The timeframe for the project was "right on!" The design team, who helped in the selection of materials, were very helpful. Our experience was most favorable.

Experience overall was great! I love the end result, which is the most important thing. The DiFabion team (employees + subcontractors) brings a lot of expertise to to the inevitable challenges of remodeling existing homes. They always had solutions to problems and I never worried that the quality of work would be anything but top notch, They are not cheap, but I don’t think anyone doing this quality of work is. I appreciate not being nickeled and dimed to death with additional charges with all the punch list items at the end — they’re generous with the expertise of their carpenters. Communication was generally smooth and responsive, and I always felt like I had a team of people advocating for me.

DiFabion Remodeling did a fantastic job on our garage and second story addition. Their team worked hard from the beginning of the project to the end to create the perfect addition to our home. Everyone agrees that it looks like the addition was always a part of our home, which is exactly what we wanted!

We were in the market to remodel our 15yo home's first floor to achieve better flow and update features and materials. Kitchen, master bath, LR, DR, laundry, porch, powder room, master closet, and back entrance. After exhaustive research into General Contractors, custom builders, etc., we chose to go with DiFabion based on a few different criteria. First, they specialize in remodels and not all types of construction which makes them knowledgeable about potential issues that may, and will, come up in the course of a remodel. Next, their outstanding reputation for doing quality work, and last but not least, they manage every aspect of the project in-house, from design to completion.

We were pleasantly surprised (having dealt with numerous contractors over many years) that the communication was very clear and transparent regarding cost, timeline, unexpected issues, etc. Everything from payment schedules to weekly work updates were crystal clear before any work was started. The most pleasant surprise (shock, really) of all was how clean the worksite was left everyday. Even after days of major demo, walls and ceilings ripped apart, there wasn't a spec of sawdust left on the ground. Also, they were extremely punctual; work days began and ended every day at the same time. They were quiet and respectful of our neighbors and so were the sub-contractors who had obviously been advised by DiFabion what was expected at job sites. We had numerous positive comments from neighbors about that over the course of the remodel which from demo to completion took 8 months (yes, we moved into an apartment).

All that being said, at the end of the day it's about the final product. Our house looks absolutely amazing. The craftsmanship and materials used, as well as working together toward a mutual design goal, made for a very impressive end result. Absolutely worth the time and cost to modify the home we already loved into one that not only looks beautiful, but is much more functional than before.

I know contractors are hard to come by these days, and the wait may be long, but don't sell your home short out of impatience. DiFabion is worth waiting for.

We are so glad we chose DiFabion for our 1st Floor/Kitchen remodel. The entire experience from our first meeting to the close out of our project far exceeded our expectations. Starting an entire first floor remodel during a pandemic/quarantine left us feeling anxious but DiFabion did everything they could to not disrupt our need to work/school from home and took all of our apprehension immediately away once work started. Executed a major remodel well and kept on schedule during a very challenging time (pandemic), aside from a prudent pause in work during shelter-in-place period. Good job managing their sub-contractors to keep it a turnkey project. Excellent quality materials and expert craftsmanship, and flexible response to change orders. In a nutshell, they said what they were going to do and did it. This was our second project with DiFabion and we didn't even seek other quotes due to our high confidence in their abilities.

My wife and I decided that rather than move, we wanted to make our current home exactly what we wanted it to be. Thank goodness we found the team at DiFabion. From the initial discussion regarding what we wanted through the final walk through, the team at DiFabion was fantastic. The quality of the work, communication, and design direction throughout the process were excellent. The team really listened to what my wife and I wanted and gave us great design option to choose from. Our project was big (addition, larger kitchen, new powder room, re-done master bathroom and master closet, enlarged kid's bathroom, cover on our deck, relocated laundry room) so communication was key for my wife and I when deciding who we wanted to use. The DiFabion team couldn't have been better in this aspect of the job - we received updates weekly on the schedule, and had the chance to talk to the team on site if we had any questions. The design help was also fantastic. The DiFabion team shopped with us when we picked bath and kitchen fixtures, and appliances, and gave great guidance to make sure we stayed on budget.

I would happily recommend DiFabion to anyone interested in a remodel, and if we decide to do anything else to our house we will use them again.

Additions to your home can be a stressful and frustrating time. It is a big project and you want it to be perfect. We could not have been more satisfied with the process we went through with DiFabion and the end result. DiFabion did a great job of making the experience pleasant and even enjoyable. Doug, the lead contractor, has a great eye and amazing attention to detail. He ensures that everyone on the project has the same. We only had very minor issues crop up during construction and each one was addressed immediately with no fuss. Our relationship started with a small job several years ago – take out a wall to open up two rooms. Simple and straightforward, but we got the full deal – a clear and comprehensive estimate, on-time performance (start and finish), continuous communications, and such attention to detail that you would have sworn that the house was originally built that way. Most contractors would have sent the “B” team for a job like that – Mike does not have a “B” team. So when it came time for the full-house renovation, we knew whom to call.We started with an informal “sit-down” – what were we trying to accomplish…and, more importantly… WHY? How did we like to live…what did we do every day, what did we like in our current home and what would we love to have going forward? Essentially, they wanted to design a home around how we lived, rather than simply renovating what we had today. After a nominal up-front payment to complete the plans, Mike and his team spent weeks designing and estimating an ideal plan for us – they had so many creative, transformational ideas….and when we had thoughts as well, they incorporated those that made sense – and (rightly so) challenged us on some of our ideas that were a bit…”misguided”. Anyway, when all was said and done we had a design that flowed naturally for every “use case” we could imagine: Thanksgiving dinner with our 5 kids and (someday we hope!) dozens of grandkids; alumni club BBQ’s with 60-80 people; large team dinners and neighborhood block parties; and perhaps most importantly, everyday life of breakfast, getting kids off to school, lunch and snacks at the counter, Sunday night dinners with the family. In hindsight, after being back in the home for 6 months, we can honestly say that there is NOT ONE THING we would do differently….incredible. On to the construction phase. First, Mike and the team sat down with us and gave us a week-by-week plan on what would happen and when. And given the size of the job, it was amazing that everything went so well, and on time! Of course, in any significant renovation, stuff will go wrong. And the sign of a great builder is what they do when that happens – and Mike does whatever it takes to make sure that everything is 100% perfect! How does he do this so well? A lot of it comes down to his contractors – either they work for him directly, or he has worked with them for so many years, it’s like they are “part of the family” – and you always do right by your family! And so the result – the level of detail and perfectionism in the finished product is literally flawless. My father (now retired) stayed with us for a week and all he said was “Wow – I’m impressed”. And that’s saying something! Finally, I want to say a few words about the team. Mike has literally hand-selected every person on the team and each one was so good at what they did. Especially Sara, the designer – she really felt personally responsible for understanding us, our family, our lives – and how to design the house (especially the kitchen) to fit the way we lived. By the time we were done, all of them – Mike, Sara, Scott, Rick, and Doug – truly felt like part of our family. We almost did not want the job to be over (wait what?!?). And when we offered to throw them a housewarming party, to show our appreciation for all of their hard work over the 9 months, they said – “Great idea – bring all your friends and neighbors, and we will host it.” I mean, who does that?!? Without hesitation, would definitely recommend DiFabion Remodeling to anyone and everyone – small jobs or big jobs …. you’ll be writing a similar review when he’s done!!!

We were pleased with virtually every aspect of DiFabion Remodeling's service and workmanship. In one instance I was displeased with the fit of a shower tile around a window casing but didn't think anything could be done to improve it. DR spotted the issue on their own and had their sub fix it.

From the initial consult through completion of the project everyone at Di Fabian was professional, highly skilled and delightfully pleasant. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience and results. I've recommended them to friends and neighbors and will be hiring them again for my next project.
