It took a full year for my project to get finished. The project included re-shingling, fixing ceiling damage and re-painting/texturing, new gutters, and replacing damaged siding. Most of this work had to be done twice because it was done wrong the first time (examples: subcontractors replaced siding on the undamaged side of the house instead of the damaged side, replacement gutters were a different color than they should have been). Interstate staff were polite and ultimately everything was finished to my satisfaction, but their communication with me and the process were horrible.

Tom and the crew at Interstate did an exemplary job on the roof. The interface between me, the home owner, and Interstate was "seamless", and hassle free. Originally, I planned to pursue a warrantee claim against the prior roofing materials, and Tom used his skill and expertise to come up with an alternate approach that was totally successful. Tom worked with my schedule needs during our several meetings and was very flexible. Excellent customer service overall.

First of all, we had a unique and challenging situation due to our insurance agent leaving the company in the middle of the project. This made it hard for Interstate to work with our insurance company and helped cause the project to carry on for a total of about a year between opening the claim and finishing. That said, there were definitely some problems with Interstate.Our project manager was nice, but there were times where I would not hear from him for weeks at a time. Often, texts/calls would go unanswered. This applied to updates on the project as well as contacting him for follow ups to the work (I eventually gave up asking about things that weren't essential). Sometimes, things I had requested were done while I was at work, but I had no indication my text/voice mail was ever received. I would have appreciated any response, even if all it said was "no changes, still trying to contact the insurance company". Instead we were often left guessing. Even if there wasn't any progress being made, a quick, simple response would have vastly changed our opinion of the project.
