Project took entirely too long to be completed and the workers were not supervised. The workers walked off the job because issues were brought to their attention and the project manager had to be called for them to return and complete their work. The items moved by them to repair the floor were not returned to the proper location and they were driving down the driveway without notifying me that they were gone. My floor is damaged because they would not place the refrigerator back. Informed the project manager what happened and nothing was done. No more contact has been initiated by Jenkins.
Jenkins sent a team out to our house right away to help with restoration after a burst pipe damaged our finished basement. Ali and Aeremy were so knowledgeable, hard working and kind. They came and assessed the trouble and were returned soon after with the necessary equipment to get the drying out process started. They were on top of communication with me and kept me informed of each step in the process. I felt completely at ease that they were taking care of the situation and they made this nightmare a little less awful. No one could have done more to help. I would highly recommend this team if you have a water disaster that needs to be cleaned and dried properly to avoid mold and contamination. They really know their stuff!! Thanks for everything, you guys are the best!!
They were very quick to respond to my needs. Dillon Woods was easy to work with and it was a pleasure under distressful circumstances.
Very professional and good team
Recovering from damage in your home is never easy but from start to finish Emmanuel Manahan and his crew were top-notch: always on time, professional, hard-working, cordial and respectful of my home, cleaning up after each visit. Emmanuel was especially helpful in answering questions related to replacement items and tracking down just the right materials. I give them my highest recommendation.
BEWARE OF JENKINS RESTORATION. After a fire, we unfortunately hired Jenkins to restore our guest house. An insurance company had recommended them, which seemed promising. However, dealing with Jenkins proved worse than the fire itself, filled with additional trauma and disappointment.
Our guest house is modest, less than 900 sq ft, yet Jenkins failed us at every turn. Their service agreement was heavily biased in their favor, leaving us with little recourse for their substandard work, which they fully controlled. Their one-year warranty and lack of oversight are red flags. It became apparent that Jenkins prioritizes profit over quality, as they seemed to rely on customers moving on rather than addressing issues.
Their subcontractors were incompetent, performing as poorly as entry-level amateurs. Supervision was virtually nonexistent, focusing instead on chasing new business. We observed these subcontractors drinking on the job and inadequately measuring roofing materials, leading to significant discrepancies and delays. Their unprofessional conduct extended to smoking inside a structure that had previously burned down.
Structurally, their work was alarming. Major parts of the roof lacked necessary supports, which they claimed always passed inspection. However, an inspection failed, and only after intervention by an interim contractor did we manage to address this before a reinspection.
Siding installation was equally disastrous, with crooked and mismatched pieces and improper nailing that caused potential for leaks and further damage. The cleanup process was a constant battle, requiring multiple requests to remove visible trash and debris.
It took 8.5 months and over $100,000 just reach rough end inspections, for just 875 sq ft. We eventually had to work with the insurance company's VP of Vendor Relations to extract ourselves from the contract after demonstrating Jenkins' negligence through videos from a licensed engineer.
Many reviews echo our experience, citing issues like indoor smoking, on-the-job drinking, lack of supervision, and poor craftsmanship. Despite some high ratings online, a closer look reveals a troubling pattern.
I advise caution if considering Jenkins Restoration. Review their totally one-sided, egregious agreement, be prepared for significant challenges. Our experience was marked by lost time, money, and effort, a warning to anyone valuing their property and well-being.
We had a very positive experience. The team worked quickly, did not make a huge mess, and the quality of work was good. Customer service was quite good, too!
Jenkins Restoration Service did an excellent job on our home. Steve and the crew came and cleaned out our home after the house firel We pray we do not need them again, but if we do we will not hessitate to call them .Thanks for your great service.
Unfortunately I cannot provide a review of your work or an actual service date because no one had the common courtesy to return my calls after 2 attempts to get someone to respond and schedule an appointment. I initially called to request a estimate and was told someone would reach out in 24 - 48 hours. After a week no one returned my call so I called back to follow up. The woman who answered confirmed my information was in the system and was surprised I hadn't heard from anyone. She attempted to reach out to the project manager while I was on the phone and assured me he would call back. Today is October 24th, another week has gone by, and this company has proven to me they clearly don't need or want my business because I have yet to receive a call. At this point it would be a waste of my time and yours to try and rectify this because I have zero confidence in your project manager's ability to manage an extensive restoration project when he is not organized or professional enough to return a simple phone call. I will also be interested to see if this review even makes it to your site since you appear to be screening all of them. I would like to also say on a positive note that the woman who answered the phone was very nice, very apologetic and I got the impression she wanted to be helpful so I would attribute the 1 rating solely to her. Truly unfortunate that she has to work with people who fall short in their ability to provide basic levels of customer service which does nothing but force her to deal with frustrated customers. Also I want to clarify the address provided is for your verification by mail process. It is not the address of the property I called about with the damage which is a rental property I own in Newport News. You may want to consider including this question as method of verification because you are assuming the mailing address and where the work was performed is the same and in my case they are completely different.
I had water damage and was a basket case worried about my home. Tyler was so good to calm me down and assure me they would take care of me and my home. He was true to his word. Thank God for the kindness and work ethic of your company. I would recommend Jenkins to Anyone and Everyone. You are blessed to have a Great young man like Tyler representing your Company.
Dealing with Jenkins Restoration was more damaging to me mentally than the tornado that actually hit my house.
The rescue team was on time for the emergency - just what the customer needed.
They promised to have my repairs done in a timely manner, but it took several months longer than stated to complete the work. I was given assurances over and over, only to have deadlines pass without explanation or apologies. I had to make far too many calls to get status on the project. The only reason this is 2 stars, and not 1 star, is they did quality work.
I'm very pleased with Jenkins and I highly recommend them to anyone. They have excellent contactors that are on call and ready to please.
Once the process finally started they were reasonably efficient, quick, and kept up correspondence with us along the way.
As Jenkins didn't do the full scope of my home repair - they didn't properly do the initial water mitigation too. They charged me a very high amount for a job that they left at the middle and didn't even think of finishing properly.
The company failed to dry out my house properly and because of that I ended up with a basement and kitchen full go mold, which has caused further damage to my home and put mine and my family’s health at risk.
Jenkins helped me out after a fire. Unfortunately, it was during a pandemic, so there were material shortages. Jenkins was very communicative, and keeping me in the loop. I would recommend Jenkins to anybody.
Poor quality of work
Jenkins Restorations arrived promptly after our family room flooded from a burst water heater. They wasted no time in arriving on a Saturday to set up the necessary fans to dry the flooring. We were very pleased with their remediation services and would definitely recommend them to a friend.
Shaun Bryne was extremely professional from start to finish. He even stopped by for a courtesy visit after the project was over to check if we were satisfied with all the work completed. The contractors by Jenkins, knew their job, were always on time, did a good job and cleaned up daily at the end of the day.The contractor also offered me helpful tips.
I started my restorations project in February and it is still not complete. I had a pipe bust.
Jenkins Restorations does not follow-up with the work intended or performed. They do not monitor their subcontractors well. Project Manager lacked any follow-up with us as the homeowner regarding repairs, project status, or phone calls/texts placed with him
It would be nice if more people on their team spoke English.
We still have three warranty items that they have not taken care of. They just turned it over to us.
