Construction Quality - Very impressed. We utilized a third party inspector during framing to help us insure our investment was being protected. He told us in his 40 years of home building experience, this was one of the best houses he had seen built. You can tell the pride that the team takes in building the home from how they store materials, how they keep the job site, and how the address the owner when are on the site. Every team member we interacted with was proud to show us what they had done on the project and wanted to make sure we didn’t have any questions that needed answered.

Employees & Subcontractors - Like I said above, Old world employees and subs take a tremendous amount of pride in their ability to brings your plans to reality. This is demonstrated by the time they take walking you through the steps of the design, build, and finish of the project. It was very great to work with a team that has that mentality.

Prior to signing a contract with OWC, I talked with/met with about a dozen other builders/contractors. I received the most information and support from OWC than I did with any other builder.

Salesperson Knowledge - I was speaking with Jim, emailing l back and forth, for about 3 months determining the perfect floor plan and build for our family, it was then, after 3 or so months that I found out he was part owner. I never felt like he was hurrying me through the process or rushing things along - he truly cared and wanted our family 100% happy prior to moving on to the next step.

Professional & Organized - I was able to catch Stuart onsite at our home quite often. It was comforting to know that he was actively overseeing the project and had a great handle on things. Stuart would text when he had a question and took any upgrades with stride. The customer of a home of this level has to make Stuart's job so much more difficult with selections, changes etc. I appreciate Stuart making all the efforts managing all the trades and delivering a great end product. I even told Stuart a few times that Kirsten is the "boss" on some design things. The working relationship between all was so good that some design changes were adjusted without me really knowing . . . I always smiled when things turned out perfect or better than expected. (I.e. black ceiling in wine and bourbon room and a few others). Great work Team!

Schedule - I will absolutely give 5 stars here. Our realtor felt that getting a jump on the selling season of our old home would serve us well. It was a home that didn't sell when listed not too many years prior. Of course it sold rather quickly this go around. Unfortunately the buyers needed possession a couple weeks before our home was done. I give kudos to Stuart for putting the afterburners on to take the project to the finish line. Old World put together a price in the long run that was cheaper than other builders. When you price compare similar builds, they were cheaper and less of a headache. Their model was similar to what I would normally do. The process was more enjoyable than for some of the other builders.

Additional Comments - Working with Old World has a wonderful very few if any things I’d change during process. Team is great at understanding your needs/wants and really works hard for and is never pressuring you.

While Old World does have some great craftsmanship (especially at the base build level), we struggled with communication and accuracy during every step of the build. The design process was great, but the execution was painful. Their inability to do basic Project Management and communication was surprising, given the price point and quality of the homes they build. Attention to the details we chose was arguably worse than their project management capabilities. We had to intervene and deal with numerous contractors and supplier partners of theirs (many of which mutually complained about OWC dropping the ball and not communicating). Our home was constantly deprioritized and never once did we actually feel as though Old World was there for us. They did not admit or take responsibility on many issues and errors. Our home completed in October of 2021 and we still (March 2023) have open action items that I have zero confidence that they will resolve.

The whole process of building was very streamlined, efficient, and professional. The build quality also second to none.

OWC builds a high quality home exactly the way you want it. We are very happy with our choice of builder and their team is amazing.

Additional Comments - It's been fantastic. They are the only builder that I know of, that we signed our contract with before lumber prices increased, that stuck with their word and did not raise or increase that cost onto us. It saved us tens of thousands of dollars.

From the beginning of our builder hunting process Old World stood out from the rest. The quality of their builds, the unique layouts of their homes, and the personal salesmanship helped us decide we wanted OWC to build our forever home.

Finding a lot proved to be more time consuming than we anticipated. Despite the delays and seemingly impossible task of finding just the right property we never felt anything other than support from the OWC team.

Once we finally found a lot we started the build and selection process. What could potentially be an overwhelming task was instead a joy! The design team went above and beyond to make sure our house was everything we wanted it to be. Additionally, all of the vendors that OWC sent us to work with were equally professional and a delight to work with.

We had excellent communication throughout the build with our construction manager. He filled us in on what was happening and was always able to answer any questions or get resolutions to any issues that came up.

Our friends and family stepped up big time when it was time to move. Everyone was so impressed with the build of our house. We get lots of complements on the rounded corners, the light fixtures, the massive island, the huge windows, the master suite…

We’ve been living in our home for almost a month now and couldn’t be happier. It feels like a dream waking up in our beautiful home. I would use OWC again in a heartbeat to build, but we won’t have to because they built our forever home.

There are many builders out there and I would encourage anyone looking to build to sit down with Jim and see what he comes up with. I was surprised by how competitive OWC's pricing is and with what's included in their price. It was a great experience from the first phone call to where we are now.

Jim Y. is an outstanding human. I will be honest, we went through the entire process with another builder and go out to the contacts stage and it still was not what we wanted. Jim listens to everything we asked for and did it. He added his two cents to top things off and make it that much better. I feel like he has a forever friend.

Old World met our expectations as well was very great to work with. The sales process was amazing, we met with the perfect interior designer to help make all of our selections less painful, and the job was done more than fast enough. I came in with a budget and we hit it where we wanted too with Jim (our sales person). I highly recommend old world because it was a no head ache build, we hit budget correctly, interior designer helping with every single selection, and Home was finished quickly in 6 months. Another builder quoted almost 15-20% higher for same project and was super disorganized. The companies I checked out prior gave me a migraine before we even had a final number. Old World uses a selection app where you can follow daily tasks that are occurring, your current selections, as well as see photos if you’re not local. It also has a time line and once the task is complete it checks it off completed. I would highly recommend old World to anyone who does not want the head ache of building, disorganization, and surprises of being over charged for surprises.
