I had been putting off renovating my DC row home for years and it needed a lot of work. I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to start but the Hammer team walked me through the whole process from start to finish. They explained all my options and came up with multiple plans for me at various price points. I really appreciated the time they took to thoroughly explain everything and I never felt rushed or pressured. My project manager, Victor, and my designers, Johanna and Rebecca, were fantastic. They kept me well informed and the project was completed ahead of schedule. I couldn't be happier with the results and I will definitely use Hammer again for future projects.

HAMMER TIME !! Our project was huge and we had a million questions and concerns. From the pre-meeting on Day 1 to the final walk-through, our whole-house remodel was more than the welcome transformation we had anticipated. Hammer contractors held our hands through the entire process, and easily incorporated our ideas and thoughts into their architectural designs - as well as allowing me to get my hands dirty to help reduce cost. We were impressed with the project management and communication throughout the entire process. Hammer had more than enough expertise to do the job right... the first time.. and fixed any and every potential problem that they uncovered during demolition. When our project went a bit outside their comfort zone (like shellac-ing the entire first floor due to nicotine staining) Hammer contractors engaged the experts at Sherwin-William to make sure they had the right materials and procedures to get it done right.

Follows through with the repairs but make sure you get all the details fine tuned up front otherwise they will nickel and dime you for every change.

A year after the job was completed we are still delighted with the work Hammer did for us. Working with Greg and Andres on the design was an enjoyable process. The workers were dedicated and tidy. It was a much different (better) experience than I heard from friends who had other firms do their kitchens.

Hammer contractors distinguished themselves by working through a potentially difficult permitting process and succeeded where others had failed, from concept to design, to permitting, to construction, to follow-up service. The finished product was a show piece of design and workmanship. They cooperated to find solutions to inevitable problems so that in the end we are very satisfied. Those who see the addition are very impressed with how well it integrates with the existing structure.

Hammer Contractors' designer did a good job designing the Elfa system installed in all the bedroom closets and the coat closet with The Container Store. The installation and paint work were also superb. As a result, the storage space has been almost doubled in the closets, and the appearance of the closets is a world of difference from their original one rod and one shelf tired look. They also did a good job recommending and installing hardwood flooring in the rooms on the main floor. Their attention to details is always what I have appreciated the most, and it is the reason I keep asking them to come back to work on various renovation projects. They've also renovated my kitchen and bathrooms and replaced my roof.
