We tell everyone who asks about our builder how happy we are with AHP. The entire process, from start to finish, was smooth. The communication was top notch and we always felt in the know of what was happening.
Working with America’s Home Place (AHP) was a very pleasurable experience. They were professional and courteous in all aspects of our build. The deciding factor to use them was the ability to move interior walls at no extra fee.
We built in Alabama while still living in Texas. The fact that this was a long distance build required effective communication. “AHP” was exceptional in this area with weekly updates along with pictures.
They worked with me in adding gas appliances and furnace even though they don’t do gas, helping coordinate with the local gas company.
They also worked with me in adding a wood burning stove, also something they did not provide as an option. I wanted the stove vs. a fireplace so they worked with the third party I selected to install the stove during the building process vs. waiting until after I moved in.
Our overall experience with AHP was, and continues to be, a positive one.
Project was complete on time and under budget. We haven’t had the 1 year revisit, yet, so I cannot comment on that process, yet.
Greg, Dominic, Steve, and Howard were all personable and remained in contact the whole process and several weeks after. For a new home owner, it was great that they were communicative and willing to help us out often. I understand this might not apply for all of AHP, but the fredericksburg branch seems good to me.
Overall, very happy with the finished home
We would absolutely recommend AHP to family and friends and already have. From start to finish, this has been the best home build experience we have ever had. Cathy is wonderful and made the design process easy and fun and was in constant contact with us. Our project manager, Andrew, is phenomenal. His attention to detail and constant communication and photos throughout the build went above and beyond our expectations. We have been in our new home for 2 months now and love everything about it. Thank you so much AHP for making our dream home a reality!
Not really impressed with the some of the contractors that were used.
I have already recommended a friend to America’s Home Place because of the outstanding service I received.
Awesome to work with in every phase
Very knowledgeable and delivered a great home to us. We are very pleased.
We would absolutely recommend America's Home Place to everyone we talk to. Morgan Titus and his team that worked with us we wonderful.
Poor customer interaction. They are not friendly and not easy to deal with thru issues or concerns.
This was a great experience. Our house was build quickly, with quality, and we were always kept up to date.
We really enjoy our house and realize that there are issues with all builds. I really think that having 4 project managers really did not help the experience and caused more confusion and trust issues for us. Two were good to work with and 2 were not easy to work with. It felt as if they all were being stretched thin which made it difficult at times to get answers to questions and get results. We picked a plan that had not been built in years and we sensed some hesitation from the first PM as soon as the project started.
We had a great experience with everything from the sales portion with Ryan, our selections coordinator, Caitlyn, and especially Brian Tapp, our building project manager. The house was completed from digging the footers to final settlement in 182 days. Brian was walked us through the process step by step and set expectations that were clear and accurate.
Would never put someone through the head aches I went through
America's Home Place has been great from start to finish. They helped us with everything. They helped us pick out the materials, and made us feel welcomed throughout the entire process.
America's Home Place Chattanooga was amazing to work with throughout our building process. From the moment we walked into the show room for our initial consultation to our final signing, the entire staff was so wonderful to work with!! When we initially met with America's Home Place, they said their typical building process is 8-10 months. We were amazed that our building process actually took just 7 months! We had 1 month of working through revisions to our floor plans and doing our color selection, and 1 month for getting all of the permits and work lined up.
We have already recommended AHP to multiple people!
It was a joy to work with them. They were professional, prompt any time we had trouble and left a message Lenny would get right back to us.
AHP staff promptly responded and worked diligently to keep us informed and complete our home on schedule. Staff were very helpful in assisting with meeting HOA requirements.
We closed on our home May 9th. To date, we still have several issues that continue to be unresolved.
We were not able to use our master shower due to multiple cracks. It was finally replaced and completed the first of October. We had one bath/shower to use up until that time. And even after it was replaced, my husband had to replace the flooring in front of the shower so we could start using the shower. We had no date that someone would be out to do it. When the shower was replaced, we found that there was no insulation behind the shower. We have had so many issues, that we are now questioning the quality.
Our laminate floor has been taken up and replaced three times. The laminate flooring runs throughout the main living space in our house except in the bedrooms. So for months we were not able to unpack or finish moving in. We still had to keep furniture in a storage facility paying for several extra months for that unit throughout that process.
We still have cracks greater than 2.5-3" in the concrete wall in our garage and outside the house. We still cannot get those repaired. And the crew that came out to repair them, crammed nails in the cracks, there were no staff to supervise, my husband was trying to reach America's Home Place, the workers left trash, dust, and debris, AND went through our belongings in the garage and helped themselves to rest in my zero gravity lawn chair that was folded and put away.
Our air conditioning drain was installed incorrectly and runs through the walls and not through the foundation/ floors tp drain outside. So it sound like a toilet flushing with the condensation. We were openly told, that this was an oversight, the drain was missed by the site manager and the plumber. And now we are being told there is nothing to be done to make it more quiet. It is unacceptable.
There are issues with the kitchen sink, there was supposed to be a replacement head ordered for the faucet that we’ve never heard anything about.
The back sliding doors had to be replaced and we are still unable to use them because they haven't been back out to install the screens. They have the screens, but they have ordered the wrong weather stripping. AGAIN, we closed MAY 9th, this is OCTOBER 10th.
The garage door has already broken and been repaired but there is still an issue, we have been told it would be looked at, but it has not been.
We’ve had the driveway and drainage system redone already and were told that it was recommended that our house be changed to have the driveway on the opposite side to better manage drainage due to the elevation of our lot. That was told to us by the contractor. We were never given the option to make that adjustment. That would have made a huge difference in managing the draining/runoff on he property. As it is, we are loosing soil. If we had been communicated with, we would ABSOLUTELY rather have the garage on the other side so that the drainage would not be the issue we are having now.
We were also made aware that our original site manager, Tyler, made significant errors in the concrete work when our foundation was done. I honestly feel like there are things with our house that we were not told, things that were not disclosed, but that were covered up.
These are GLARING issues, and just a few that are still left to be resolved. My husband works from home and is CONSTANTLY left to be the one to supervise crews that come out to do work because there is no site manager here to do that job.
We were also PRESSURED to sign off on the walk through list, even though things weren't completely finished.
Throughout this process everything was constant follow up on our part. We got no information, no pictures, no information unless we constantly called, left messages, and kept calling.
We are not happy with the process, we are not happy with the outcome, and we are not happy with the follow through.
What I have listed here is just a small sample of the issues we have had.
There are new residents purchasing lots in our neighborhood. We will not be recommending AHP.
America’s Home Place was easy to work with and we ended up with the house of our dreams. Our project manager (Trey Thompson) was wonderful and made the experience a positive one. Would highly recommend.
They built us a beautiful house.
We have already recommended AHP to several potential buyers
