Problem Resolution - We had ordered a sink for our bar area, through another vendor, and it was listed with incorrect measurements. This was not a mistake by HIVEX, but they were able to address the situation anyway and push back the knee wall so that everything could fit properly. HIVEX didn't complain about having to make corrections and redo that portion of the wall. In the end, it turned out great!

Professional & Organized - HIVEX was very professional and organized. They showed up to job on the given days they were scheduled to work. They were very unintrusive throughout the construction. HIVEX seemed to be ahead of schedule and there were no delays in construction on their part. The entire project took less than 2 months to complete.

Sales Knowledge - We had been working with Jess for a few years and, once we felt it was the right time to start our project, Jess was there to help us get the paperwork and layout finalized. Jess was always quick to respond to emails and provided accurate figures for the project. During our walk through, she brought up ideas/suggestions about the layout of our project that we hadn't thought about. We ended up going with her suggestions and have loved the results!

We chose HIVEX because they were a family business who took the time to explain everything, make suggestions about the project, they provided their insurance information (which no other contractor did), and their overall reputation that I uncovered through research and "word of mouth" was elite. Their pricing is competitive and there was no hidden or unexpected costs. Everyone that we came in contact with from HIVEX (Jess, Andrea, John, a few of the workers, etc) were polite, knowledgeable, and willing to address our needs.

When I was taking bids for finishing my basement I mentioned to another contractor I was waiting on another estimate to come by as well, he asked if it was HIVEX and I was like yeah actually it is, he never called me back. Now I know why. The finished project looked amazing. We are extremely happy with the work they did. Great attention to detail, Professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a remodel/finished basement. They went the extra step that others would not have done. They put up a temporary fence to keep my dogs safe from getting out of the yard. They moved everything out of the basement for me, even taking half of it to the dump. Who else would do that? Bob the site contractor was always responsive, helpful and a good person. They are a family owned local company who does great work.

This company is good at a few things, but lack in others. I think they are very good with getting the skeleton of a basement complete, framing, drywall, trim, etc. This company is poor at finishing and attention to detail.

The HIVEX team, from the first meeting with Michael to discuss design options through the entire project working with our project manager Bob, was professional, accommodating, attentive to details, responsive - 1st class all the way. The effort put forth is what you'd hope to get out of any significant project - top notch processes and communication and feedback. I’ve hired a dozen or so contractors in my life and most were good, a couple great. Hyvex has been nothing short of amazing and a level above all others! They’re well organized, clean, met or exceeded ever expectation, and communicated with professionalism and timeliness such that I never had to ask the status of anything. Hivex gave us a timeline of 8-12 weeks and they completed our project in 4 weeks! We were blown away. Our basement is beautiful. The work that was done was very good which is the most important thing. The one negative we had was the lack of commmnication. There seemed to be quite a disconnect throughout the process. If we didn’t ask what was going on or what was needed, we weren’t informed a lot of the time. We felt this could have been finished much quicker if that wasn’t the case. Other then that the work that was done was of high quality and we are happy with it.
