The workmanship and materials were great. The Build aspect is very good, but the Design part is weak. We did get some good tips when picking materials, such as the railings. But if anyone has a specific look in mind for their project, they should hire an archetect to work out the design and all the details before bringing the project to Design Builders.

Start to finish they were extremely professional, responsive, and exactly what you expect from a high end builder.

I highly recommend Design Builders to others looking to create a high-quality living space. Their professionalism and well-organized flow of work made the process much less stressful, especially knowing that the professionals at Design Builders were with me every step of the way as I figured out what I wanted and they helped me to make it happen. We had a pleasant experience working with Design Builders. Pedro and rest of the on-site team were professional and dedicated, working through some very cold weather. Any issues that came up were addressed and resolved in a timely manner. The online project management portal took some getting used to, but worked effectively to track tasks and keep everyone informed of progress. We also appreciate that DB took extra care to seamlessly integrate the screen porch to the existing structure. It looks great and we love it!

I had a bad experience similar to other low-raters. At first Design Builders seemed like a good firm to handle a big, complex deck rebuilding project. But after James initially estimated the project would be within our ballpark budget, he wrote a proposal that was nearly twice that much, and when I balked and asked him to explain, he hung up on me -- a very emotional move I've never seen from a professional businessman before. Moreover, during a proposal review session he attempted to charge me $250 for, he allotted only one hour's time for discussing the essential parts of the complex project, and spent the first two-thirds of the time insisting on talking about extras that we didn't even want, especially in light of the inflated price he proposed for the basic project. Overall, we'd warn you away from James because he overcharges and acts unprofessionally toward potential customers.

The project came in on time and the customer service was excellent.

The final product is well done and exactly what we wanted. The pricing is fair and Jamie provided helpful ideas and suggestions during the design process. However, there were a few things during the execution of the project that could have gone smoother and created some unneeded stress.

DB is an excellent contractor. Every aspect of the process (pre-planning, rough-in, final inspection) was executed without a hitch. The project was completed early and on budget, which is almost unheard of. DB’s subs were equally professional. All-in-all, I would highly recommend DB, and, should the need arise, I would gladly hire them again.

I recently had four Fenetex motorized, retractable screens installed on my backyard open porch. There was a little delay with installation date, but only because of issues with the manufacturer. All time best customer service, product, and most importantly to me, clear communication and follow up. The Fenetex retractable screens are a great addition to my home. Very high quality, invisible when they're open, and the best solution to enjoy the beauty of an open porch without having to worry about bugs.
