The tub door does not close properly. The door handle meets the side of the tub well above the striker plate and must be forced very hard to close. The person who came out to fix it said, with assurance, that most of the doors have this problem and this one was not as bad as others he has seen. He said nothing could be done about it because the doors are manufactured so that they don't fit. He said that he could bring out another type of hinge that was adjustable but that it might very well fail because the screws move back to the original holes. He said the problem with realigning the door so that it closes properly is that the top of the door then doesn't align with the top of the tub: it sticks up above the tub edge.
The first cap for the knee wall was a piece of acrylic with trim to cover the joint with the side of the wall. It looked unsightly and now the top of the trim pieces are pulling back at one place on the top. The man who came out to repair the door had a sample of a proper thick cap which was a good color match. He wanted to put the new cap over top of the existing and do a lot of caulking on the underside. I said the right way to do it is to remove the cap then in place, and put the new one directly on top of the unfinished wall top. He readily agreed but was leaving without measuring for it. He thought that would be a good idea when I asked him to do it. He had trouble measuring the knee wall for a cap and didn't seem to register that "rounded" was not specific enough to describe the edge. I showed him the edge on the vanity top and said it was "eased" and he kept saying, "Yea, rounded."
The original installers had to remove the bedroom and bathroom doors to allow the tub to pass by. They first suggested that my contractor rehang them. When I said I wanted therm to do it, they put the doors in the wrong opening so that neither of them will close properly. I had just had all the doors in the house realigned and fitted with new hardware so it is certain that both closed perfectly before the Home Smart men removed them.
They had to take down several pictures on the stairwell wall but forgot about putting them back up. When they did, one was hung sideways and the nail for the other was pulled from the wall and came down when I tried to straighten it after they left.
The acrylic on the tub side of the knee wall was cut in two pieces rather than one leaving an unnecessary seam. The original cap for the knee wall was cut with sharp edges at the corners.
The crew, from start with demonstration to finish of installation, was professional, courteous, and constantly kept us informed of progress. When they finished with the installation, they left behind an immaculate area.
The presentation was professionaly done and very thorough. The installation team was extremely knowledgeable and professional in all aspects. We would recommend this company and our installation team without hesitation.
I will fill out the form as soon as I talk to Jared Powell - he owes me a call to discuss the installation.
Very professionally done. I would highly recommend them.
From sales to installation, everyone was very professional. We would definitely recommend to our friends!
price very high
They did an excellent job.
See my previous survey response.
Installer was professional and courteous. Very satisfied with the installation. Without getting prices from other installers, I knew going into contract that it was going to be an expensive project. But based on the quality of the installation, I would recommend Home Smart Industries.
Due to delays in the project and a lack of requested product, coupled with a lack of communication, we would be hesitant to recommemd this company.
The shower exceeded my expectations. It turned out beautiful. Had no problems during or after installation. Happy I went with Koehler/Home Smart.
I would highly recommend kohler and Home Smart Industries to anyone looking for a walk in tub. Our experience with them was very good that is why we highly recommended them.
Installation was accomplished professionally and in a timely manner.
The sales and install were done very professionally. When the install crew left for the day all tools and such were put into the shower and out of the way. They covered furniture and cleaned up when they were finished,
Overall a great experience. Helped us solve some issues in advance & install went great. Support post install has also been very good
The salesman was very informative and knowledgeable about the walk-in tub. The installers arrived at the designated time and worked into the evening hours to finish the project. We are very satisfied with the installation. It is neat and very well done. All of the materials and debris were cleaned up. Before they left, we were given a demonstration of how to use the tub and its accessories. . We are very satisfied with our purchase.
Excellent shower installation and wonderful shower. Highly recommend.
Our experience from sales to installation was great. We love the new shower. No more trying to get in and out of Tub!
We love our new shower stall installation! The seamless LuxStone made the space look elegant.
They were punctual, worked very hard. Ate lunch in very short time. Left everything clean. Especially I would like to recommend Nelson Peralt, because he really went an extra mile to finish everything on time and for my liking. Plus he is a very nice person.
Great experience
We have a one bathroom home. The tub to shower conversion was completed in one day. The installation team was neat and cleaned up after themselves. They also took all of the scrap materials with them to dispose.
Was excellent from installation to service. No issues . One issue that was solved immediately, the installers cleaned up beautifully.
Sales person was great and installers were fantastic
Originally I was looking to change from tub to shower for when my senior parents move in. However then I suffered a knee injury that required surgery. Homemsmart recognized that my current set up would make my recovery more difficult so they ensured that my new shower would be done before my surgery and they met that goal. Working with the home smart team from the sales representative to the installation team was professional and they cared about the customer. I would recommend the team and product.
We are very happy with our new shower installation. The men who worked on the project were excellent: we were consulted at each step to ensure we knew what we were getting and the workmanship was very professional. Highly recommend!
From start to finish, Home Smart and its personnel were delightful to work with.
Worst experience of my life for $20,000
The LuxStone shower didn't come out looking as I expected, so I am not convinced it was a good value for the money.
Please see remakrs below. We are very dissatisfied.
The entire process was very professional and exceeded my expectations. The salesperson was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. She took the time to fully understand the scope of the work required and filmed a video explaining all of the required steps for the installers. The two installers were friendly, thorough, and they quickly answered any questions I had throughout the process. The installation went smoothly due to their expertise. Overall I am pleased with the installation process and the completed product.
Does not leave customer with a com[pleted product/ job.
The sales person was very pleasant and knowledgeable. At least we thought so at the time. The first problem occurred when we got the call to arrange for installation. At that time it was explained to me that the glass wouldn't be installed until a later date because the glass was custom cut and they couldn't take the measurements until the shower was installed. That wait time would take an additional 4 weeks. I don't know if we would have purchased if we had known that from the beginning. It meant we wouldn't have a working shower for 4 weeks. We do have a second full bath, but that has a tub and I have mobility issues and can't climb in and out of the tub. The installers came when scheduled and fortunately found immediately that the base that was ordered was too small. Since they did not have one in stock we had to wait and additional 8 weeks for a new one to arrive. Once again the installers arrived on schedule and the shower was installed. It wasn't until later that day that the old base was loaded into the installers truck. It took about 1.5 hours for someone to arrive with the correct base. It took two days for the installation and the glass guy came 3 days later to take the measurements. It took about 3.5 weeks for the glass people to come for the installation. In the meantime my husband ordered a free standing nylon changing tent that he was able to install in the shower so that I could use it . As the glass team was bringing in the glass I noticed that the glass was clear and we had ordered frosted glass. I immediately said something and was told that he was not informed about the glass and generally does not do that. I let him continue with the installation so that I would have a usable shower. This was a Friday so the following week I called Home Smart to inform them about the glass and to ask about how to handle the balance. They put me in touch with my project manager who took the blame about the glass because she didn't see about the frosted glass in the contract, at the time, She gave me a couple options that I said we would be willing to discuss further. She said she wanted to talk to the glass vendor first and would get back to me. That was 2 days ago
Very polite and knowledgeable.
Salesman never called us back after leaving 4voicemails for him
My new shower is beautiful
Yes I would recommend this company to you. The only comment I have is that when the sales rep comes out maybe it would be beneficial to have a contractor with them so they could explain more of the details of the actual installation process so you know the job is going to be done correctly and very well.I recommend you read all of my comments in this review in order to justify this state
