At the end of November 2022, Custom Concepts completed a large home improvement at our home in Oakton, Va. We had the two story home's original 1979 aluminum siding taken down and replaced by James Hardie fiber cement siding. At the same time, we replaced all of the original twenty one double hung windows and a sliding door, and had a new window cut out and installed on the second floor. It was a big job that went surprisingly smoothly. From teardown to completion it took just under three weeks. Custom Concepts staff, from the company president Danny Harper to the on-site crew of five installers, they were responsive, efficient, and professional. We could not have asked for better. They worked like a well oiled machine and did a high quality job. We are very pleased with their work and would whole heartedly recommend Custom Concepts for any home improvement work.

Custom Concepts was awesome. The work was beautiful, and the crew worked tirelessly, even on the weekends, to get the job done quickly. The price was actually less than several competitors in the area.

Best up-front pricing and I say that because I got eight estimates in total because most companies that do siding seem to be high-pressure scams. Custom concepts stayed on budget and got done in a timely fashion. Everything looks amazing, and my neighbors are almost as happy as I am with how it turned out because it changed the neighborhood's look.

Custom Concepts was so easy to work with from start to finish. We purchased out house from an elderly couple and it had been attacked by woodpeckers and had a lot of damage. They did a great job explaining everything from the design process through to initiation and throughout the project. Moreover, we have a small child and they found lead in the windows. The care they took to make sure that our son was not exposed to any lead was amazing. I have already recommended them to several people and will continue to do so. Everyone was a joy to have around and did such great work and the entire job which was to replace all windows, siding and several doors and gutters took less than 2 weeks. It was insane! Can’t say enough good things.

I am hesitant to write a review that sounds too glowing given these cynical days. I have to be honest Custom Concepts Construction over exceeded my expectations. They were very proffesional with keeping in touch daily with what they were going to do. Whenever they said they would be there at a certain time they were always there and arrive early. The quality of work so far has been impressive. Their attention to details was great! They had things that they suggested. I did follow their advice, and it paid off.

It was apparent from the initial visit how they obtained the "Elite Preferred" status with JamesHardie. Everyone from the field to the office we interacted with from the company was personable yet professional. When an issue surfaced that needed to be attended to the communication was prompt and the issue was solved. The attention to detail Danny and his crews displayed on the siding and deck totally transformed the look and functionality of our home. If you are looking to do an exterior renovation, I would encourage you to give them a call.

Custom Concepts Construction was great to work with from beginning to end. Michael was very engaged helping us through the planning process. He answered every question we had (we had a lot) and was very quick to respond. Our project scope changed quite a bit by the time we were able to schedule construction, and Michael helped us navigate through all of that. Most importantly, he came to the table with ideas on what we should do. That's what we were looking for, expert advice. Danny managed the project and was extremely responsive, thorough, and helpful through the whole process. This was a huge project for us (windows, doors, siding, soffit, trim, lights, porch remodel, etc) and having someone be so involved and responsive eliminated a lot of the stress. Again, we had a ton of questions, and Danny was quick to answer our questions and address any of our concerns. In the end, during our punch list review Danny pointed out some minor things to fix, that I hadn't even noticed, so his attention to detail was great. You can really tell that the team takes pride in their work. I think the first day the siding went up, they were as excited as we were. Juan led the day-to-day construction at the house, and he and his team did amazing work. The whole team was great, professional, and friendly. We worked often with Katherine for billing, and she was very responsive, kind and always helpful. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our 50+ year old house looks brand new...amazing! There were so many times throughout this process that I told my wife “Thank goodness we picked this company" because they were great throughout the entire process, and they do incredible work. It was a great experience from beginning to end, with a great end result. I couldn't recommend them more.

I think they did an excellent job on every level, from the execution of the work to the quality of the materials. They even offered options for financing that a lot of the other companies didn't offer. They were responsive and thorough in all aspects of completing this project. If there were any concerns I had, they responded immediately. I got a call yesterday from Danny, who owns the company. He said he reviewed our contract and realized he didn't give us credit for not putting the shutters back up on our house. On the original proposal, we were going to have the shutters put up. We decided not to do that. He credited us back $306.00 back on our credit card. He didn't have to do that and I wouldn't have known. That is the kind of operation they are running. They are trying to keep long time customers. Maybe someday we will put the shutters back on or have our deck done and I would go to them. This process has made me a fan. After seeing that they are a trustworthy company, in all aspects of doing work at your house, this is the company you want to use.

This company is very customer oriented. Every detail was given immediate attention and any issues resolved to the customer's satisfaction. Their work ethics are way above the normal. I cannot recommend this company enough. I plan on using them again on my next phase of upgrade. The constant updates given each day were appreciated, as the customer, you always knew how the job was progressing and any issues that arose could be addressed. I was impressed with the vast knowledge and skills the workman possessed and their knowledge of the materials they were using (Hardie).

I interviewed several companies for our roof and siding work and their proposal was the most comprehensive and detailed and they performed the work exactly to manufacturer’s specifications. Other companies just did not compare. Also they were not pushy. David from their siding crew was also excellent and skilled. I highly recommend Custom Concepts Construction.

Both Danny and Juan were exceptionally lovely to work with, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the beginning to end, Custom Concepts delivered a fine product in the least obtrusive way possible. Danny even helped me with a wet chimney problem and Juan patched a spot on my garage door. If you take any reviews to heart, this is one to believe in. My wife and I are real customers and have been very pleased with the siding project done by Custom Concepts. I worked in several trades to pay my way through college and am licensed as a professional engineer. It seems to be harder and harder to find good work from contractors - they are always very happy and shiny during the sales pitch, then it seems many turn the work over to day laborers. Our experience with Custom Concepts didn't go like that - the experience was positive throughout, and Danny was on site frequently and was easily reached if anything came up. Our project was expensive enough that I did a lot of homework and talked to a lot of companies, including asking who was going to do the actual work. Danny and Mike were very patient and addressed my questions politely. They do hire sub contractors (its how the system works), but they use people they have long standing relationships with. They were good about communicating changes in the schedule and working around our needs (I asked them to leave part of the driveway open as I need to charge my car at night and the cable is only so long). It rained maybe half the days they wanted to work, which was a challenge, but they let me know what was going on, and when the weather cleared on the weekend, they asked if it was ok to work extra on the weekends to make up the lost time. There was never a work day when they simply failed to show up. But, the most important part is the quality. I watched several of my neighbors get siding replaced extremely quickly. There is no way that the details were being taken care of. The crew at Custom Concepts took three weeks (with rain) to re-side my house, including replacing trim and some extra painting. Everything seemed to be done very carefully. I was very impressed that they even delayed doing some trim work for a couple of days because they were waiting for the correct width trim board - a detail the original builder had not bothered with - the original builder had simply rigged up two narrow boards, which of course had allowed water in, and they had rotted away. When they found some rotted sheathing, it was cut away and replaced. I want to also say that the crew was very patient and professional with me - I wanted the replace the hose bibs and the bathroom duct vents that stuck through the siding, and they worked around me getting the ones I wanted. Finally, I think the real test for any contractor is how they deal with "issues". There was one thing I wanted them to fix (I take half the blame as I wasn't clear) - a light fixture mounting block was installed in the wrong spot. I texted Danny about it, and he told me it would be fixed the next day - and it was! No B.S. And they made it look like it was always that way, not a patch. As other issues came up (its a 33 year old house), we discussed it, came up with a plan, and they sent over reasonably priced change orders to handle the extra work. The workers themselves were always very polite and friendly.

Custom Concepts Construction did an outstanding job installing new James Hardie siding and trim, a new GAF root and new gutters on my house. They took an tired looking house from the 1970s and turned into the best looking house in the neighborhood. Several of my neighbors have complemented me on the new look. My next door neighbor was very impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that the work crew demonstrated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Custom Concepts Construction to anyone.

Over the last 10 years living in this house, we've had multiple large construction projects. We typically spend months doing research to determine which company best suits our needs and at a reasonable price point. Overall, Custom Concepts was a "home run", and we're very satisfied with end result and price paid for their services.When I personally read reviews, I typically seek some "negative" feedback from customers, because no one ever meets every expectation. However, I can't think of one instance where I wasn't extremely satisfied with either their communication, detailed proposal, timely responses, cleanliness on the job site (inside and out), friendliness, and final product.My wife and I are very picky and detail oriented. When we performed the final walk-through to determine any remained work, I couldn't find anything, but the site manager was pointing out several VERY minor imperfections I never would of noticed had he not pointed them out.
