An absolutely amazing job!
Being skeptical of many contractors and builders, I was hesitant to take on a large remodeling project. From the time Ken Combs visited for an initial consultation to our photography shoot with LaTina and their professional photographer, CQC consistently performed above our expectations, way above! Remodeling a house built in 1968 can present interesting challenges especially when one of the walls being removed was load bearing, or duct work to nowhere, or demoing parkay flooring, classic 1970's. Stephanie helped us visualize our new space with 3D modeling and suggestions for our island in size, cabinetry, and top and where it was to be located. We took all of her recommendations. Patrick, bless him, had to work with the city of Durham for permits which is no small feat when you live in a 100-year flood plane. Erika kept things manageable in the process and selected everything in our powder room and was always there to answer questions. Dickon met with us during the project kickoff taking into account preferences related to the construction - times, vacations, expectations, etc. to ensure a smooth overall project which it was. Rodney was methodical in demoing and finishing work, including digging two footers through the floorboard and crawlspace in support of our upstairs since a load-bearing wall was being removed. During demo, every day was left clean and usable. But, my heartfelt kudos goes to Matt, the lead carpenter. The anticipation of challenges, attention to detail, thinking of how something could be better - all was at the forefront of his mind during the project. Frankly, although I am sure other lead carpenters are great at the company (its built into the culture) I would ask for Matt for all future projects. The attention to detail was truly amazing and his experience showed in every aspect of his work. He (and everyone else) was so communicative through co-construct which is an great project management platform that CQC uses. Every message was answered timely, completely and proactively. Use it! It works great but only works as good as the company using it and CQC's use of it makes it great. The sub-contractors are the hardest to wrangle and Matt and Dickon were like rodeo stars wrangling the contractors to get the work done which leads me to the project being completed ON-TIME and ON-BUDGET! How many times have you seen that from a contractor? I would highly recommend CQC for any building and remodeling projects. This project feels like CQC has given us a brand new home.
When we started, I had no idea of design or how the space could be used. It is a 25-year old home and master and guest bathrooms were in dire need of renovation. CQC helped me design two awesome spaces - lots of room and light! I was equally appreciative of the tremendous project team responsible for "making the dream come true". They always responded to any issues/concerns I had within hours. And the space was kept extremely clean and uncluttered, even in the middle of demolition. I am particularly pleased with the Master Shower and Vanity area and new organized closet! Why did I wait so long to do this! Call CQC today - they are fantastic!
We are absolutely loving our renovated garage! Rod and Matt did an amazing job with the demolition, construction, and management of the project. They were always kind and respectful of our space, and they were excellent communicators. Plus we enjoyed having them around! CQC is truly a customer service-focused company, and they did what it took to keep us happy - including staying on schedule. Everyone we dealt with - Dickon, Raymond, LaTina, Ericka, and Ken - was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend CQC for their quality work, customer focus, and professionalism. Thank you, CQC Team!
Better than most contractors, CQC Home does its preliminary work, like drawings and 3D renderings, to give the client a detailed view of how the finished product might look. All costs and options are discussed up front. The working professionals and management are very pleasant to deal with and they will go the extra mile to see that the client is satisfied.
CQC did a fantastic job completing 3 bathroom renovations on budget and on schedule. The team was professional, courteous and hard working. The communication was consistent with a true intent to deliver a quality product. I would not hesitate to recommend or use CQC in future project needs.
CQC is a great firm to work with. The knowledge of the designers and managers helped to create beautiful spaces that are modern, functional and efficient. Everyone was respectful of my home by keeping it clean and my work schedule for late day walkthroughs. Everyone was so nice and easy to work with on the site and in the office.
We hired CQC to remodel our kitchen, master bathroom and fix up some things throughout the house, including the other two bathrooms and the laundry room. We are absolutely delighted with how our renovations came out. Estimates regarding time and cost were very accurate. Since we had so much work to be done, we moved out of our house, put our household good in storage and turned our house over to CQC Home to do what had to be done at the beginning of November. They told us at then, that the final walk through would be on January 9th. And in two months and one week later, despite the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we had our final walk through at 4:30 pm on January 9th and the list of remaining punch items were small in number and minor in scope.CQC Home manages additional rental properties near their office, so we were able to rent from them a comfortable bungalow for the time it took to do the renovations at a reasonable price rather than have to find accommodations on our own for the relatively brief period of time.Communications throughout the entire process were impressive in their transparency. We always knew what was going on and there were never any surprises. Members of the CQC Home staff answered all of our questions and addressed all of our concerns with the highest level of professionalism. There was clear coordination with other vendors. The new oven and microwave fit properly into the new cabinetry, despite it coming from different organizations. The granite counter tops fit precisely on the new cabinetry in the kitchen and all three bathrooms. The wood flooring matched the wood flooring we had in our foyer area.It is clear that CQC Home is interested in providing high quality workmanship and that they stand behind the work that they do. All work passed local inspectors the first time, avoiding having to do rework to bring things up to code. When we discovered we had a leak under the kitchen sink, the plumber they subcontract out to was there the following day, found what turned out to be both problems, fixed them then and there without incurring any additional expense to us.In speaking with friends who have had renovation work done, it is usually to relate some dreadful experience of missed deadlines, additional expenditures, constant miscommunication and the like. We had none of that with CQC Home. They did what they said they would do. They finished the work when they said it would be done. And they stand behind the work that was done. We are enormously impressed with their integrity and would not hesitate to hire them again if we ever needed to do any renovation work. We enthusiastically recommend them to anyone considering doing home renovations.
