The experience was great except a few minor things. First, the site wasn't left as clean as it could have been once the restoration process began, I had to do some cleaning every day. I even offered up my shop vacuum which was bigger than theirs and they didn't want to use it. It was ok, I expected some cleanup after it was done each day anyhow but I was vacuuming up large amounts of sawdust and pieces of wood from various places around the floor. Second, the contractor himself wasn't very communicative, he was ok at trying to schedule things but he didn't try to communicate otherwise. I had to ask him at the end twice about the paperwork that I needed to sign for the insurance. Last but not least, after I signed the paperwork and was told I would receive a refund of a bit over $200, about 3 weeks or a month later I receive an invoice for $1400+ because they don't know how to do their paperwork. I haven't paid it yet because I'm going to get the insurance involved since there were 3 checks cut to them for the restoration.

The overall performance of this company is very poor. I don't know how to express it other than going through each category. Initially, it was pretty good. I had never dealt with a disaster company before. I didn't know what to expect. I had a fire in my garage and there was tremendous smoke damage throughout the house. They boxed everything up to clean it and put our stuff in storage for months while they did floors and other things. Our clothes were not cleaned properly. They came back stained and smelled. Furniture was damaged coming in and out. They said they had our doors ordered, and they didn't. I'm going to file a formal complaint with the company because it has been blunder after blunder. The fire was in January last year, and I'm still waiting on the completion of this project. They did okay on the garage, but not when they got to the house. They break it down into two departments: clothing, sofas, etc, and then the hard surface things. There were floors that had carpet previously, and we asked to get a quote on hardwood. They never got back to us. I told them to go ahead and do the hardwood for all the areas, but when it finally showed up they didn't order all the hardwood. It was not communicated that I asked for all the areas to be hardwood. Now, we have to wait another two weeks. All said and done, they sent someone new who said I owe them $11,000.00 for the floor, but Luke was supposed to let me know the cost of the floor beforehand. We were out of the house for sixty days, and I feel they could have done a better job following through. I understand it's hard to get contractors. However, when the painter says four times they'll be there and they don't show up, I would get another painter.
They took too long to do the job and the cleanup afterward was inadequate.

Alpine Cleaning & Restoration's quote process was very quick. As soon as I approved the bid, it was scheduled and they had it done in a timely manner.

At a high level, I enjoyed the experience with Alpine. They did a great job. When it came to the reconstruction of the bathroom, the contractor they used was cutting corners and moving too fast. The quality of the repairs wasn't too great. It had to be redone. The second time, it still wasn't great, but I gave up at that point.

Alpine quickly responded to the flooding incident, but for a small job, it took a long time to be restored and communication was lacking. Waited for calls and felt we slipped through the cracks. When they were here though, they were professional and we are please with the quality of restoration.
We started with them in June and the work is still not finished. They have not contacted us in months. They were supposed to come last week, but they did not show. It has been six months, we got a hold of them last week, but they did not show.
Great to work with
The roof inside the trusses was falling and Alpine Cleaning & Restoration came in to fix them. It took a few months, but they did an excellent job. They took care of everything. I didn't have to do anything. The owner called throughout the process to be sure things were done to our liking, in the proper way, and as scheduled.
I was never really very clear how the whole process of needing damage control, insurance, general contractors with your company, etc all worked together. It was very frustrating and unclear. Never could figure out what steps I needed to make and if anyone was advocating on my behalf.

Plus, the estimate wasn’t clear with m m y insurance, so it looks like I may need to pay some more money out-if-pocket. Good work on my kitchen ceiling, though, after my upstairs neighbor’s fridge leaked.

I think that their communication was lacking, and the quality of the product they used was lacking. I understand you get a budget from the insurance company, and that's what it goes by, but I feel it's very low-budget material. The money the insurance paid could've been put toward better-quality material.

They came in a timely fashion and did the work. It seemed to be complete. But on the billing, they included things they didn't do. I had to send it to the insurance company. I was displeased with how they documented what they did.
