I have already recommended. I’m trying to talk all my friends who are considering buying in the next 12-18 months into moving to Bungalow Heights. Not only is the quality and beauty of the homes amazing (who doesn’t want to live in a beach house???!!), but the thought that the McCaleb family put into how this community (the neighborhood Bungalow heights) would connect was way more than I could have expected. The residents all know each other, look out for one another and hang out together! It’s incredible. Part of that is because of the McCalebs building an amazing clubhouse/pool/gym! And initiating a Facebook group for neighbors! Come be my neighbor!

DISLIKES- some builder unwillingness to make upgrades, even when we were relatively early in the building process; zero clearance fireplace (would have much preferred a masonry fireplace, even at the considerable added cost); six foot fences don’t really give sufficient privacy. We would have preferred eight foot.

Construction Quality - We made some minor changes to the floorplan before construction began. Plans were redrawn, exactly as we had requested, and when we have been able to make site visits, we've been very pleased with what we've seen. We've walked through at least a dozen other McCaleb homes at various stages of construction and are always pleased with what we see.

Problem Resolution

Problem Resolution - Ryan Hardy has been our project supervisor throughout most of our build. He has been available, easy to access, and is a good communicator of where we stand in the build. He's being shifted over within McCaleb to another neighborhood they are building, so we will be assigned Ty Higgins at our upcoming "trim walk". Every construction project will have its hiccups, but Ryan has calmly guided us through each resolution. Ty comes with a good reputation and background, so we are looking forward to working with him too.

Easier Than Expected - Because of the timing of our build (2021 and 2022), there have been many delays and supply chain issues, unrelated to the normal McCaleb Home process. From where we stand, I believe McCaleb has navigated all this well. I think if we were to be buying this home contingent on the sale of another one, it could be quite gut wrenching just simply because of supply chain issues!

We would not recommend the community that we live in Bungalow Heights. The other communities appear to be higher quality and craftsmanship that this community by far. Price per square foot is the same as the other communities and we were advised by the McCaleb team that the quality and craftsmanship would be the same, which is not our experience.

During 4 months I have leaking shower, flooded garage, loosened burned electric wires, cracked tiles because of cracked foundation. Nothing has been done to repair shower or flooding problem. I have installed gutters at my expenses to stop garage flooding but it’s not enough as there is a construction problem with garage floor and driveway. The builder told me that it’s normal for garage to flood during rain, but it was not my plan to buy flooding garage. After repeated flooding, there will be mold eventually. I had cracked tile in the laundry room and after builder removed tile, there was huge crack in foundation which caused tile to crack. Time will tell what will happen next…
