie, the project manager, was easily accessible to us and responded promptly and cheerfully to any questions we had.

Problem Resolution - As with any remodel, unexpected things occur. For this project, the problems were handled rapidly and seamlessly. Part of this is as the subcontractors work so well with Beyond Kitchens as well as with each other.

Design Favorite - I love the fact that the sink in my master bath could be relocated — it makes the room feel so much bigger. I also love the shower space in the master bath being opened up.
