This company was a subcontractor to our general contractor. I was not able to communicate with those working on the roof because I could not speak to someone in English.

There were also several issues with the roof that I had to contact the general contractor about and they came back to fix. While they were extremely fast in getting the roof done - starting at 8 AM and they had the new roof completed by 4 PM. This made it difficult for me to know if they did a good job of creating seals around vents and pipes since the roof was done so quickly. Given the issues that I saw with the roof, I am a little concerned I may have leaking issues in the future. Since the roof was completed in the fall, we have only had one rain where I could try to inspect, but it was not a hard enough rain to really test the integrity of the roof install.

I was hoping to get a few more years out of my roof. However this fall I noticed a small leak in the attic near the chimney. ABC just did my siding earlier in the year and they were my first call. They were already booked out so I did start getting quotes from other companies. However John came out and gave me a quote right away. Some competitors wanted up to two hours of my time just to get a quote. John was timely, helpful and answered all my questions in a short meeting. He also later called to let me know they could fit me in the schedule and completed the job right away. In a day the reroofing was completed.

Helwig worked as a subcontractor as we had issues with scheduling, trampling flowers, and having to come back 2 or 3 times to get a job finished properly. Happy with the outcome but not the route it took. Plus they didn't clean up the nails and staples and we are still finding them in the lawn a couple of weeks later.

First, let me say that I did significant roof/shingle research and met with/got proposals from at least six roofers. After that, I felt confident choosing Helwig Roofing LLC. I could not be more satisfied with my roof that Helwig installed. Tim was very helpful and wonderful to work with. The Crew did a great job and were excellent in communicating anything I asked about the job. My job site was cleaned up immaculately and the roof looks beautiful. I am actually rather proud of it. If I ever need another roof, only Helwig will install it. I highly recommend them to anyone else needing a roofer.

Due to a hail storm, all the roofs within several miles needed replacement. This provided an opportunity to observe the installation practices of 30+ roofing companies. Singles were pulled off of roofs covered in snow. Singles were installed in near-freezing weather with subsequent winds storms possible creasing shingles. Singles were installed over multiple days, and in the rain. Singles were installed without the roof felt being entirely removed on the entire house due to inclement weather. Helwig worked with us to not install the roof in winter, but on a dry day in summer allowing the shingles to fully adhere to each other, and got the job done in less than one day with minimal issues.
