I had never done a redesign before but had heard horror stories about working with other firms. After we met with Murphy Bros. the first time, we knew we were going to get the bathroom we wanted and work with nice, helpful consultants.

The other two companies said they would have to smash our existing tile to take out the vanity. Murphy Bros. was careful not to disturb the tile (which we really like) because they cared about what we wanted.

We are very satisfied with our Murphy Express remodel. McKenzie, our project manager, was very professional and made helpful suggestions on granite choices and some of the fixtures. Granite and fixtures were all very high quality.

Additional Comments - It was a project that we were bummed about. It was a big project, but I wouldn't think twice about using Murphy Bros. again. We are very glad we went with them.

We used Murphy Brothers for a large porch addition to our home. We started with an old open deck, and had a vision for our dream three-season porch. It was a large project. The porch is 18x20', needed to be raised three feet to match our main floor level, includes completely new French door opening, a vaulted ceiling, full surround Sunspace 4-panel windows, and an outside deck area for the grill. We told them we wanted it to look like it was always there as a part of the original home, and they delivered - inside, outside and the roof line all look great. We also wanted the feel of being in a tree house when enjoying the porch, and that's exactly what we got. A couple other things we really appreciated were the clear constant communication, and how well they cleaned up the site during the entire duration of the project. Even the neighbors commented how impressed they were with their hard work and respect for the tight cul-de-sac neighborhood. A great team all around, but key were Jeff, our Design Consultant, David, our Project Manager, and Earl, our Lead Carpenter (a true craftsman). We are very happy with the end result, and highly recommend Murphy Brothers.

We had a very positive experience completing our long over due kitchen project completed.

The work was done very well, but we had communication problems. It took a long time to get answers.

I'm mostly happy with the work that they did, but there was some things that were missed, resulting in me having to complete the work.

I think it would depend on the project. Overall, we were happy to work with Murphy Bros and were impressed with the team, but I think there were challenges with our project that may have been better suited to a different company. So I wouldn't hesitate recommending them based on the quality of work, design input, and work ethic of the team, but I do think the company has strengths and weaknesses depending on the project they are completing.

Unfortunately, my project did not experience the level of quality as described in many of these other reviews. Once work started almost every phase of the project had problems, in the items delivered and work performed. Ranging from minor corrections to major mistakes that had to be ripped out and redone. Most of this had to be pointed out and communicated by me. I’m fortunate to have some limited knowledge to do this, but I’m sure I missed some items. However, this is an unacceptable customer experience; as customers are novices and a main reason to pay a company to manage a project. Not to mention the extra personal time I had to contribute. In addition, while performing the work there was damage done to my brick exterior, wall damage when installing doors, and concreate pieces left all over my yard, to name a few. The lack of respect for my residence was disappointing.
I talked with John, the owner. Very disappointed. Everything had an excuse or passing the buck. No accountability or ownership of their role in this, the people they hired, and overseeing/management (or lack thereof) of the work performed. This company has received some recognition in the past, but nothing recent. I wonder if they are coasting on prior reputation. The billing rate this company asks demands a higher standard.
I had to find this survey/review site on my own. They said they would give me a survey to complete but never did. This feels like they are only actively asking for reviews on projects that go well and not a true sample.

We had a 3 season porch added during the COVID time. From working on a design to the completed project was a while because of COVID exposure from us to them, or just the people being sick. But, the project was GREAT from the helical footings to the gutters being installed to final inspection. Sure we all experienced the lag in supplies, especially in building materials. Scott L helped us navigate these supply issues and kept us abreast of shortages and provided alternatives that were viable and still looked great on the porch. Extremely trustworthy and reliable. I have never had carpenters that were able to hold such tight tolerances and actually provide 90 degree corners! They did! Mark, Sean are AWESOME carpenters. Scott in sales was the guy we trusted to help navigate what my wife and I wanted. Drew was instrumental in coordinating the delivery of supplies and manpower. Murphy Bros has become like family to us.

It was overall a very good experience working with Murphy Bros. My questions were answered promptly and in detail. Although there were delays in the project, but it's understandable given the circumstances.

While we did have significant delays, that is not why I would shy away from recommending Murphy Bros to friends. We had many problems with ordering and scheduling. What was most unsettling about our experience is that when things went wrong (5+), more than three people lied to us about what was really happening in each situation. I can understand that it is human nature to try to lie and skirt past your mistakes. However, in a professional setting when a client is inviting people into their home, this is unacceptable. Be honest about why things aren't happening or are behind or don't work. We are still finding Murphy employees lying about the status of our jobs and we are in month five of what was supposed to be a two month job.
