Communication throughout build process could’ve been better. There were some big oversights that needed to be repaired and wasn’t done until the week or two prior to closing.

I would absolutely recommend Buffington Homes to a friend or family member. What truly sets them apart is the people who work for the company. Every person we interacted with took genuine pride in their work and cared about building strong, respectful relationships with buyers.

Throughout the process, the team was professional, responsive, and transparent. It never felt transactional — instead, it felt like they were invested in delivering a home we’d love. Their attention to detail and willingness to communicate made a stressful process feel manageable and reassuring.

I just went through the design build process and would definitely recommend Buffington. Start to finish, the process was smooth with steps laid out in advance so I knew the timelines of what to expect. Selecting design options was fun and stress free thanks to the help of the Buffington Design Professional and having samples of options available for view in Buffington’s design center. My Buffington sales rep and field manager called each week during construction to answer any questions and provide an update on what had been done that week and what was scheduled for the following week. Construction was completed on schedule and the team worked hard to make sure any last minute inspection items were resolved before closing. After closing, the warranty portal makes it easy to have any warranty items addressed, and the warranty team is extremely responsive. This is my second Buffington home and I’ve had a great experience with both. It’s evident Buffington makes customer satisfaction a top priority.

Quality construction, great sales person

I appreciate the 60-day warranty check-in. It was very helpful. Mike is a perfect representative for Buffington. We have also had professional interactions with Buffington's trade partners as well. We appreciate the system that Buffington has in place for their homeowners.

Overall, we had a great experience. We love our home, the location, and the result of what we chose to build.

Knowing what we now know I would tell someone that the house is well built but be aware that these are high end cookie cutter homes with options. But know that these options after selection may not be communicated with the tradesmen. I would tell someone to constantly check your change order before the pre-drywall walk through as well as after and keep on top of it. We had a few issues and one was not completed (Gas Line) to the laundry room until shortly before closing. It was pointed out prior to sheet rock but was never corrected and when I brought it up I was told that it was not included. I had to show my copy of the changed order where I had it highlighted. It was taken care of but Sheetrock and insulation had to be taken out and replaced. If I haven’t been proactive we would not have a gas line to hook our gas dryer into. I actually felt like a field manager.

I would recommend them because the house is good quality and we haven't had any trouble or any problems along the way. They fixed anything immediately.

Semi custom is great. Design studio was awesome. Updates and communication were impeccable.

They were very responsive. Quick to fix anything that you are not happy with about the house.

So far the whole building process/closing process with Buffington has been great. I would definitely recommend it to friends/family.

Buffington has met our needs on following up with issues and we feel the quality is good enough to recommend to others.

After taking handoff I noticed issues with circuit breakers, water leak in walls, Thermostat fixed in reverse, one floor will operate by setting temperature in another floor. Cracks on there at the handoff itself. concrete floor is not level properly water is getting staggment on the floor. Doors are not fixed properly seeing leaks with weather proof. Wow such a mess from great buffington homes. I felt really bad with my decision.

We are very happy with our Buffington Home! The home turned out so well, and we continue to think "Is this house really ours?!" I had experienced people I trust check out the home and every one of them talked about how well the home was constructed. Any issues I had after we had moved in (not a lot and minor) were promptly attended to. Ricky was so helpful from beginning to end, and our construction manager, Grant, was amazing through the building process and after.

I have always admired Buffington Homes for the quality of its houses, designs, and craftsmanship, and I was genuinely excited about the prospect of purchasing my home with the Buffington brand. However, my recent experiences with some of the sales and operations teams have been disappointing. Their approach and communication are not reflecting the high standards and strong reputation that Buffington is known for. It’s unfortunate to see that the professionalism and customer care expected from such a respected builder are not consistently demonstrated by the team members representing the company. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I still believe in the Buffington Homes brand and want to see it uphold its commitment to excellence across every level of customer interaction.

The overall quality is very nice, the process was smooth, and everybody explained everything they were doing all the way through, so there were no surprises.

Build quality is poor. Attention to details for a $1m+ homes is extremely poor

Challenging to understand pricing ahead of time to be transparent on final costing.

Follow through on what you promised in terms of weekly calls and updates. Make sure you have the pre-drywall meeting. Ours did not happen. Have your contracted landscape/maintenance crew cut down the tall bushes around the water feature that is the front view of the neighborhood.

Overall very pleased with the process of lot selection, designing the home and the construction process.

It was a great experience. They showed strong professionalism, and they have excellent communication.

I absolutely would recommend Buffington to a friend, and I already did to my parents who built a house too! Everything about Buffington is amazing from the emphasis on family to the expert craftsmanship of the homes they build. They really are setting you up to live a fairytale!

The lot booking and contract signing amount is 4% of the property cost, which is quite high

We have experienced issues from start to finish, still even now. Starting with a “dry closing” because the fence wasn’t done. Were promised we would still receive our keys even with dry closing but they refused to release them. Had to wait hours at the title office while that was figured out. We have been promised new sod for months now, haven’t heard anything again. It is dead and or destroyed (in the front ruined by the trades walking/driving through it). Now, we have just spent money to buy grass seed and fix it ourself. The outdoor fireplace was not properly constructed or even completed before we moved in (we only just learned about this 2 weeks ago). Warranty department is wonderful though. Apparently notes were left to make corrections/fixes on fireplace by the tradesman before the house was complete but it was never done. Waiting to hear from masonry people and gas plumbing person for outdoor fireplace, still haven’t called. 4 neighbors have shared about similar issues regarding sod and incorrect items in construction. Jillian is amazing and is one of the only reasons this whole process wasn’t even more of a nightmare. She and the warranty department get all the praise.

We felt like we knew what was going on each and every step of the way. We never felt blind about any step of the process, and felt we could trust the answers provided to us. Mostly, we believed that Buffington would stand by what they said.

There is no quality in anything you have build here. No quality of work at all. Within 1 month f our stay I have to reach out to your warranty team about several different issues and all they say is ‘This is not covered’ I guess this should be your tagline now.

We are so excited about our new home! Not only was it completed on schedule, but it is also a beautiful and high-quality house. Grant was the real MVP throughout the entire process - he was very communicative and knowledgeable! We trusted our house was in good hands.
