For our 1971 Cape Cod (1-1/2 story) house, our April 2023 project consisted of KasselWood Aged Cedar steel shingles with ridge vents, gutters & downspouts, aluminum fascia, and hidden vent soffits. We are fully satisfied with all aspects of the products and the process. But perhaps most importantly, Distinctive Metal Roofing helped us correct a serious problem with ventilation that had existed since the house was built. There had never been proper air flow from under the eaves up to the peak of the roof, because the space between the angled portion of the 2nd floor ceiling and the roof had been blocked with insulation. To correct the problem while maintaining the insulation for the 2nd floor living space, they had to remove all the roof decking in this area and install baffles above the insulation, then install new 1/2" plywood decking. Finally, they advised that we needed to block all 4 existing gable vents so that all ventilation would occur from the under the eaves to the ridge vents. We did this on our own after the roofing job was completed. We're writing this review 10 months later, and we can say that during the summer we noticed a significantly cooler house, especially the 2nd floor, which we attribute to both the great reflective nature of the coating on the KasselWood shingles combined with our now-resolved ventilation problem, both thanks to Distinctive Metal Roofing.

My 115 year old house never had attic ventilation and that topic was discussed at length. Gary explained everything to me and I understood the choice completely. The metal roof on my house and garage added such beauty and peace of mind knowing it will keep this house safe. I chose KasselWood cinder gray and am very pleased with the variable look it has. The house originally had a slate roof when it was built in 1905 and this roof is in keeping with that look. If you have an older or century home and are considering a metal roof this is the company for you!

We had them replace our main roof (slate) in 2019 and the front porch and addition (asphalt) in 2020. The addition included replacing 3 skylights. They also replaced the gutters on the main roof and front porch.

Both jobs were done with excellent craftsmanship, courtesy and cleanliness. They also finished in a timely manner despite weather issues. Top-notch all around. We will hire them again if we decide to add on to our house.

We started our search for metal roof quotes several months ago. Erie Construction was significantly high in price, and they were very pushy. Distinctive Metal Roofing (Bruce) quoted us at half the cost, and was low pressure. Not to mention, their metal roofing options are simply gorgeous.

Bruce & Gary were very patient with us and guided us the entire way. We went with KasselWood Weathered Cedar. They placed the metal roof over our existing roof. The team was very professional and did a great job. The clean up was great as well. We are so happy with the results and already have had several neighbors asking about the roof! Additional Comments - I was highly impressed with the level of customer service Bruce and Gary provided! They run things like a well-oiled machine! Bruce was able to meet with us very soon after inquiring about their services and provided us with a ton of information about the product as-well-as pictures of other projects they did with the same shingle-style. I saw the same professionalism in Gary as the dumpster and materials were dropped off the day before and the workers promptly showed up the next morning and started working immediately! The work site was always kept clean and they worked quickly to get our roof completed in one day. They were also able to move up the date of the job by two weeks! I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with!

Everything about both the process and the new roof is excellent.

Their customer service and knowledge was top-notch. They always answered all of our questions and gave us all the information we might need for our project.
