Overall a decent experience.
Everyone at Solar Energy was a joy to work with. I will be honest Solar energy World was not the 1st company I called. Other companies either never called me back or couldn't even send me their link for our initial Zoom meeting. The staff at Solar Energy World for the office staff to the installation crew were always professional.
Solar Analyst - My salesperson answered all of my many questions. I even has additional question after our initial meeting an he always answered them quickly. He also kept me updated on how things were going in the process.
Installation Crew Leader - He kept me updated through out the day and talked to me after the installation was completed. He explained what would happen next and made sure all my questions were answered. He also let me know who to contract if I has any additional questions.
Additional Comments - I had been on the fence about going solar for awhile. After working with the staff at Solar Energy World I wish I would have found them sooner.
Our experience with Solar Enegy World was terrific, from beginning to end. The sales rep explained everything including al of our options and the whole process went exactly as he said it would. The schedulers kept us fully informated. The installation team was wonderful. They had to come back to finish the EV installation that we also purchased although we don't have a plug-in car yet, but it made sense to do it now since we know our next car will be one. Finally, they took care of all of the licensiong and coordination with our power company, which occurred while we were on vacation. It was an awesome day when we got the call from Solar Energy World to "Turn it on" and we began to generate power!
Yes, I am likely to recommend SEW to a friend. Indeed, I have already recommended them to a few friends.
The sub-contractors used by this company are not only subpar but also do not install according to code requirements. We only caught them because I took pictures during the install and contacted code compliance.
The solar system has been installed, and it is working well, as advertised.
If you are under the PICO electricity in Philadelphia, don't trust the company. They don't approve 100% what you need. Solar Energy World wanted to give me 100% and did this two times, but because of PICO, they had to remove twenty panels from my roof. It's a lot of labor, and a lot of people will lose their money. PICO hasn't changed my utility meter yet, and it's been almost two months.
They messed up my deck in the installation.
Good experience with team at all steps in process.
It's a great company to work with. I will always refer them to anyone needing solar energy. I had my electric panels installed for free. If you need solar, come to Solar Energy World.
I was very pleased from the first time I met the salesperson to the installation, and I appreciated the professionalism of the installers.
I was pleased with the actual installation. I feel the salesperson could have been better and had concerns about installing solar panels on a flat roof. This concern was voiced to the salesman several times, and he could have described the system used on the roof—it could have been handled better. At the end of the contracting process, I had made it clear to the salesperson several times that we probably would want to install more panels than needed for our electrical consumption. We talked about 21 panels, and he called, saying the 21 panels would exceed our consumption, but we could have up to 29 panels. I told him I would think about it, and then I told him we wanted to go to 25 panels. My problem is that the marginal price for the additional panels is more than the average price of the original panels. I feel the price was inflated on the last few panels because they knew I wanted them.
They were very knowledgeable and technically capable.
They are really detailed, and I'm quite pleased. I am pleased that the power output from the panels exceeded their initial expectations.
I am very pleased
Having my solar system installed by Solar Energy World was an excellent experience.
Salesman, Tim, was very informative. Tim followed the process through keeping us informed
Lack of communication around process and next steps. I have reached out via email more than six times with questions and not received a response.
I haven't had an issue to be honest, the only thing right now that has me concerned is, when I spoke to one of the last girls, we started this in June, and we're already going into December, and we haven't even started using our solar panels yet. The solar panels are installed and everything, but we're waiting for PSCNG to install our meter. But as far as the installation, I had no issue. I spoke to all of them, I forget his name with the electrical panel on the inside was very professional, I have a dog, and he was really good with him. The installation of the roof is very clean, we had roof installs for panels to be done, the work that was done upstairs was good.
The staff was knowledgeable and did a good job answering all of my questions. Out of all the solar companies Solar Energy World had the best prices.
Solar energy was super from initial introduction to final installation. They kept me fully informed going through the process. Installation was efficiently done in one day and installers were pleasant in explaining what they were doing. There was one small item that needed fixing and they responded in hours to complete the task. I could not be happier with this experience and highly recommend them.
I provided two and received no $500 each because it was stated they went to thru the state program. Sorry this I not acceptable
At this stage of the game I will not recommend solar energy world to anybody to sign they put up in front of my house in New Jersey has a phone number on it it's no longer in existence also I asked representatives from pennsauken office to call me back especially Connor he hung up on me so that is my review of the whole situation I received the number from the home office down in Maryland I am going to the township because I don't believe anybody from your office in New Jersey spoke to the township and as why the fire department not the engineering not the engineering report but came over to give the inspection and knocked it down so as far as I'm concerned this is going on since March
The installers were very vulgar and loud to the point they disturbed my neighbors. I wanted other things installed but couldn't because of all the vulgarity.
Timothy Gutman was very professional and helpful.
Solar Energy World has bad customer service.
Very pleased with our service so far. We highly recommend Solar Energy World.
Everyone I dealt with at Solar Energy World was professional, informative and polite. I was kept apprised of the status and I knew I could always communicate with my sales rep with any questions. I added the critter guards late in the game and they were able to deal with this and give me the proper invoicing. My solar panels look great and I look forward to watching my electric bills go down!
Solar Energy World made the Solar transition totally painless - they gave a free evaluation, and filled out all the paperwork for us including the tax credit forms.
My rating is due to the fact that they took so long and it was not completed by the date they promised.
There was consistent engagement and follow-through in two areas of interest.
Everything they said they would do and accomplish, they did so in a timely manner. They were on point with the schedule they stated when they told us how long it would be for the job to be finished.
Solar Energy World does a reputable job. They are very knowledgeable and know exactly what they are doing.
Let me first say, I am not one to write reviews. However, based on my experience with the forward facing Solar Energy World sales/project lead and service department, I feel compelled to do so. There were bright spots in my experience that I hope to highlight in my review, such as the installation crew's professionalism and thoughtful responses from the engineering team. I also intend to provide some recommendations that would have improved my experience, mainly simple acknowledgement of inquires, timely communication of status requests, and data/documentation informed answers.
Generally, the customer service has been poor post-install. Simple questions regarding how the solar and monitoring systems operate once installed have been met with short or incomplete explanations from our Solar Analyst and the Monitoring department. It takes numerous attempts to gain sufficient and complete answers to clearly articulated questions, often requiring direct communications with the engineering team or constant follow ups. Here are the most egregious examples:
1) After installation, it was noticed that GoodWe inverters were installed on our system rather than what was stated on our contract, Solar Edge. Instead of providing a straight forward explanation with appropriate documentation, which essentially ended up being an error by the Sales Associate, it took nearly a month of constant requests and a series of tepid responses from our Sales Associate to resolve the discrepancy. Finally, I had to reach out directly to the design engineer to get a technical explanation, and then personally review the engineering drawings (and associated revision dates) to ensure the original system was based on GoodWe inverters and that we weren't being given subpar equipment. The coy and delayed responses made the discrepancy seem intentional and dishonest, rather than in error, which was the case. This should have been handled promptly, particularly since contractually SEW was obligated to provide us that particular brand of inventor and was therefore in breach.
2) Since the system has been in operation, one of our inverters has been periodically throwing a fault. This should not be happening on a brand new system. Several requests have been made to the service department and our analyst over the past 3 weeks. I was told someone was going to get me on the service schedule. I have yet to be contacted and the faults keep randomly occurring. This is extremely frustrating given the system just went operational and is not performing as designed or reliably.
Our salesperson was very knowledgeable and personable. The installation was relatively smooth. We are just left at the end of the process with no contact from the company and our solar panels still not turned on yet, 2 months after installation.
This company is very serious. They don't play with you. I would recommend them to anyone. All the workers are friendly and until today's date, I am happy.
The guys who installed it had to keep coming back.
Solar Energy World is extremely professional. They get things done in accordance with all the required procedures, and they made sure everything was 100% correct.
The project is not done, and it's been a month. The grid was not set up correctly.
I have already recommended Solar Energy World to others.
I have had a good experience so far.
My salesperson was no longer working for the company during my project, and then someone else took over. The installers were great, but no one has really followed up with me other than with texts. I didn't even know the system was on. However, once I figured it out, everything is working fine. The company was nice, but I would have liked a bit more follow up.
I dont know if i can recommend yet. please contact me after a year or so. Then i can tell you
See question 10
Absolutely not
The project overall went very well. I am very happy with the panels. There was some difficulty during the design and engineering process working with the employees.
I am not happy as far as getting the grant. I haven't heard anything about it whatsoever.
When we initially started working with them, we had a single point of contact. A short time later, that person left the company, and there was no notification about that. I wish the communication had been better when the point of contact changed. We didn't know who to contact.
Solar Energy World provided good service compared to most local vendors in Maryland.
Ok
