They were very responsive to any changes that we made or problems that arose.

I researched five major roofing and solar installation companies. With my work order criteria checklist and on-site visit with each company representative, I selected Scudder Roofing as my preferred roofing and solar job contractor. Although not the least expensive contractor, Scudder's total package of services, open communications and problem solving ease, professional conduct of all work staff and helpful input at all service levels, job safety awareness and good work performance standards, all were more important considerations than the job cost factor. Scudder's business model was found to be customer needs driven and attention to high work performance standards.

Wonderful staff, great communication, professional work!

When I put the contract out to bid for work on my garage and house, Scudder's staff were very professional and organized. Their bid was relatively more expensive than other's but, since this work was being done early in the COVID pandemic and they seemed to have their act together more than other roofers, I went with them. However, once I sent the deposit, I felt like Scudder ghosted me. I would leave messages, or when I did get to talk to someone, they would shunt me off to someone else's voice mail where my messages were ignored. This went on for about 6 weeks until I finally contacted their estimator rather than the office staff and he was able to get the ball rolling. Scudder then came out and completed part of the work with two exceptions: 1. They didn't finish flashing the entire garage and 2. they said they were waiting on the skylight's I need to be manufactured, but when they came in they would return to finish the job.

So a number of weeks go by and I haven't heard anything from Scudder. I started the process of contacting all the numbers I had for them and leaving messages. I left a number of messages at their office over the next month but, once again, I didn't receive any responses. At this point I figured that since they hadn't collected the balance of payment they would get around to contacting me. And they did. About a year later.

In the end, the work was all completed about ~14 months after signing the contract. I think the quality of work is decent. And granted this all happened while the pandemic was creating difficulties for everyone. I think the icing on the cake was that when I finally received the bill, it stated there was a 20% added fee if the payment was late. Irony is not dead.

The quality of the roofing job was great. The quality of the administration and customer service was awful.

The company is good, but the supervision of the work failed. It took a long time. It's almost been a year, and it's not completed. They gave me one price and then billed me an additional price after the job was completed. I had to call several times to get them to complete the job. After the job was finished, they somehow never put it on file. The inspection wasn't completed. I wasn't notified of a completion report.

I'd like to single out a couple of people. There were two gentlemen who worked on the roof most often. Rudy Garza, the foreman, was outstanding. His workmanship was high quality. His communication was constant. I can't say enough about how well he managed the property and roofing as it was done. The second was Jennifer Scudder, who worked through all the details of the contract, billing, invoice, and follow up. There was another woman in her group too, Jan. They were both extremely professional on how they managed everything I was trying to get done and how they worked with me in timing, billing, and everything else. Also, the first person I was actually introduced to was Gabe Sollecito. Gabe is the one who did the original estimate and wrote up all the contracts and made sure we knew exactly what we were getting. He was highly professional and very attentive to detail. I was so pleased with what they did there.
