The install team (Denny & Travis) was excellent - they worked quickly and deliberately. However, the communication between the install team on site, the owner (Frank), and us was poor which created frustration on our part. We constantly had to follow-up to see what was happening starting with getting updated renderings; there was no proactive communication to us to set expectations or report on progress. The biggest pain point for us was electrical. We had some (in hindsight) obvious electrical hurdles (septic, pool away from the electrical box) which were not discussed or presented to us until after we signed the contract and had paid a significant amount. We understand the Franchise is new and these are growing pains, so we regularly brought our concerns to Frank and were given the explanation that the company was new, short on staff for the orders taken, and some apologies were offered. However, even as of today 12/31/2021, we are still waiting for our final pool cleaning and had to call again to see when this is to occur.
Suggestions to improve:
>renderings should include where pool equipment will be placed to avoid surprises
>electrical should be specifically discussed well before the contract is signed
>sub-contractors should be introduced and/or a River Pools project person on-site to explain the people and what they are doing
>weekly updates should be provided to explain what has occurred and what is upcoming/scheduled next
I have already done so and RP Charlotte has a signed contract. Im sure they will be as satisfied as we were with the project ! Frank and crew are absolutely terrific.
