Everything from start to finish went wonderfully. Making the initial appointment was easy; the owner's explanation of the work needed was thorough and detailed; Katie in the front office explained the schedule and arranged for samples, and was informative on what to expect during the work. The crew that arrived to do the work was polite, pleasant and did a wonderful job including clean-up. The price was fair. I can't think of a better experience. Have already recommended KLAM to anyone I know who owns a roof! This is the most positive experience I have ever had with a major home improvement project. I had "dreaded" having to replace my roof, but from the very first call with KLAM, their professionalism made it easy and enjoyable. Abel spent almost two hours assessing the situation, and explained in great detail what was needed. The communication was flawless (kudos Katie), the workmanship was outstanding (kudos Manuel), the hardworking crew made sure that every step of the process was professional. They kept the property spotless and corrected long-standing ventilation problems on my home, so the roof is now much better than new. I continue to be impressed by Abel, whose personal final inspection involved going up on the roof again and meticulously checking out every detail firsthand. This company is 100% a pleasure to do business with.

This is the second time I have been using Klam Construction for a roofing project. The first time they reroofed a small church, and this time my home. The owner, Able, is extremely knowledgeable about roofing and roofing materials, and he gave me valuable advice about how to improve my roof at home so that the attic will be ventilated better, cutting down on heating costs. The whole crew, from Katie, the office person, to the workers who did the actual work, felt very harmonious, responsive and friendly -- a reflection of Abel's integrity and caring attitude.

Getting a roof replaced is very expensive and stressful. We had to get ours replaced during the rainy season due to leaks. Out of all of the bids we received, we felt that KLAM provided the best product and service warranty for the money. They were also up front about which plywood boards needed to be replaced. Our house is old enough that it had sections with boards and some without. Abel was very informative during the bidding process and was the only one to provide a detailed diagram of how the roof venting system would look like on our roof. It was great to have this information and a sense of how things will look when the project is done. None of the other roofing companies we got estimates from provided that but wanted to replace all the plywood boards. We also had our chimney removed at a reasonably price compared to the other bidders. Katie at the front office was very responsive to any of our concerns or questions. Any issues that came up were resolved. We were initially given a time line of several weeks out, however a clearing in the weather for 2 to 3 days got us scheduled and the project was done in 3 days, just in time for some heavy rain. The job site was also kept clean in the evenings and any issues found during the final walkthrough were taken care off within a few days. We heard about KLAM through a friend, and I also see ourselves recommending them to others.

He was also the only one who actually got up on our roof and inspected it before preparing his bid. While on the roof, he noticed a problem with the facing around our chimney. His team fixed it at no charge. Klam's price was less than the other companies, and we are extremely satisfied with the quality and professionalism of the company. Work Done Right - One morning it appeared a section of shingles was not laying down flat and sealing properly. Rather than wait and see if it would resolve itself and seal in the heat of the following day or two the crew notified Abel and he had additional bundles of shingles from a different lot brought out and the crew replaced the questionable shingles right then and there. some bundles from a different lot of shingles and notified Owens-Corning of the possible problem.

I’m “over the moon” pleased with the quality and speed of work provided by Klam. Professional, knowledgeable and efficient every step of the way. They should rename their company to “Magical Experience” because it was exactly that for me.

Areas Of Satisfaction - First, we wanted to replace insulation in our upper story, and Able worked closely with the insulation company to pull off a tricky bit of timing.Then, in the process of replacing our roof, dry rot in our “eyebrow” windows was discovered. Replacing these 100 year-old, hand-crafted windows would have been super expensive. BUT they looked carefully and found that it was not the window, but the frame that held the self-contained window in place. They crafted new frames, reinstalled the windows, and saved us thousands of dollars! This is the second house that KLAM has installed for us, and we highly recommend them.

Having moved to the area after retiring as a residential general contractor, I am used to interviewing, hiring, and overseeing other contractors, but have no contacts here. I needed my own roof done, and called suppliers for a list of their best roofers. From there I got bids, researched each company, and KLAM was an easy choice. I was confident in their knowledge, professionalism and product. Not the biggest or fanciest, they are also not the cheapest - which means they are able to deal with unexpected events.With great communication leading up to the start of the project from Abel and Katie, the crew and support people were always on time and worked very hard. We had a large cedar shake roof on a steep pitch with several rooflines/ridges, so it was a big job. Protecting our new deck and many plants surrounding the house was a concern, but they took the time and effort to avoid damage without my prompting. The quality of the roofing, workmanship, and cleanup was more than expected. I checked their work every day after they left (always protected from rain, even when not forecast), and everything was always on track. Additional Comments - Like most homeowners looking for contractors, I had no-shows bids, a very high bid, and a scary, low bid. KLAM was in the middle. Part of the reason I went with them was that they didn't push upgrades or easy ways of on a difficult job. The highest bidder (by $20k) missed a crucial component of redoing the roof ventilation, and pushed the highest level of roofing hard.

KLAM construction is a "class" organization. I recommend them without reservation.

My home's age is approaching 100 years and the roof design is complicated by lack of eaves and soffit, the presence of a central located chimney, valleys, and later added dormer & sky lights. Able and his crew carefully studied the situation and recommended ventilation improvements as well as insulation and a membrane cover for the dormer's flat roof. Milo and his crew installed the baffles, vents, architectural grade shingles, and welded membrane with great care. The finished roof looks terrific!
