Limited ability to customize. Poor selection of fixtures and no flexibility to change out to what a customer wants. and I am pretty sure they lied about some of the electrical stuff.

I love Stateson. They built my villa in Christiansburg and I was very happy with it but decided I wanted a house again so Stateson was the logical choice.

The lack of communication between the different departments within the company is severally lacking. We had multiple issues with our build. What we had picked for our home in our design meeting, a good portion of the items were not ordered or the wrong products were installed. There is also a sever lack of quality control within the company in regards to making sure the different phases of the build is done correctly. We had multiple studs that were warped and had two that had been charged in a fire installed. The wall that was framed to separate the living room and master bedroom was off. The overall quality of the finishing work was sup pair as well. We have only been in our house for a year and we have had major plumbing issues, siding has fallen off the house, cracked foundation wall, garage not sealed, damaged dry wall installed in garage, missing seal on the outside for the garage door, all of the bathtubs and countertops in the bathrooms have deep scratches in them.

Connor made the project really enjoyable.

Overall, the quality of the home is great. I would have liked to have more options in the design process, more customization availability for a home that I would not have created a plan to redesign in the future.

Additional Comments - We never thought we would want to go through the headaches of building a new home, but with Stateson it was a very smooth and an easy process. We were so pleased with every aspect from picking out the floor plan, design center, quality and the reasonable time in which it took to build the house. We would highly recommend Stateston to anyone wanting to purchase a new home.

We felt as if we were guinea pigs for The Hanover floor plan. We were one of the first people to build this floor plan after its release, and it became obvious at the very beginning that the kinks had not been ironed out and their marketing had not been updated to reflect what they were actually capable of building in a Hanover. We were told from the very beginning that we would have 9 ft ceilings on our first level, only to find out halfway through the building process completely on our own that our ceilings were only 8 ft. We were also told that we would have a seat in our master bathroom shower, only to find out at our pre-drywall meeting that it was "not possible" for our floor plan, even though it is standard in all of the other Stateson models.

We have encountered numerous areas of poor workmanship throughout our home immediately after closing. We would rather have a longer build timeline and receive a home with quality workmanship instead of our home being built in less than 6 months and starting our list of fixes/repairs immediately upon moving in.

We moved in May 9th, 2024. Early on there were some things we didn't like, but there were things in late April early May we liked even less. Issues like landscaping/yard, not being able to do anything about blinds or shades for the windows, leaving us without privacy for a while, and finding out there were no light fixtures in the bedrooms. Things got worse from May 9th on. I had a list problems that were to be addressed for the 45 day walk-through which started much later than the 45 days. Issues that shouldn't have been difficult to care of and while some things were fixed after I persisted, some things have not been completed and we are now getting close to twice that 45 day period. By far the worst of all is the number of times I have been ignored or have not been told the truth (a nice way of putting it). They seem to want to do the bare minimum. And it is astounding to me when contact is made, how many times I have been promised certain things at specific times and no one shows up, no calls or any kind of contact. It sure looks like Stateson Homes is not interested in anything but building houses as fast as they can, making as much money as they can, and not taking care of the ones who are paying for their over priced houses.

The local representatives, Brenda Helmandollar and John Snow, were great to work with. I wish I could say the same for the rest of this company.

I could see myself recommending Stateson to a friend if the situation was presented to me.

The whole process was extremely smooth. Finished quicker than expected. The building process was very efficient with constant updates. Tristan was quick to answer questions and a pleasure to work with. The finish quality of the home is fantastic! Beautiful home, fantastic quality, even better people.

I am Happy with the maintenance support, Jason have been very prompt to address issue . However after moving into new villa in 6 month itself we had a solid crack on wall between master BR and hall. Not sure if it’s design issue . I strongly believe it’s not a regular crack due to climate change but it’s a big one. This is worrying for us and we think it could come back in future .
