I am happy with the way our front porch turned out. Dimitri was very helpful in recommending the products to use and we discussed design ideas that would make the job more cost effective. He replaced my old wood decking with composite material and the railing and stairs. His pricing is fair and they completed the job in two days as originally agreed upon. He was flexible in scheduling and communicated well. I’d recommend Dimitri and Smart Choice Construction.

Dmitri, the owner of Smart Choice Construction, is a first rate contractor. I’ve never worked with one better. He replaced my wood decking (front steps and 2 landings) with TimberTech PVC. He was very responsive and professional and he’s an expert in his craft. He easily resolved the challenges he encountered during the project and completed the project on time (which included 2 additions not in the original contract). We are SO pleased to have chosen Smart Choice Construction for our new deck. The owner, Dimitri, is incredibly punctual and communicative.When I first had him out for a quote, he was thorough and explained the finest of details (like which screws would be used and how they would be fixed).Dimitri (he is on site every day) and his crew worked quickly and what I thought was minimal noise considering the scope of the project. This could be my perception because the work was all outdoors, but still it was refreshing. They were ready to start promptly at 8am each of the 3 days they were here, and were never here past 4pm. It was pretty impressive. Not only were they quick and relatively quiet, they did an exceptional job cleaning up after themselves - no construction debris!BONUS: One other thing that should make you feel good about hiring Smart Choice is that if they are replacing an existing wood deck, they have an arrangement with another company to repurpose that would for picnic tables and the like. I didn't know this until we had Dimitri out for the quote, but every little bit of good in the world helps.If I had one knock on the experience, it would be that I had to file my own permit. Having never been through that process and unwisely never having my lot surveyed, this was a little more of a pain than I had anticipated. That being said, Dimitri still started on the exact day he said he would when we signed the contract and the quote he gave me was SIGNIFICANTLY easier to digest than one we had for the same work. With the benefit of hindsight, filing the permit myself was more than a fair tradeoff, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. :)All in all, I really can't recommend this company enough for your new deck. Hire with confidence!
