Bonn's vendor, who was supplying pallets of shingles to my roof by crane, caused $756 in damages to my HVAC system and garage drywall by forcefully dropping the pallet on the garage roof. Bonn did not accept liability for the damage, nor did they offer to remedy the damage, and they initially refused to give me the contact info for their vendor. I had to pay out of pocket for the repairs and withheld this amount from my final payment. Within 2 weeks of completing the job, they charged me a $50 late fee and over $200 in interest charges while I was getting the repairs done. I later found out that they had been reimbursed by the crane company $731 as a credit to their account at Beacon Building Products for the damages, but they did not retract my finance charges, even though they were paid in full by myself, and the vendor, who sent out the crane. This occurred in February, and by May 1 I still did not have my warranty registered with Owens Corning by Bonn Roofing, even though I had paid over $20,000 for upgraded roofing materials, and should be receiving a Preferred Protection Warranty. After not answering my emails and written letters, I sent them a certified letter stating that I was going to file a complaint against them with the Contractor's Construction Board/ CCB. Within 3 days of receiving my letter, Bonn Roofing then registered my warranty with OC, and sent me an invoice saying that I had paid in full, canceling out the late fee and interest charges. I've never been treated so ruthlessly by a community business, and I would discourage anyone from doing business with them. I had used their roof cleaning and moss treatment services for over 15 years, which is why I chose to have them do my reroof. I think they'd do better by sticking to roof cleaning, and they certainly need to address their lack of ethics when dealing with clients. I tried repeatedly to meet with the owner, Todd Covert, to resolve this, but he refused to meet with me in person or talk with me on the phone.
