Great experience
Capital Construction resided my house and did a great job. I highly recommend them.
They are an awesome company. A bit pricey but worth it. Very thorough and professional.
Very accommodating and professional
As the property manager, I was in need of a roof replacement at a high end property in the Back Bay area of Boston. It was a complex roof replacement, as there are 22 hvac condensers and 2 decks with electric components. After receiving several proposals, we choose Capitol Construction for the roof replacement. Their proposal was very professional and through. I conducted several walk throughs with Capitol Cont. many that included other vendors(hvac/electricians) in order to have everyone coordinated. The roof replacement was done to a very high standard. We did several walkthroughs during the 5 weeks of work to ensure everything was being doe correctly.
I’d recommend Capital Construction to anyone. I already have…
We would like to recommend Capital Construction for any construction job. They were pleasant to talk to ,efficient in the work project . .We would recommend them for any contract job.
They didn't communicate with me on a couple of things. I got a lot of emails and phone calls but when I was waiting for someone there was no one there. I got to the location after traveling 2 hours and the supervisor did not show up. The crew was there but none of them spoke English. I found out that the supervisor had a meeting but I was never told. Also, the porta potty has yet to be removed.
I feel like the project was a little more than i wanted to pay, but because the initial team was so polite and professional and i felt that the work would be completed on time and in an superior manner. If someone asked me about Capital Construction I would recommend them
The service with Capital Construction Contracting Inc. was excellent. The salesman was not overly pushy. They did an excellent job on the siding of my house.
They never responded or completed the items I identified on final walk through. Job wah "completed" end of June and we are basically in October. I would never recommend this company.
Poor communication, unskilled hardie installers
Very professional. The project was done quickly with no issues. The crew took a lot of time cleaning up all old material and nails.
After I raised the issues that needed more attention the process came back on track and in the end I was very satisfied with the final project. It was more the process that had problems.
I'm up in the air. Everyone so far has been very helpful and friendly. The roof project was fast and looked great. Our gutters look great, and our siding is getting there. However there have been some lack of communication around certain times, and fixes. Our trim didn't end up the right color on our main door in the end and we gave up because the project was going long and we knew the other color wouldnt look bad. It looks fine, but for what we are paying the promise was for a job done right. There was also our power lines tied off with a rope that has yet to be resolved. Often the crew would leave weird things behind and our dog ended up eating some chicken wings left behind, which is not ideal. Some of this is poor luck but it left us losing confidence.
great job have had several rain events everything looks nice and dry
the 2 workers putting on the siding did an excellent Job, they were very efficient in completing the job. Friendly when we talked with them.
I was so happy to see my house after having the James Hardy siding installed. What a transformation!
Capital Construction did a fast and very great roofing project. From start to finish in one day they did a great job. Would recommend.
Capital Construction is an efficient and well-mannered company that worked with us to get our roof done. We appreciate their support with our financial needs and how timely the job got done. There were a few things we found, after the project was completed, that we noticed needing clean-up or repair, Capital Construction was prompt with righting these issues for us. I did have to call to have the dumpster removed after it sat in my driveway for about a week after the project finished, but it was removed promptly after that.
We had a wonderful experience working with Capital Construction in June 2024. The reason we chose them is because they worked on our house back in 2007. We considered the fact that the company is still around and going strong is a very good sign. For our latest home improvement project, the company has been very professional in every step of the way. Our project included replacement of the entire roof, replacement of all gutters, replacement of fascia boards wherever necessary, and repair or replacement of rafters of the house addition. Sales consultant Jim Sakkos came and gave us an overview in the first meeting. In the second meeting, all the measurements were already available for discussion. We were impressed by their technological innovation in obtaining all the data. It was an intense process to finalize the contract and financing, but all parties were respectful and satisfactory. Scheduling of the project and obtaining permits were also professionally done within a short period of time. Project Manager Jeremy Boutin was a knowledgeable expert on what he was doing, and he is also a responsible individual. Through our conversations and interactions, I could tell that Jeremy was a trustworthy person to work with. Overall, it was a great experience working with Capital Construction. My wife and I were glad that we chose Capital Construction for our home improvement project.
This is the second job that they have done on my house. They did a magnificent job the first time and it was a no brained to have them tackle the second project. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking new siding on their house.
From start to finish, a fine job. From Matt who oversaw the job, to Miguel the supervisor, to each and every worker, all were professional and respectful to a "t". Easy access to administrative staff also was most appreciated. The end result way exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Capital Construction Contracting with no reservation. I have owned multiple properties in New England over the last 45 years, this job was run and executed flawlessly, thank you.
Very bad experience, never again
The subcontractors Capital Construction used on my project were impeccable! They did an outstanding job, and they were incredible professionals. The project manager from Capital Construction could use a lot of work.
Overall the experience with Capital Construction was positive. However disappointed in the lack of response to emails to complete several issues that were pointed out during final punchlist or discovered shortly thereafter.
They never finished the job.
Had a great experience with the salesman (Trevor) as well as the two subcontractors who did the roofing and gutters. We were contacted by multiple individuals explaining the job and double checking the order. The reason for not giving 5 stars had to do with the project management team. We had supplies and dumpster dropped off without notice and I had to call them to find out when the project was starting. Turned out that they were starting the next day which was a Saturday and we had not planned to be home but changed plans. The roofers were excellent, quick and tidy. I was told that the project manager was going to be on site yet he never was…they also didn’t tell me that the gutters would be installed on another day. I received and emailed for final payment but informed them the job was not complete. The gutters were installed a few days later but didn’t start until 5:30pm and didn’t finish until 10pm in the pitch black of nigh. Again the gutter installer was great. I had to call multiple times for the dumpster to be picked up. I left multiple messages and was told that they would call me back and never did. I called again and was told that they would pick it up that day and it was two days later.
Summary - great installers but poor project management
Communication with the customer is very poor. I’ve been dealing with a siding issue that was installed last fall and finally had someone show today to inspect. Two previous times no shows and no communication from office. I had to call three times to get someone today. I feel the company is shady and regret having CC do any work on my house.
Although the windows were measured incorrectly twice, the company rectified the situation. Additionally, windows were delivered to the house unexpectedly, contacted sales rep, but he failed to call me back resulting in me lifting & placing windows in garage for safe keeping until installation was scheduled. Customers should be provided with one contact, calls from too many company reps led to confusion on who to call when the incorrect sized windows were brought in for installation.
Capital Construction Contracting was very easy to work with. They were quick to respond, the service was done in a timely manner, and everyone was very professional.
Outrageously expensive
They did a great job.
Quality control was one of my concerns. Better communication is needed.
They were very, very professional, very timely, and the crew was respectful and communicative with us. They were incredibly efficient with the timeline. Furthermore, they well met their estimated timetable in half of what they estimated. It was really amazing how quickly they did everything. A lot of people have been slowing down to take a look at it.
Very knowledgeable, pleasant to work with, and excellent work.
They were professional, on time and did an excellent job.
The process was very strong. The sales rep who came and did the initial meeting was very knowledgeable and polite. The work was done. The team was very kind and knowledgeable. They worked really hard and quickly. They got the job done that day and left it neat. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because it was definitely on the pricey side. Also, there was a gap in communication between when the contract was made and when the work was actually done.
The sales department is the main issue. They promised one thing, and then it seems like they didn't give us what they promised. We have a lot of issues in that area. The person who sold the product is the one who lied to us.
We hired Capital Construction to replace our roof and install two gutters. It has been, to say the least, a puzzling and frustrating experience.
In the quote phase, we had two separate sales folks come to our home. The second salesperson provided a lot of information that sounded very good at the time and we agreed to use Capital for our project. When we signed our contract we were told we would get going very shortly and would be hearing directly from our PM within a few days.
We then received no contact for a couple of weeks and had to call Capital to initiate the project. Our PM, Danny, seemed very good initially, but we were surprised that Danny immediately walked back explicit promises made by our salesperson (e.g. that ANY damage to roof decking was covered under our contract). Nevertheless, we proceeded. We were told that our project would be complete within one day.
The team working on our project seemed very good but was not able to complete the project (or even close) within one day. The team didn't include anyone who spoke English well enough to explain to us what was going on and we received no contact from Capital. They showed up at 6 am on a weekend the next day and wrapped the project up by early afternoon. By and large, it seemed like they had done a reasonably good job with the project, though there were some oddities (some cosmetic issues with the roof wall intersection on the front of our home, some things that were done at overhangs that explicitly contradicted what our PM had told us would happen, etc.).
Then the fun started. A separate (and great - the best people we worked with through this whole project) team came to install the gutters. One gutter went on fine. When trying to install the other gutter, the team found significant damage to fascia that made it impossible for them to install the gutters. Further inspection showed structural damage to rafters, rotted decking, and damage to structural components of an extension off the back of our home. None of this was Capital's fault. However, it then became clear that they had installed a new roof over the rotted decking and bad rafters and not notified anyone.
Next step was a discussion with my PM, who came back, inspected, and promised to get me hooked up with a carpenter to repair the structural damage, and to come back with the roofing team to fix the areas of rotted decking. He also promised to talk with his team about the issue on the front of the home and propose some solutions to me for consideration. I made very clear in this conversation that I was very frustrated to not have had the team stop and allow me to inspect the damage while the roof was not on the home and it was made clear that when the team came back to repair the roof, they, the PM, and myself would all be there. This is when things started to go completely off the rails.
The next day, the team showed up late at night (approx. 8 pm) and began to do a whole bunch of work on the home, including on the front of the house, which I had not approved. They repaired (they claim) the rotted roof decking, but I was not able to look at the roof while they made these repairs and cannot verify that everything was fixed. They also installed new fascia over all of the existing damage without doing any work on the structural issues. The work on the front of the home was not satisfactory.
My PM came back again, with a carpenter, to inspect the work, and agreed to have the carpenter repair the structural damage and correct the issue on the front of the home. We set a date and time for that work to begin and I was promised a quote that day. From that point on, I never heard from or saw my PM ever again. He ignored all of my calls. After several weeks, I began separate conversations with folks at Capital, who promised me probably at least five or six times that I would hear from my PM, to no avail. I would then call the folks at Capital back, who seemed very frustrated with the PM, promised me they would go to his boss, and I would again hear nothing.
Essentially, this is where my project is 2 months later. I am now speaking with a VP of sales, who claims to be addressing the issue, but himself has now ghosted me on a set call time. Capital has my money, has not completed my scope of work, and has been absolutely horrible to work with. Could not recommend against using this company more highly.
The staff at Capital Construction were all professional and polite. There was clear communication from start to finish, and my new roof and door look great!
My first project manager was slow to respond and order materials. However, after emailing the company, we got a new project manager who worked in a more timely manner. We appreciated the prompt response from the top people for our situation.
The initial quotation was handled badly resulting in a large increase in cost after the contract was signed and other bidders were passed on. There are a couple of issues with the work that would make me think twice about a recommendation.
Capital Construction Contracting was very disorganized.
Very good work done, just very expensive
I was pleased with their work, coordination, and communication.
Capital Construction was a great company to work with. Jim was the main salesperson I worked with, and he was very patient, informative, and kind. Scott was the project manager for my siding project, and he went above and beyond time and time again. Scott was always responsive and communicative, and showed he genuinely cared about me and the project -- I felt like he was treating the project as if it were his own home the entire time. His team was great, too! The site was left clean every day, the project was completed much faster than I anticipated, and the work was high quality. Re-siding a house is a big project -- financially, emotionally, and otherwise. Not only was the final result even better than I expected, but the process was easy and even fun! I would recommend Capital Construction to anyone, especially if they get to work with Jim and/or Scott! Thanks so much for everything!
As I rule, I never give reviews online or recommend a contractor since I am not sure if my experience with a project is representative of the company. If asked by someone, I will say who did the work, but again, but I do not make a recommendation.
When we first started working together, I was very satisfied with the experience. As time went on, I became less satisfied because of the delays. One of my windows had not been measured correctly so I had to wait more than a month for the replacement to be installed. It had already taken a long time for the windows to come. I was more satisfied with the first window installer. I became disheartened when I found out that the windows would just be replaced, and my expectation had been that any damaged wood would be corrected. I guess my expectations were too high. After the roof had been finished, a stranger came by admiring it. I gave her the number to contact your office. If I recommend anyone, I will be sure to tell them to communicate their expectations.
We had a wonderful experience thanks to our Project Manager Scott, he was unbelievable!! We had some mishaps through our project which would've made me choose less than 5 stars and perhaps not recommend Capital but since Scott was so amazing he kept the level and quality of service 5 stars. He is an asset to Capital! We had siding, trim and windows completed. Our crews worked hard and did a beautiful job once fully finished.
