This company and the employees that work at this location are not qualified to build homes or represent America's Home Place. Using this company was the worst decision I have ever made.

The staff at Brunswick Ga were amazing.
From the first phone call from Amanda to the final walk through with Heath. And everything and everyone in between from Chuck who was always there to help with anything at all to Tomi helping with payments and finances to Kevin who oversaw all and was always there when needed. You could not ask for a better crew! I miss talking with them they were always so pleasant and professional! Our house turned out gorgeous even better than we hoped for!

AHP is Incredibly easy to work with, very straightforward process and we felt very confident about the detailed project plan and commitment from AHP. There were no surprises with AHP.

When it came to designing the house and working out details, the initial steps were professional, smooth, and courteous. When it came to building, they kept us as informed as possible with photos. When it came to moving in, there was a lot of debris in the yard for us to clean up.

You placed the plumbing for our bathroom in the garage which then needed to be cut out leaving a 4' x 8' section of floor that was obviously cut and no longer uniform. After lengthy discussion, I was informed by our foreman that the office manager, Matt Dibb, stated it was a take it or leave it fix. Approximately 5-6 months later when the office manager wanted to close before years end, then he was willing to make amends and offer something additional for our inconvenience. So, he became a professional when he wanted something.
Also, after accommodating the manager with closing, we found out from the local inspector that the manager signed on our behalf for a variance, which we didn't authorize nor were we informed of this. We believe this was done to avoid bringing the mistakes made on the front porch up to code for cost and timing purposes. In the event we went to sell our home at a later time, we would have to incur the cost of bringing things up to code, which is what your company was supposed to do in the first place.
We found Mr. Dibb to be unprofessional and more importantly, not trustworthy. Our foreman Jason was someone that I would work with again. He was professional and helpful during the entire project. Jordan, who also needed to get involved was an absolute professional. My apologies for not remembering his last name. He was a complete professional that always called when he said and followed up whenever he said he would. I recommended to Jordan to have Mr. Dibb follow him around for a couple of weeks so he can learn how to be a professional. Not sure if that would help him with being trustworthy.

We love our new custom built home. We are thankful to have had the support and expertise of AHP though out this process. Our home was finished timely and is beautiful. The team at Oxford AHP was always there for us and helped make our big dream a reality.

The professionalism was bar none. I have never dealt with a company that was as professional and as knowledgeable as they were. If they couldn't do something, they would tell you. They didn't lie or sugar coat it. They never said no to me, but they said no to something a friend of mine wanted to do. Furthermore, they know their limitations, which I don't know what they were. They did everything I needed to be done. Everything came out perfectly, and I am super happy with these guys. I hope they get all the business they can.

The following is our opinion and some reasons, based upon our recent experience with AHP, as to why we would recommend AHP to a friend or relative: Unfortunately, home construction contractors (very generally speaking) often don't have a great reputation in quality, time frame, completeness, and cost of their work product. Especially the largest outfits and the smallest (mostly individuals) outfits. AHP is in the sweet spot of being large enough to ensure a secure & cost-controlled supply chain of quality materials & appliances, and employ a permanent pool of design and construction professionals along with credentialed professional sales personnel and a representative complement of complete model homes at their regional sales centers. At the same time, they only focus on custom home building for individuals instead of mass-produced cookie-cutter housing projects. AHP's wide selection of pre-existing designs and their capability to offer customized options to modify their existing designs, is impressive. Their offered portfolio covers a wide range of price, floorplan, and size options. Therefore, their teams work closely with each individual purchaser with the objective of meeting or exceeding the desired outcome the customers have decided upon for the contracted price.

Quality Of Materials

Quality Of Materials - 1) The base for the exterior heat exchange unit of the HVAC should have had a level concrete pad installed under it for the composite base underneath the actual heat exchange unit to sit upon. 2) The three-section folding ladder installed for access in the garage ceiling to the attic is made of wood and extremely heavy & dangerously awkward to deploy and to return to its folded & closed position. Aluminum or similar lightweight material would have been MUCH preferable and safer. With those two current exceptions, we have been otherwise quite satisfied with the quality of materials used in the construction of our AHP house.

Condition of Home

Condition of Home - Other than some not unexpected initial punch list items that were subsequently corrected, we were very satisfied with the condition of our home upon move-in.

Getting started was fast and simple. We altered our floor plan by about 15% in one single visit. The architects responded back with some simple but well thought out changes, and in the end, we loved the floor plan. All of the available options were on display in the showroom which made selection day incredibly easy. It was very stress-free to have quality choices, but limited choices. No pouring over websites or driving out of town to the lighting showcase or the plumbing store, and having to make tough decisions. The build was trucking along until hurricane Helene hit. The wind destroyed the not quite complete carport. But they came back and rebuilt it bigger and better built than originally designed - to withstand the next hurricane this time. Of course at no cost to us. One of the dormers was not built to the advertised size. When the project manager, and I discovered this after the house was nearly complete, without any question or hesitation, they rebuilt it.
We recommended them to a friend who subsequently used AHP, and they were just as pleased with their new house.
I highly recommend America Home Place for your next house.

Our house was built in Florida, and we lived in Alabama at the time of the build. We weren't on site very often to see what was going on. America’s Home Place was very thorough in giving us weekly updates. It all went very smoothly. We did have a contractor change during the build. We were a little worried about the transition, but the new contractor just picked right up and moved forward.

Sales Knowledge - I have nothing negative to say about Beth; however, I am a visual person. I have to see things. I can't just see things in my mind. I wish that prior to the build, we could have had the ability to see what the house was going to look like. Once we made the decision that we were going with America’s Home Place, it would have been nice if Beth had the tools to be able to show us what the house would look like inside and out, especially since we were in Alabama. It would have been easy to just do it over the computer.
