Bluestem’s architect and designer came up with options that exceeded what I’d been presented with before. The team works so well together and all are really knowledgeable and experienced that I feel the project, so far, has gone really smoothly.

Bluestem did a good job at creatively coming up with solutions (floor planning, responding to changes) to our basement project. However we felt there were some things which could have gone smoother during our project.

Bluestem is an excellent remodeling company. We appreciated the communication and transparency. This was our first remodel with no surprises! The design team was great with paring down options and helping us get just the look we wanted. The on-site team was friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a newborn and during a pandemic!

I appreciated that Bluestem took the time to understand what I wanted and let those conversations guide the project and recommendations made. The communication was excellent. I'm not an expert in building but they always took the time to explain things I wanted to understand better. Any issues were addressed in a timely manner. I really liked that they explained the options but also shared their professional opinions - that made it easier to make informed choices and not dwell on questions for too long. My project started during the uncertainty of the pandemic and they were flexible and conscientious as we figured out how to navigate the project.

I have been recommending this company to everyone I know. They were so communicative, responsible and great problem solvers. All the staff were very personable. They sincerely cared about you and your project and getting it right for you. They stayed on time and budget. They were also flexible when I wanted something added. They knew what your goals were and remembered them. They kept their eye on the ball that you described. It was so nice not to have to worry about someone ghosting you or dropping the ball like is usual in this industry.

The design and implementation team was great. The high-level estimate provided before we signed up was probably half of what the actual cost was. I don't think it was intentional but my guess is Timothy is out of touch with what actual costs are today. Push to get the right level of estimate and detail you need for everyone to be confident in the price for the scope

This is the third major house remodel project we have completed and have worked with Bluestem on two of the three. The experiences with Bluestem have been superior to our interaction with other design build firms as well as interactions with other contractors on smaller projects. The success of our projects with Blustem have been predicated on a relational reality rather than a simplistic transaction or punch list. Bluestem did an excellent job on our total kitchen remodel. They listened to what we wanted and offered ideas and suggestions that we really appreciated. Communication with our project manager, construction manager, and designer was easy and ongoing. Lots of info back and forth. All options over and above our original bid were documented and we had to choose and approve so there were no budget surprises. Site prep and daily clean up was great. On time and budget!

Overall, BlueStem delivered a product that aligned with my expectations for the project. There were a few hiccups along the way that, in hindsight, could have been resolved with more proactive communication from the BlueStem team. When these issues occurred and we were able to have conversations about them, they were able to find ways to resolve them to a level that left me satisfied. The team treated my home with respect and were usually responsive to questions I had. Overall, I would recommend them. They didn't shy away from issues and addressed my concerns as they arose. In the end, I have a beautiful basement that is fully finished, a new bathroom and a functionally efficient utility/laundry area.

My experience with Bluestem was extremely positive overall. The online management system (Co-Construct) was a wonderful way to make sure that communications were clear and that we had a say over all costs. I have spoken with others who said their projects went 30% over budget and they were amazed when I told them ours did not go a penny over budget. There were no "surprises." For the few things that went wrong (the wrong tub sent from the manufacturer), Bluestem worked diligently to make it right and make up any time lost. They worked their schedule around a family event that we had so as to minimize disruption. Tamatha is an amazing designer and a wonderful problem-solver. Timothy truly cares about his customers' satisfaction. All of the Bluestem workers were polite and treated our home as if it were their own. They did not leave messes or debris around and they met promised schedules. We had a very bad experience with a prior remodel. This one was the complete opposite - it was excellent. I highly recommend Bluestem. You can trust them!
