Legacy was a great design/build firm for our total kitchen remodel. We first decided to use them because of the work they put into the initial bid. Unlike many others who would not even produce a sketch without a design fee, Legacy created 3-D renderings from their measurements and we were able to see their creativity and skill. Every step of the way, we were partners in the design. Legacy also had great contractors for cabinets, tile, and flooring who further contributed to the design. Jeff Ross was a great project manager who managed to finish the job 2 weeks early and who responded immediately to every concern and every new design idea. This was a big project with new HVAC, wall removal, floor replacement, all new appliances, cabinets and drywall, and we could not have been happier.

Expertise - Everyone at Legacy is an expert in their field, and they worked well as a team. We always felt like we were in capable hands, because we were. On a couple occasions when they weren't exactly sure how to approach a particular issue, they consulted with an expert tradesman (at their expense). That's a sign of true experts.

Professional & Organized

Professional & Organized - This was a major factor in our choosing Legacy. At ALL times were they professional and organized, and they expected the same from their subcontractors. Their high level of professionalism and organization was clear to us from the first time we met Bill, one of the co-owners, and we continued to see that with everyone we met. At the beginning of the project, Bill laid out their detailed design-build process for each stage of the project and they followed it.

Schedule

Schedule - The schedule for the entire project was laid out at the outset, months in advance of it starting. They were flexible with our schedule as well, and with the unplanned changes we introduced along the way. The project was completed when expected. The schedule was available to us 24/7 on their website and via their app. Only a handful of times over the five months did they have to deviate from the weekly schedule (literally!), and the Project Manager (Matt) kept us in the loop when that happened.

Budget - The project was 100% on budget--no cost overruns.

Construction Quality

Construction Quality - This is another area where Legacy excels, and is one of the major factors for us choosing them over other firms. Their attention to detail on everything was amazing, and it showed in the final product. When they saw something that wasn't perfect, they fixed it, usually without us even knowing about it. And they expected the same quality from their subcontractors.

Communication

Communication - Communication was outstanding. Their app provided us with the entire schedule from design through completion. Only a handful of times over the five months did they have to deviate from the weekly schedule (literally!), and the Project Manager (Matt) kept us in the loop when that happened. Matt made it a point to let us know the details of what would be happening the following week. We always felt like we were in the loop. On only a couple occasions we had to ask about the status of a particular item. When we were not there in-person, we communicated with him via phone call or text.

Problem Resolution

Problem Resolution - We experienced only minor problems, which we fully expected for such a major remodel (in fact we expected more). Each issue was quickly addressed, and in most cases, the PM brought the issue to our attention first, along with the action he planned to take. Again, he always kept us in the loop.

Clean & Safe

Clean & Safe - The worksite was left impeccable EVERY day. The workers took the few minutes at the end of each day to tidy the jobsite. Even their subcontractors did this; it was obvious they were fully aware of the standard Legacy demands from them.

Employees & Subcontractors - It was clear that Legacy chooses their subcontractors carefully, because they were clearly aware of Legacy's high standards. 10+ subs were used on our project and every single person who came through our door was friendly, extremely courteous, and professional. There was literally not one person we would recommend they not use in the future.

Value - This was an expensive project for us and the value was absolutely fair. We wanted a firm that we could trust to bring experience, skills/knowledge, quality craftsmanship, flexibility and professionalism--and they delivered. We definitely received what we paid for.

Trust - This is table stakes for us and without hesitation we trust Legacy. Their high degree of integrity became more and more apparent to us as we dealt with them. They followed through on everything they said they would.

The company was very easy to work with. It was a one stop shop. All we needed to do was pick out our product selections and they took care of everything else. The project manager, Brent was very professional and coordinated the contractors very efficiently. He was readily available to us whenever we needed him.

Legacy did an absolutely wonderful job on our bathroom remodel. Although construction can certainly be disruptive to a household, they did everything they could to ensure that the adjoining space was protected and that the work area was cleaned up on a daily basis. The finished product is exceptional and the craftsmanship superb. Their process is very structured and every phase was seamless, beginning with the expert design service at the inception of the project. We have used Legacy in the past and would not hesitate to use them again, and we have already recommended their firm to neighbors who are considering construction work. And we loved working with a Montgomery based outfit!
