SHS does great work and is a very easy company with which to work. Their prices are fair for what you are receiving. They may not be the cheapest, but if you want it done right and with quality materials, their cost is very fair. They also are very good at communicating with you during the entire process, and are responsive to questions at all points in the project. They have now done both my roof and a siding replacement over the last 12 years. Nobody else touches my house!

I have hired this contractor on 2 separate occasions, once for a newRoof and once for Hardie siding and gutters. They are very professional and friendly and everything was done on time without any hiccups or delays. Everything was beautifully done.

We used Southern Home Services for a complete replacement of all exterior siding and trim with James Hardie fiber cement products and they did an amazing job. Christian, the salesman, was very detailed and a pleasure to work with. Travis is an awesome project manager and kept the job on schedule and running smoothly. The Project Manager would not communicate, would not return calls/texts for days. The work crew installed the wrong brick molding so the window screens wouldn’t install, then drove off telling nobody. Flashing was installed backwards so some was white, some was off white. There was no project ending walkthrough, just an invoice.An altogether terrible experience.

We had SHS do new siding, new windows, shutters and carpentry. They were cost-effective, high quality and dependable. Coul not recommend them more highly.

The reason we ended up choosing SHS was because of their approach. There was zero sales pressure, and they spent a lot of time with us answering all our questions and offering suggestions. The work crew was fast and super-efficient. I went from a leaky roof to a new one in just two and a half days.

Southern Home Services was often slow to communicate, and generally did not seem to have my satisfaction in mind as they performed their work. The site was routinely left in a dirty manner, and many of my personal items on the property were damaged or broken. The original time estimate from the project manager to complete the project was within one week (day for the roof, 2-3 days for siding), but the actual completion stretched longer than one month of work. Because of an error by their crew, my home was without power for 5 days, which caused hundreds of dollars of food to spoil in my refrigerator plus the added expense of hotel. The owner of SHS originally offered to pay for these items and "make everything right", but that did not happen in the end which was a perfect illustration of my dealing with the company. I would definitely not recommend using this company.
