At the time we signed the contract we were told there would be a project manager. Prior to beginning the project I asked about the project manager and was told it was the owner of the company. I rarely saw him ( maybe my expectations were too high) and there were multiple mistakes. Fortunately I was on top of it and many issues were resolved prior to installation.
Some examples are the room was initially painted the wrong color, the screens were wrong and had to be reordered, the pocket doors were wrong and had to be reordered, the electrician had to come three times to complete the agreed upon electrical work, and the project took 6 months instead of three. At the conclusion of the renovation, the contractor didn’t come to inspect the final project, but sent someone else.

Based on a great experience, we would definitely recommend!

Ours was a big job that required a strong, competent contractor. We feel that Cunningham Contracting rose to the challenge of getting the finished project we envisioned.

Poor planning on many phases but some exceptional in-house employees worked through them. Sub-contractors were average to poor.
A few examples:
1) Sunroom addition's roof constructed poorly, had to be torn off and rebuilt.
2) Septic tank pipe damaged, had to be repaired.
3) Left our Pella doors and screens in the weather for nearly a year; one had to be replaced, others repaired and cleaned up.
4) Newly constructed stairs were too wide and intrusive, had to be modified and rebuilt.
5) Left mounds of debris in backyard for over a year.
6) Original estimate of completion was Mar 2022; actual was Jan 2023.

I would only recommend if I had the time to explain the pluses and minuses of the work; see below. So yes, three stars - neutral on recommendation.

Great combination of knowledge, experience an creativity. SO easy to wok with on all aspects of the project. Everything is clearly explained, unexpected problems are dealt with without drama and everyone on every crew has gone above and beyond our expectations.

Cunningham Contracting has several positives. Exceeding code. Example: The base of our deck stairs now sits on concrete. Code is on the ground. Workers are polite, call us by our last name, Mr. or Mrs——-, keep a clean work place. Quality of work is excellent.

Cunningham Contracting has been great to deal with from the start of our kitchen remodeling project. They have been able to take our ideas and make them a reality. All of the work has been what we expected from this highly recommended company. We cannot wait until the project is finished and we start using this beautiful new kitchen.

They were are a total solution provider from design through fabrication and did a great job.

Steve likewise is attentive to details, and has been extremely reliable in our buildout of an outdoor space for our home. He designed this space both on the upper and lower levels, and is managing the entire process so we have no worries.

Great work and very reliable. They were also very friendly and informative about the product we were searching to use as our new backsplash.

Time and time again we were delightfully surprised by Cunningham Contracting. Almost every detail was done better than we imagined it could be. Great to work with, and the workmanship was top-notch on our kitchen/dining remodel. They even touched-up/fixed some places where the original construction was a bit shoddy.
