John Barton was communicative from the beginning to the end of the project. His quote process was thorough. The workmen were meticulous which I very much appreciate.
Older gentlemen with lots of experience. They take their time to do the job right. Stand behind their work
They were great to work with.
Barton Construction is by far the best craftsman company I have come across since moving to Huntsville! Here is my story before being rescued by Barton Construction: It started out that I initially picked Premier Design Builders Inc., Dallas Hall, to refinish the deck with composite materials. Unfortunately, Dallas Hall abandoned the project after taking a 50% downpayment. He left me with an unfinished deck. The upper deck was incomplete, unusable, and dangerous. He had his crew install NON-pressure treated wood pieces as blocking on the stairs and riddled the outside deck and stringers with their nail gun. The deck was carelessly left with old deck boards that had nails sticking out. After an inventory of installed and non-installed TimberTech Advanced PVC decking with Cool Touch Technology materials, four 20 foot TimberTech boards were missing. After communications with the State of AL Office of the Attorney General I opened a claim with the Alabama court of Madison County, however, the sheriff was unable to serve the summons because Dallas Hall moved and closed this company. Dallas Hall also interchangeably uses the company name of Raes Home Builders LLC but it has no business license number.Barton Construction came highly recommended by Wilson Lumber. Mr. Barton promptly inspected the abandoned deck site. During this initial inspection, he organized the uninstalled materials that were left in a pile by the previous company. Mr. Barton has a professional and caring personality. While his company had many other projects already lined up, Mr. Barton provided a detailed contract to repair and complete the deck and quickly submitted a permit. He pulled off crew from another project to finish most of the upper decking so it could be walked on safely and they removed the old deck lumber. After the initial securing of the deck site, he had to remove all blocking in the stairs since it was not pressure treated wood and the install did not meet standard. I was very impressed with the craftmanship and the quality of work. Watching the crew work together was the example of teamwork. I received regular morning and end of day updates by his foreman, Mark Miller, and I could finally relax and focus on my own full-time profession. Mr. Barton kept me informed and explained every step to me that I could easily understand. The completed deck looks beautiful, and I enjoy it every day with positive energy. I feel blessed that Mr. Barton and his company helped me during a time of despair since it was my first large project after my husband passed away.
Would not hesitate to use Barton Construction for any future project. They are engaged, professional and caring. All glitches that were encountered (not unexpected on a rehab) were addressed immediately using all available Barton. They are skilled professionals and good people. Highly recommended.
