Construction is well underway now. Walls are being framed. We remain impressed with H & H's attention to detail overall. In particular Dan Bailey (foreman/supervisor) has been outstanding at ensuring work is done to plan and to expected quality, juggling many competing priorities to ensure the sub contractors have what they need, when they need it to keep on track, and he's gone above and beyond to help us solve for some specific asks related to ensuring impact to existing landscaping is minimized.

They did a fantastic job. Any minor delays were addressed quickly. There were no major delays. There was a 45-day punch list after the original was completed to address anything that arose after I moved back in. There is a 2-year warranty. I find all of this exceptional.

We appreciated the extensive knowledge and expertise of the design and construction staff. It made us feel confident in choosing this team to complete our home renovation. We are happy with our final product!

Overall we were pleased with the final product we received from H&H, and also with their communication and commitment to helping bring to life what we were hoping to achieve with the space. They fell quite behind and we didn't really ever get true designer support, which is the only reason this is not a 5 out of 5.

H&H Builders have done multiple medium/large remodeling projects on our 80-year old home. We could have paid less, but I think the quality and professionalism was worth it each time!

After a few small and a few large construction projects, I have learned that most important thing about a contractor is how they handle problems that arise. I've never seen a project that didn't have some unexpected challenge. Most good companies get the work done eventually in some form, but how they respond to problems, fix sub-par work, and overall handle challenges during a project makes or breaks the end result and experience. Our project started in 2021 right as a severe supply and labor shortage struck. As a result of this, H&H suffered the same problems as the whole industry, and was left scrambling as subcontractors they had worked with for years couldn't fill the jobs. Our project had a number of serious quality problems as a result, but Jason and John came out and inspected the work when I raised concerns, got the right people in to fix it in a timely fashion, and fixed things properly. When things we had ordered months before suddenly couldn't be had, they found a way to get them or found us excellent substitutes. When we found unexpected materials and design problems (our house was built in 1925), they drew up cost-effective solutions and made it work. In short, the last year was a very challenging year to undertake a large project on a very old home, and at the end of the day, H&H got the work done, fixed any problems that arose, and we are very happy with the product. If I have work I need done in the future, I'll turn to H&H again because I can trust that at the end of the day I'm going to end up with high-quality work, and that they will finish the project in a timely fashion.

We were very disappointed with the entire experience and lack of customer service from David and John. We also never received a thank you or follow up after spending $210,000. Not even an email, text, or call for a thank you for investing in this partnership. We also never received any sort of follow up from the survey responses we provided mid-project. If you're going to send a survey and see any areas for improvement or dissatisfaction from the client, it is good business to follow up, address it, and figure out how you are going to resolve it. David's lack of professionalism made him seem apathetic towards our project, your company, and our wallet. We are just surprised after all the years H&H has been in business, we experienced lack of professionalism, lack of organization, systems and processes.

Value - Pride and quality of work were outstanding. The design was very well thought through and the difficulty of remodeling a 1937 Tudor presented challenges that most contractors would have struggled with and H&H seemed well equipped to manage.

Of course, the end result of all of their hard work to make our dream home is the most satisfying part. He was always thorough, considerate and demonstrated an A+ work ethic as well as being a talented craftsman. Michael always provided great insight, design ideas and out of the box thinking. Tyler clearly took pride in bringing to life all the historic features and charm of our remodeled home. He is an extraordinary carpenter. Brian came in towards the end and was professional and courteous, he clearly inspired to make sure things were completed to our satisfaction.

H & H construction schedule/timetable was spot on and they never fell behind on the schedule.3. I was living in my home during the construction and even when my roof was off, H & H made sure we were never cold or wet even though construction took place largely during the winter months.4. H & H responded promptly to any concerns that I had an made a few late evening visits back to the site to deal with a few unexpected issues that arose.5. Many of the subcontractors who worked with H & H on my project commented that John Happel is great to work with as they know they will be paid on time for their portion of the job.
