The crew that came to the house were very polite and cooperative. We had a couple questions as this process was new to us The office manager and owner were immediate in answering us and always getting back to us very quickly.

The MJT crew were efficient and professional removing our old shingles, repairing roof deck, weatherstripping and laying down the new roof. Clean up was thorough after the job was done. Crew leaders were polite and responsive to questions.

This company is safe, professional, and did quality work. It was snowing and weather didn’t cooperate. They didn’t use that as an excuse. They worked whenever it was safe for their workers (15 to 20 degrees and they still showed up and worked).

My house needed a roof but I also had sagging rafters on a portion of the house, fascia boards were peeling and rotten in areas, and the soffits were wooden and not properly vented. I feared I would not be able to afford to address all of these issues which really should be done at the same time. I met with 6 contractors in total. Manny the owner of MJT, by far, took the most time, over two separate visits, to thoroughly study my situation. He crawled through the attic to analyze how he would address the sagging rafters, pulled chalk lines on the roof to measure the amount of sag, and in general did a very thorough inspection of the entire situation. For comparison, some of the other contractors didn't even get up on the roof at all. Manny then took extra time, on a Friday evening to prepare a thorough estimate, printed it right there on his portable printer, and went through it in fine detail with me. He was the only contractor who proposed a complete solution at a reasonable price. He's also the only one who gave me an insurance certificate and copy of his license without me having to ask. He proposed tearing off the decking in the sagging areas, adding sister rafters to level the sagging, tearing off and replacing the fascia boards with Azek, and cutting wide vents in the soffits then boxing them in with new vented soffit. All of that work was completed with excellent workmanship at a reasonable price.

Areas Of Satisfaction - Another major reason I liked MJT is that Manny the owner is on-site himself, hands-on. Most companies not only use sub-contractors, many literally sub-contract the whole job. They come in for an hour in the morning on the day of the job to get everybody started and then take off, which is totally unappealing to me. Not Manny. He may not be on every job 100% of the time, but he is on all jobs much longer than most. With the complexities of my project, Manny was there the whole time working his tail off. Manny also has his own direct employees, not sub-contractors. He has had the same guys on his payroll for years. That to me says that he not only has his act together as a businessman, but that he has a good crew who work well together and that was obvious during the job.

Additional Comments - A few other things that make MJT / Manny stand out. He is the only guy who explained exactly what materials he uses for underlayment. There are 3 grades of ice and water barrier. Manny makes a point that he uses the highest grade which costs just a little more but in the big picture the difference is peanuts. I like that thinking. I bet most of the other contractors just use the cheapest grade and the customer never knows the difference. And finally Manny makes a point that code requires using only 5 nails per shingle but he uses 7 because 7 is better than 5, it doesn't take much longer, what's the cost of a few nails? Nobody else even mentioned that at all.
