Five star excellent job! Mike came promptly on time to give me an estimate. Smart Choice Contracting was my third and final estimate. Their price was fair and comparable to other estimates I received. Mike was very pleasant and knowledgeable from the beginning and addressed all my concerns. Added to the fact that the company had 100% all 5 star reviews on the Owens website is the reason I selected Smart Choice to do my roof.Unfortunately I had a new Cambridge pavement driveway installed just 2 weeks prior before realizing I needed a new roof. Mike talked to my paver and agreed to add wood plywood sheets underneath the dumpster in my driveway to protect my new pavers. I thought that was really great. Because I had a roof leak, Mike arranged to have my roof done a week earlier than what was originally planned. I was very nervous but Mike assured me that everything would be fine and just let his workers do the job. Mike was very honest and told me he couldn’t guarantee the pavers would not get damaged and any other roofer would lie if they said they could guarantee no damage. However, I did buy an extra heavy-duty tarp to fully cover my driveway. The workers put my tarp underneath the dumpster for added protection. Plus, they used their tarps to also protect my driveway, on the sides of my house and shrubs. All was done in one day, without any damage to my pavers. The workers cleaned up thoroughly. I can’t thank them enough for not damaging my pavers! I also wanted to add that the gutter contractors that came to my house were fantastic! They were very thorough and did a great job.

Mike made a very competitive price and explain the materials and process of replacing roofing tiles. His foreman was excellent and made sure that the plants surrounding the house was protected. Cleanup was very thorough. They raked all the beds around the perimeter of the house and picked up nails on driveway and surrounding area.

I hired Smart Choice in the Spring of 2021 when I needed a complete roof and gutter replacement on my Huntington NY home. I solicited several bids. Smart Choice had the best price, including options to finance at a low interest rate or a cash price discount. Mike (the owner) was very thorough in his survey of the project prior to delivering his estimate, so I was confident that there would be no unpleasant “surprises”. He took time to discuss project options (eg ridge venting vs. attic fans). He also provided several references for recent projects so I could see their work firsthand. The work was completed when scheduled; his crew was very professional and thorough, clearing out all project debris and leaving the grounds as good as when they started. I am completely satisfied with Smart Choice, and can enthusiastically recommend them to anyone in need of roofing.
