Shari Hensley was a large part of why we chose to go with Oevering. She was very attentive and helpful during the design process. There were a few concerns during the building of our home. Zach tried to address each problem as they came up as best he could. I have a couple of concerns that I would like to discuss and get resolved.
Excellent build quality, design, and customer service!
All in all things went really well. There was one issue with concrete being chipped and I took care of that. Oevering did reimburse me for my time and labor which was fair for the work done. We did not go with landscaping and it showed that the landscaper just wanted to flatten the ground and get out of there. They also left a hump before the drainage easement which caused all the water to flow towards the downstairs patio.
There has been a lack of communication on the warranty program.
I would not recommend simply because I have not enjoyed most of my experience dealing with them. And I do not feel valued from them as a home buyer. Our project manager did not take issues or concerns seriously and compassionately. Which dampened the relationship from the start.
you never call to let us know when contractors are showing up to finish things 2 months later we still have a broken window and the walls are cracking and the living room floor moves up and down when something as small as my dog runs around and we still dont have the right flooring installed that we paid for
Cost is important and Oevering does make a home more affordable. I strongly believe they could focus on better customer care and that would make their home value look even better to the consumer. I believe if they hired a person that actually focused on customer care, they would improve their reputation in many ways.
The home we purchased was very affordable compared to the same size house offered by other builders. The people we worked with - Shari, Emily, Jeff were very friendly, professional and responsive, and treated us with great respect.
They were very accommodating when we had any questions.
I would not be likely to recommend Oevering to most people. Oevering's build quality and list of standard finishes is very good for the price of the home but we experienced so many issues with communication and surprise extra costs with an extremely slow delayed build time, the excitement and enjoyment of building a home was destroyed.
We wanted vinyl plank upstairs before we actually bought the house. Carpet was installed instead. So it was an added expense to have it replaced. We had paid to have the deck put on before. It could have worked out doing the same thing with the flooring. Not all their fault. We just didn't know better.
