The windows are of high quality, with the exception of (1) window has a from factory defect that we are currently trying to get confirmation that a replacement unit is on order, but the outside trim material is thin and was installed incorrectly, which required a redo by the installers. The trim pitched back toward the house, creating birdbaths and overtime, if and when caulking begins to fail, would find it's way behind the trim and onto wood, insulation, etc., and begin to rot those materials. Also, I noticed that they did not put down rubber windowsill flashing, which is pretty standard even in a remodel situation like this.
It looks nice now, but I had to do a lot of construction management to get us there and I am still working through the punch list items. 1.) From factory defect (which is oil in between the panes, I call it a rainbow anomaly, so that the folks I am talking to on the phone understand better what I'm talking about.) 2.) When the installer comes out to put in the replacement window, I am going to have them get one last bottom piece of trim to pitch away from the house, as right now it pitches toward the house and is creating a birdbath, irksome. 3.) Waiting on a crank out cover. Honestly, I wish there was a way to withhold payment until these last (3) items are completed. I am actually going to look into how I can withhold payment, until these are completed.
The installers worked well with me to improve both the function of the exterior trim, so that it shed water away from the house, as well as the esthetics of the trim work on the exterior, but honestly, the typical homeowner would not know that these were needed improvements, and the installers should have already known to do them.
I need confirmation that Champion is aware of last (3) punch list items, has materials on order and will reach out to us once the new window arrives. It's frustrating that we are not being communicated with and are having to leave several voicemails and texts with the office staff to confirm.
Negative 10 stars
The instillation team was great you really need to educate your sales team on what is included with the install.
The windows did all that they were sold to us to do. Ballard the installer and his one helper worked very hard none stop.
We made sandwiches for them to eat and sit down They did excellent work
And cleanup too. Appreciate the entire
Process, thank you.
I have a window that won't open well and one that won't lock
From setting up the appointment with a sales person to installation and clean up, these people are real pros! I highly recommend Champion!!!
I have recommended the windows already.
The answer to this question depends on the follow-up. I would like a walk-through from Champion to review the subcontractor's work. They seemed to do an excellent job. As a homeowner and an investor in new windows, I find myself finding some flaws and struggle with what is acceptable and what is not.
Everyone involved was awesome.
Love my windows
Communication has been great, everyone is very friendly!
This has been the absolute worst customer service experience with Champion from start to finish.
Two errors were made with my project (wrong window delivered). Wrong / inconsistent trim around windows on outside. Ultimately issues weee resolved but it required many phone calls and emails on my part to fix.
I would not recommend getting siding from Champion. It is not their main business. Poor communication. Crew ruined landscaping
I learned that I will NEVER deal with a "big box store" company again. I will hire local companies. If asked, I will not recommend your company to anyone and more than likely discourage them from using you. The disconnect from the sales portion to the install portion was remarkable. You subbed out the install to "hacks" that have no business doing a project of this size. I expected a professional construction company to do the install but in reality I had crews that had no more experience than I did. The difference is if I did the project myself, I would have not cut corners or spent half my time on my phone.
Quick, professional and timely, plus a good quality product.
I would have given five stars but the refuse bag that was used to dispose of the old material is still in my front yard after two weeks! Not acceptable and that is after several messages to come pick up.
I believe that for the money, we received a quality product that should last us for several years
Worst costumer service EVER! Sun contractors damaged my floors and no one is accountable. My floors remain damaged because both insurance refuse to take accountability for their contractors fault. Stay away from this company. Look at the Google review and BBB.
Champion's prices are on the high end.
The storm door we thought was being made by Champion turned out to be a Larson made door. Their brochure states Champion Storm Doors" protection from the elements with a Champion storm door". The Champion price for a Larson storm door is very over priced.
Window installation was great
It is an affordable option both the buy two get two offer when one can't afford new windows and siding at the same time.
From the initial signing of the contract to completion of the sunroom project took 23 months! We encountered numerous personnel changes during our project and poor communication from Champion throughout the process. The final project is what we hoped for, but it required bringing in experienced workers from outstate to take apart what was started and rebuild correctly. We have not gone through a winter or spring season yet to know if there will be any issues.
What was supposed to be a stressless experience by hiring a company to build our sunroom turned into a stressful process. We signed our contract in June 2022, and it wasn't finished until late July 2023. We had asked for more communication about our project but were left disappointed. We called customer service many times to try to initiate the communication we were looking for, as well as to fix problem areas.
I will never recommend Champion to anyone based on my experience with them. To do so would be an embarrassment to me and those I recommend them to.
The quality of the windows is excellent
I like the windows, good quality.
It took two years to complete my installation.
Love Champion Windows. They put in windows on the main floor of my house two years ago. I had them put windows in the basement level earlier this year. The windows are very nice looking and easy to open and close. They pop inwards for easy cleaning. I am able to make monthly payments. I love them. 😀
Sybil of Bloomington, Minnesota.
Sales person needs to bring his interview paperwork to my place and we will review what was discussed at the time Wes was here in February
The whole process was great a little mess up on the measure but it was great
The salesperson assisted us with good suggestions about our project. The final measurement person answered our follow-up questions about our project. This was reassuring as we did have some addition questions after the sale. Communications on any changes from the factory & final review were clear & thorough. The installation crew was professional and paid attention to detail. The actual windows & trim were better than expected.
They installed the wrong windows the first time.
04/01/22 I signed the contract for 4windows. It is 04/26/23 and the correct windows are still not installed. It took until April 13, 2023 for the windows to be installed but an issue that was identified in January at the first attempt was not fixed.
They had to paint the windows. They forgot to paint the screens on the inside. There are white spots on the inside showing through. There are stains in between the glass and there are scratches on the glass. They didn't seal the edges where they sealed the door. There is a gap in the floor where they installed it. They forgot to put in wood or something there. I am not very satisfied with the installation or the quality control.
They provided very minimal communication. The project started a year after our purchase. No one would answer the phone.
Would not recommend your service to anyone.. Call me and I can explain. 612-859-9726.
I haven't been impressed with their customer service.
It took them a year to install, and 3-4 months to fix a broken window. I still have a window that doesn't lock right. The spray foam is not right, and the door seal is bad two months after installation.
The installers were very efficient, fast, friendly, and cleaned up very well. I was impressed with them.
Window installation looks great and they all operate smoothly. Installation crew were professional and friendly. I enjoyed talking with them.
They do great work.
While the product itself is worth the horrible experience and aggravating process, there were times when I considered contacting my attorney for advice about canceling the job. I was promised the job would be accomplished within 6 months of signing and would take 5-10 days once started.
The job was STARTED 14 months after signing and took over 5 months to complete!!!
And - to this day - I have NEVER been communicated with from ANYONE in an official management representative capacity - only crew people - who had woefully little and often contradictory information about the status of my job and reasons for decisions. My life was “on hold” for months, because I never new from day-to-day, if crews would be there until the day-of. When they did come, they drove 2 hours to get here, spent 4hours working and drove 2 hours back to the home office. (Except for the Alabama crew who the company put in a motel here in town.) The waste of money, through mis-managed materials & employee time and energy in this company is ASTOUNDING!!!
And - today- 3 weeks after signing off, I am sitting in this (beautiful) sunroom looking out at a back yard of PILES of unused materials, scraps, nails, screws, and general trash - all around my back yard!
The crew people themselves (and their traveling regional foremen) were knowledgeable, friendly, professional and great to work with. (I was particularly impressed with how they maintained professional demeanor and respect for their company, even though they were obviously as frustrated as I with the HORRIBLE lack of management communication & project coordination.)
So, I have genuine mixed emotions about recommending Champion to a friend. The product is the best on the market (albeit could probably be cheaper if better management practices were employed). But the aggravation to actually get it built & completed - that’s an experience to which I wouldn’t want to expose my friends.
Yes, absolutely
My order was placed in April and the installation was in December.
They were very fast and efficient.
Customer service was terrible.
The sales woman said that if there was damage above or below the window it would be taken care of. When it came time to install the installer had no materials to replace the damaged trim in the living room that I showed both the dales woman and the guy that measured the window. They then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay an additional $400 per window. Then they came back and said they would cover 2 of the trim works and I would have to pay for the other 2 even though I told her that the living room was the only window that needed to be replaced but she did not listen to me. The installer then only did trim work around 2 windows and that I would be refunded for the charge of $800 that we were supposed to pay for the trim that was not done. To this day I have not been able to get a hold of anyone and the last time I talked to ANYONE was over a month ago when they said they were still trying to figure out what to do even though that was almost a month after the installation.
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made I have not come through with any single thing correctly
We signed the contract for a screen porch in July 2021. Work on the porch did not start until the middle of September 2022. There was not much communication from Champion during that time. What was surprising was that people had to be brought in from different states to do our work here.
