The craftsmanship on my roof and siding was top-notch. I cannot complain with the work that was done or the professionalism of the teams performing. The handling of the finances was an issue and took work on my part and their part to sort out. Be sure all the financial components that will be part of the total package are understood and well documented up front.
Each step provided individual managers available to answer questions and oversee project.
Knowledge is exceptional.
Good working employees and cleaned up very well
The consult with Mitch was great. Using a drone he was able to show me the conditon of my roof and gutters. After his inspection we discussed the work to be done and agreeing on the work to be performed. The work crew arrived and finished the job in the time frame established. I am happy with the work and the clean up when the job was completed.
the roof is leaking during the storm this past week
But I would warn them about trying to add expense by scare tactics.
Home Genius replaced my roof. The Project Manager kept me in the loop and answered all of my questions and the crew did an excellent job.
I would recommend Home Genius Exteriors to a friend. I was very pleased with the whole process.
Very professional new roof install
Have already told people abut who did the work. My only concern was the increase in price.
From our initial meeting with the company representative (Daryl) through the roof installation / clean-up process and subsequently the close-out meeting with the project manager (Luke) the overall experience truly exceeded our expectations. We found all involved to be very knowledgeable, courteous, thorough and professional. The timeliness of getting us scheduled for project start-up, the coordination of work-flow tasks and the efficiency of project completion is remarkable, and we would not hesitate to recommend Home Genius Exteriors to family and friends.
I have told everyone about my new roof and the gutters and downspouts. I would recommend you very strongly.
Home Genius was so easy to work with. There crew came
I recommend this service for everyone.
I never compared prices. It seemed fair. I had a roof put on my place in Florida. I kind of knew the ballpark range.
This was an awesome expereince....every area had very competent and helpful personnel--from sales to installation...everything about their process is A-1. They accomplished everything just as they said they would...I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. It was a gift to have a friend recommend Home Genious to me...
Very happy with the finished job. compliments from neighbors
I do not recommend Home Genius Exteriors. If I could give this review a negative 100, I would. I trusted your company to perform the work as agreed upon, but that trust has been broken. Not only was I overcharged, but the work promised was not completed. Here is one of the many install issues. Home Genius Exteriors failed to install proper ventilation on my roof, leading to mold. In my opinion, when I raised this issue, the tone of your representative was misleading, intimidating, and dishonest during the conversation and he left without addressing my valid concerns. After a month of runarounds, nothing has been done.
As a disabled veteran, I value honesty and integrity—principles your company has failed to uphold. This experience has put a significant financial burden on me and is causing great difficulties impacting my well-being and the stability of my residence. In my honest opinion as a consumer who trusted a company that seemed trustworthy, the lack of honesty and ethics throughout my experience with this entire company is frankly repulsive. Based on my experience, Home Genius Exteriors does not deserve the trust of customers with its predatory and dishonest practices.
I am including some other findings from an independent 3rd party I hired to inspect my roof to get answers. This contractor is a platinum-preferred Owens Corning contractor.
Observed: Shingle Overlap: When installing shingles on a roof, it/s crucial that they do not lap over each other
Observed: Improper Nail Placement: When nails are placed too close to the butt joints (the horizontal seams where the ends of shingles overlap) in roofing shingles, several problems can occur.
Observed: Partial Overlay to Dormer end walls: Leaving a second layer of shingles on a roof, also known as re-roofing or overlaying, can present several risks and potential issues.
Observed: Errors and Omissions: Lack of step flashings: If proper step flashing is not installed on a roof, several significant issues can arise, impacting both the integrity of the roof and the overall structure of the building. Step flashing is critical for waterproofing and protecting areas where the roof meets vertical surfaces, such as walls, chimneys, or skylights. Here are some of
Observation: Counter Flashings/Appear to be existing/Not Removed and replaced. Counter flashing is a crucial component of a roofing system, installed to protect the joint between a vertical surface (like a wall or chimney) and the roof itself. It overlaps with step flashing, directing water away from these vulnerable intersections. If counterflashing is not changed out or properly maintained when needed, several issues can arise.
Observation: Incorrect Pipe Boot Installation: "Forever boot was to be installed per customer" Installing a roof pipe vent incorrectly can lead to several significant problems. Roof pipe vents, also known as plumbing vents or vent stacks, are crucial for proper drainage and ventilation in your plumbing system.
Observation: Ice and water shield: Was not installed properly installed as parts of the ice and water shield still have the cellophane attached to it and does not bind to the roof's decking.
Observation: Underdriven Nails, Overdriven Nails
Observation: Exposure refers to the portion of a shingle that is visible once it’s installed on the roof. Proper exposure is critical for ensuring that shingles perform effectively, providing protection and maintaining the integrity of the roofing system. When shingles do not have the correct exposure, several issues can arise.
I hope no one else has to suffer the same extreme circumstances Home Genius Exteriors have forced caused me.
Save yourself the pain and suffering.
Very unprofessional. Does not care about people's property. Killed 6 pepper plants,2 tomato plants, broke 3 solar lights. Found over 150 nails in my yard....so far. Were supposed to cover my pool...not. found nails on my solar cover. Would not recommend them .
I have no problem letting people know you guys do exceptional work and the clean up was perfect!!! Even dumpster gone NEXT DAY !!!
Very good at what they do Very good at cleaning up as they go Very aware of our needs when it came to my dog
This company did work on a 125 year old Queen Anne style house, which is 2 ½ stories high with a very steep roof pitch of 45 degrees. I had 1650 square feet of roof replaced, and a 45” x 20” chimney taken down to the wall plate. I rated the job using six categories to come up with my three star rating:
1- Cost (3 stars)
Very high pricing structure, which includes unforeseen lumber costs of $14.88 / linear foot if any deck planks need replaced.
2 - Communication Between sales rep and project manager (1 star)
Company sales rep did not convey customer requirements and concerns to the project manager. The job could not begin until the project manager arrived to sort things out.
3 - Crew Roofing Skill (5 stars)
Neri and his crew are a highly experienced roofing unit.
4 - Job Clean-up (5 stars)
Neri’s crew did an excellent clean-up job.
5 - Crew Carpentry Skill (2 stars)
This crew does roofing exceedingly well, but their carpentry skills are suited only to replacing decking boards and such. My chimney removal required structurally sound rafter reconstruction. I had to climb into the attic to show them how to extend a main rafter to maintain roof integrity.
6 – Project Manager (4 stars)
Because of the poor communication between the sales rep the project manager, Brandon, had to do a lot of juggling, but he did a great job of getting this job to the finish line.
Over all, I am content with the end product.
Home Genius Exteriors was good. I was very satisfied with them, especially with the one-day deal to get it done. They did an excellent job. There are one or two little items, like the downspout elbow coming out, that I need to get someone back out to fix. However, as far as the roof, they did a good job. I have only found about 12 nails. They cleaned up most everything and left the place very nice. I can't say enough about them. I was very pleased with Home Genius Exteriors.
They were very efficient with the job that they did on my apartment.
I did refer Home Genious to a friend in a nearby neighborhood. He had been postponed repeatedly by another company. He agreed to have Home Genious do his roof and is very satisfied. So I got a customer for Home Genious!
Yes
The workers came early in the morning and stayed until the job was finished. They worked efficiently and knew how to finish the job quickly. They did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris. When they left you could not tell any work was done.
Scheduling was easy, things happened when they were scheduled, workers were courteous, professional, and diligent, and the roof looks great!
In the 20+ years that I've lived in my house, my roof looks better than it ever has before. The roofers worked pretty much non-stop in the ridiculous heat. In addition to having the roof redone, I also had work done around the chimney & a skylight was replaced. Even my very picky neighbor, who always keeps an eye on work getting done at my house, thought they did a great job.
The installation team did very good work in oppressive heat.
The roofing job was completed on July 2 to my satisfaction.
However The workers left a large quantity of lumber and other roofing materials in my backyard
I have made 3 phone calls and sent an email to Andy Leach at Home Genius Exteriors since July 5 requesting the removal of these items. I have NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM ANYONE AT THIS COMPANY
With time to reflect on this, I wish I would have gotten more quotes. With talking with other firends neighbors, and family I feel as though i majorly overpaid for the work that was done.
I paid them with $1,000 check and they lost it. Was not happy about it called me a month later and told me I still would have to pay the deposit, 😡
The estimate was about what I was expecting, but the job was scheduled much sooner than expected. The work started on schedule and was completed in a timely manner (two days).
Process was comfortable and efficient from beginning to end.
Absolutely not. I would never hire this company for any job whatsoever.
Not recommending
strong work ethics, hard working, and professional.
I would never recommend Home Genius Exteriors.
Very easy to work with.
Workers did good work as far as I can tell but the people in charge seemed really unorganized. The costumer service was kind of a big selling point from what the inspector told me so this was very disappointing.
Communication was difficult with the crew. After what I paid for the project you would think I would be able to at least talk to someone who could understand me. Always had to wait for Luke Miller (project Manager) to show up and he even had a difficult time.
Very thorough, price was right and the job was completed within a week.
Knowledgeable salespeople and quality of work.
A pleasant experience all around!
