Wow, where to begin? I guess maybe start at paying a half million of hard-earned, blood, sweat, and tears dollars for a "premium" home that less than one year in, already has two pages of punch list items to repair that most of which were never done right to begin with. Lets talk about installing a ceiling fan. I mean this is pretty much the pinnacle of home ownership and usually one of the very first things that a homeowner does when they get settled. It took SR homes and their great electrician sub THREE, yes THREE, times over a 6 month period to install the fan halfway correct. After that period, and SR and Progressive Lighting pointing fingers at each other, Progressive finally sent their install guy who did the job right the first time. Love Progressive. Oh did I mention that the electrician didn't even connect the wires to the outlet in the laundry room? Now lets talk about cabinets. I mean I have lived with some builder's grade cabinets, but good grief. Don't expect any frills here. Rails not attached to drawers, mounting holes obviously abandoned because the screw stripped out, and now a cabinet over the counter in the kitchen that is only attached to one stud. SR Home's cabinet guy's fix? How about some construction adhesive to hold that other corner to the drywall. Oh it wont come down he says. Are you KIDDING ME??? So now we can't use the cabinet for liability issues until the cabinet sub and SR Homes get done pointing fingers at each other. See a pattern? If that isn't enough, now the drywall will have to come down in that area so a brace can be installed for the cabinet which should have been done in the very beginning. Among other things, a gas leak in the attic near the furnace (which I had fixed immediately but now have "voided" the warranty because I didn't contact SR Homes first to wait on them to produce a sub par sub to fix it and can't get reimbursed for), irritatingly creaky and popping stairs and hardwood floor, and bathroom subway tile that isn't even close to being in line where the shower meets the tub. What a joke. If you are going to market yourself as some great home builder, make sure that you start from the ground up. My advice to someone looking to buy from SR Homes, hire your own project manager to be on site everyday to make sure that things are done correctly and followed up on. If you can't hire your own PM, have plenty of time to take off from your job because you're going to need it for on site repairs.
We bought this house when it was just an empty lot. We watched the build process over the next 8 months. SR Homes has been great to work with every step along the way. Our house came out as beautifully as we hoped. I would HIGHLY recommend them.,,
Likes & Dislikes - We love this new home. The design is wonderful, the lot is exactly what we had hoped it would be, and the quality is excellent. Can't think of anything that we dislike.
We had a good experience with building our home and were pleased with the product. We would highly recommend the builder to other potential homeowners.
Some of the craftsmanship of the home can be improved.
This is the 6th home that we've built and probably the most disappointing experience of them all. While one would think that after building so many homes that things would go much more smoothly because we were already familiar with the processes, expectations of the homeowner, timeline, etc., it seemed as though none of our previous experience was leveraged or welcomed. I found the team to be knowledgeable and have tremendous potential to excel in this industry with improvements to some fundamental areas.
There's not a lot of homes. There is only 24 but that would allow you to know of each other and know the property better. The fewer people, the more understanding will come. Security-wise it is nice. It's a small diverse community. It's a manageable community. We will be like a family.
Everyone that we dealt with before we bought the house was very helpful.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Everything. The best sound built home I've ever owned. I'm very proud to have selected a SR Home.
Additional Comments - We have enjoyed living in our new home and neighborhood!

Areas Of Satisfaction - They met our expectations and their customer service exceeds. They are great to work with and very accommodating.
door widths are too narrow
They are not very helpful. The ones that booked what I had were missing information. I have had to use their warranty department every weekend since my house closed a month ago. All for different things. These were multiple issues that shouldn't be taking place on a brand new home.
It was the best home buying experience we have ever had!
I am a first time home buyer doing a lot of remodeling, and they explained everything to me really efficiently. They came in, worked fast, and did it all correctly the first time. After they finished, I received an unexpected gift card for dinner for two, which was really sweet. I would strongly rec... more
